- in this video we put together and site the first greenhouse on our land! One more step towards self sufficiency. Also Louise starts making in roads on one of the many patches of brambles!
Just noticed your trailer. It looks really sleek. Very nice.
Hey guys. New sub from us. You did an amazing job with you green house. I am in the same position after getting one of marketplace for free 😅. Just in the process of putting it back together. I love you base ☺️. I wish I could get something like that for the base. Keep up the great work. Good content bro 👍🏾
Wow that base is awesome what type of beams are they id love to souse the same beams as they look perfect
They were something I pulled out of a skip whilst working on a building site, I’m sure they are purlins which are part of the structure of large warehouse type buildings. Hope this helps.
Great job any idea where I can purchase these metal lengths from and what are they called
Not sure where you can purchase, I took it out of a skip but I believe it’s a purling.
Do you remember the dimensions of the purlins you used !. Thanks.
i wish i can give you guys 100 Thumbs up ... Well done
Im about to do my one. And im fortuned i dont have some much trouble
Thank you 😊. Good luck with your project 👍🏻
Nice video! Needed to see what people are doing for greenhouse siting as we've just moved to a smallholding in Ayrshire.
Also, I need to get some dungarees for my better half. What brand are the ones Louise was using for doing the brambles? Mrs liked the look of them!
Cheers!
Thanks. I’ve also used wood for a greenhouse base in the past. Not as long lasting though.
The dungarees are Engelbert Strauss. 👍🏻
How much land have you got to play with??
@@doingoutdoors875 Thank you, I'll pass it on to her and see what she thinks.
We're 16 acres total, but most is rough grazing with some areas we're going to put down to trees for soil stabilising/tree hay/firewood and shelter belts etc.
The wood idea sounds right up my street. Some sleepers cut to length and eco treated could be better for us. Just need to find a greenhouse on facebook now!
