"I loved you in Wall Street" Charlie Sheen and his father, Martin Sheen were in the 1987 film Wall Street.
In addition, they were both performing a line from their inner monolugues from their respective 'Vietnam War' movies😂
Martin Sheen was portraying his character from Apocalypse Now
@@Qu33nMary444- and Charlie Sheen is portraying his character's monologue from Platoon
And Martin was also in Apocalypse Now.
And it’s arguably the greatest moment in the history of cinema 😂
“I LOVED YOU IN WALL STREET!” was a reference to themselves in real life. That older man is Charlie Sheen’s dad, Martin Sheen, and they starred in Oliver Stone’s “Wall Street” together.
And it's perfect!
Martin Sheen dressed in army attire upon the gunboat was simultaneously a reference to Apocalypse Now.
@TrentRidley Don't forget Charlie was in Platoon. Also about the Vietnam War.
The game show Ramada and Michelle were on at the end was called American Gladiators. It was sort of a prototype of American Ninja Warrior except the contestants had to battle professional athletes.
The Gladiator that Michelle pushed past was called Siren. Sadly she committed suicide while still quite young.
Hearing them say "omg what is that" made me feel so old..
They recently uploaded all the seasons to UA-cam. Btw show was massive in Europe as well. I couldn't believe they've never heard of it.
One of my favorite shows as a kid. 😎
The UK has just revived our version 😄
The BEST joke was Topper on the river boat - his deep serious inner monologue was basically the same exact words from his father's performance on a gunboat traveling on a Vietnamese delta in the film Apocalypse Now - and then of course passing each other on the river, where their voices overlap...and both complementing each other's performance in the film Wall Street, where they played father and son together (Martin Sheen is of course Charlie Sheen's real father). Both AN and WS are top 100 films of all time, and must see ASAP.
Charlie's was from Platoon, Martin's was from Apocalypse Now
I saw this in the theater back in '93. What a great time that was.
'93 was a great year for movies!
God, thank you guys for uploading this. I had to say goodbye to my cat today, I can't tell you how much I needed to see something like this.
Sorry for your loss, hope you found some enjoyment from this
October '22 here, (my cat), I know the feeling, he was such good company😊
"This might be hitting a little close to home."
Hahahahaha
I was like “how did they get footage of Joe Biden for this movie?”
8:11 you know why they said “rakers” … how people from some countries pronounce letter “L” with “R” sounds. Remember “a christmas story” at the Chinese restaurant? It was the 80s-90s 😀
I'm trying to heal from a broken rib why God why did I decide to watch this?
Oh No! 😆
Watch weekend at Bernies with a ruptured disc.
Best RAMBO Parody Ever Made!
@shainewhite2781 No, for me its Weird Al Yankovic in UHF! 🤣😎
Not just rambo. They reference like 12 movies in this. These guys were too young to get all the references
28:46. “War. It’s faaaaantasic!” Is a play off of an 80s NFL promo. “Football. It’s faaaaaaanastic!”
That guy playing Biden Stole every scene he was in.
That Casablanca joke killed me LOL
I know!!! I never got the reference until I saw Casablanca finally. They pretty much just directly stole the plot of that movie for the love story between Topper and Ramada
The audience burst into spontaneous applause during that Chuck Sheen -Marty Sheen river boat passing of the torch moment. The fact it landed so flat with you guys has left me dead inside. Completely understandable, but still, no less dead. Dead, dead, dead. So dead. Don't get old gentleman. I'm highly against the practice.
Clapping for movies is kinda dorky.
30:54 - There was a TV game show back in those days that was HUGELY popular called, "American Gladiators", they are referencing that show in this scene.
the event the girls ran into, was called the eliminator, which is the final part of the show, where they will run up the treadmill and passed the gladiators, and the obstacle courses. depends who make it first. and the joust, where the contestant has to knock out the gladiator, if the gladiator is knocked off where he stands, the contestant gains a point. if the gladiator knocks out the contestant, the contestant does not gain a point
If you've never eaten an earthworm as a kid, you haven't lived. Also, swallowing live goldfish would fall into this category.
Yes! Whenever someone asks whether there's a sequel that's better than the original film, I come up with this one weird example. But it's true.
I mean most people would say Empire Strikes Back or Godfather 2 but I like yours more.
@@aaronhenley4741 Agree on Godfather, I do still actually prefer A New Hope to Empire, though.
The funny thing about seeing Miguel Ferrer crying from the tension during a fight is that he's an actor I've always seen in action movies and series in the role of the bad guy and the tough guy. That's why he says at one point "war is fantastic".
14:49 Ryan Stiles as the demo guy is so great. "Then, when they're all paid off, I'll set my charges and blow the shit out of 'em." 🤣
16:45 That's his dad, Martin Sheen. As you can guess, they were both in the movie Wall Street. So was Michael Douglas.
The gloves and glue at the beginning fight was a reference to Kickboxer. A definate 80's movie
Don’t forget the Casablanca references. They pretty much just straight up took the plot of that movie with the love story between Topper and Ramada (the train station abandonment rain thing, finding out that she was married before, Topper telling her to get on the plane with her husband instead of him, etc). I love the Godfather references too. When they’re in the restaurant, if you look behind them, it’s the meeting in the Godfather where Michael assassinates Captain McCluskey and Virgil Sollozzo. Also at the end when Michelle asks Topper to “get her off the hook. For old time sake,” she is a directly quoting Tessio’s line from the Godfather when they discover that he was the traitor who tried to sell out Michael to Barzini. That’s what he says to Tom Hagan before they take him away. My favorite though is the dual Apocalypse Now/Platoon meta reference when Charlie Sheen (Platoon) and his father Martin Sheen (Apocalypse Now) both quote lines their characters said in those films, only to meet each other by saying “I loved you in Wall Street,” which they were also both in. Classic!!!!
The reference you didn't get with Martin Sheen on the boat might be the greatest meta joke in the history of film. It's genius.
I forgot how goofy this movie is! 🤣
Next:
Lethal Weapon
Followed by Lethal Weapon's very good parody movie: LOADED WEAPON 😂😂😂
"Can you get me off the hook for old times sake" is a Godfather reference.
President George H.W. Bush threw up during a state dinner while visiting Japan.

Richard Crenna /perfectly/ sending up his own character is just wonderful xD
The boat trip was reference to apocalypse now where Martin Sheen was sent up river in Vietnam to kill a general that went crazy
Nota general, Colonel Kurt.
Which itself is referencing the novel “Heart of Darkness” by Joseph Conrad
I really enjoy watching you guys react to stuff! I was laughing as hard to your reactions as with the jokes in the movie. 😂🤣
It's amazing how much American Ninja Warrior has overtaken all memories of American Gladiators.
Rainy Face was Miguel Ferrer, son of Jose Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney and cousin of George Clooney. Was in ROBO COP
The President is wearing a wetsuit because Loyd Bridges (Jeff Bridges farther) was Mike Nelson, SCUBA Diver in the early B&W TV days and when SCUBA was a new thing and all of underwater was a mystery. It was a good show. I particularly like the chicken-arrow.
Yeah, this movie was crazy over the top hilarious!!
The jokes you didn't get is because you're too young to understand.
14:38 that's Ryan Styles of the long running UK and USA remake of "Whose Line is it Anyway?" and "The Drew Carey Show".
24:52 didn't that balding guy appear as a supporting character on NCIS?
Before airplane Lloyd bridges was not a comedy actor he had a show called sea hunt, he knows the old navy way
I've decided that my favorite reactions are when you two are laughing your heads off! This was SO much fun. The movie was chaos and a total circus but you guys laughing through it...OMG! That made the movie. I thought my favorite part was when Topper called that grown man "Rainy Face". 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
I prefer the original, much funnier, but this is enjoyable, and has some good jokes, although my favorite got cut out.
"What are you reading Topper?"
"Great Expectations"
"How is it?"
"Not all I hoped for...."
Long before American Ninja Warrior, American Gladiators existed
Okay, guys, @11:31, I gotta break in, Look at the expression on the Asian guy's face! This scene is a replay of when Bush the 1st went to a state dinner, seated next to the Japanese prime-minister. He had the flu, knew it, went anyway, at sushi, and literally barfed in dude's lap. Don't take my word for it, look it up. It was on video, and we WATCHED IT LIVE! Omg, it was nastacious. It was boag. It was disgustra! And those are just the Southwest Michigan slang words for it!
Can’t believe you watched this *before* _Rambo III_
Great reaction lads - The dictator dude with the ridiculous mustache is a parody of Saddam Hussein - thankfully the real one is resting in pieces but this was when he was still alive - he essentially appears in both films, the first one is like 2 seconds and you will miss it.
And it’s even funnier that he’s still alive because he gets the bomb dropped on him and he gets blown up at the end of Hot Shots! 1
11:10 was a reference to GW Bush when he threw up on the Japanese Prime Minister.
I see you guys noticed the "Hillary Rodham Hussein" reference. If you pay close attention, you'll notice that every woman in the film has the middle name "Rodham."
@31:40, that is from "Terminator part 2."
The Hot Shots movies are my favorite of these spoof comedies. Although their references are a little topical for the era, so you guys may not be getting the full effect.
Dudes. I am seriously enjoying this reaction! (12:20 Even if you are too young to get the Basic Instinct reference. I really like your interactions; the way it takes you so long to get the joke. Great stuff! 16:52 They were both in Wall Street. You guys are SO young. And in that vein, demerit for not recognising Ryan Styles.
Finally you guys watched this 😂
You guys are dope. Keep it up.
Who told you this was the more loved Hot Shots movie?! Great sequel, but the first one is a classic.
One refrence if you wanna get watch basic instinct, specifically Michelle dressed in white and changes leg position im sure you will like the point of view
Ah President Bush vomiting onto Japan Prime Minister's lap can't get out of my mind XD
16:43 I don't think it's a tough reference to get. Lol. I've never seen the movie either, but apparently they were both in Wall Street. Reference got.
Thanks for the sequel reaction!
Oh, honey.... That opening joke? Like in Aliens and shiz, please, "kill it with fire." That is running through my mind in so many movies these days! The Thing, Alien, blah blah blah.
There references from Rambo 3 and Kickboxer with JCVD at the begining, so if you have watched these movies before Hot Shots 2 it would be funnier to watch this movie after.
I forget his name and it escapes me But the actor that plays Rambo's commander Plays the same character in this 1
My condolences to that man’s nuts. 😢
richard crena and miguel ferrer in top form!..we miss you guys!.. ❤️💔
Did you guys enjoy Joe Biden's role in this.. he plays slow and incompetent VERY WELL.. doesn't he?!! LMFAO!! Sorry... Didn't mean to insult Lloyd Bridges like that!! haha
NBA is Fantastic was a Huge marketing thingy back when. Why it's out of the blue. Gotta loosen up a lil bit more, i know its a different time, but it was a different time too.. Happy you're up for it though... Loaded Weapon is great....!✌️
I also like the first one better, though that isn't really a popular opinion. I think the character depictions and the story were better. I liked the admiral, as the admiral. He had some great lines, and maybe he was a tad funnier. I loved "I love a good funeral!" and "That's MY job!" The second part wasn't bad. You can see some refinement and improvement in the production values. The jokes were a bit more intense, and some even hit a little harder on the hardee har level. Still, I think the story in the first one was a bit stronger. It was a bit less of a mashup of references, though there were definitely plenty of those in the first one, too.
All in all, they were based on completely different movies, so it is a bit difficult to judge between the two. It's like trying to pick Indiana Jones or Back to the Future. It's easy to appreciate both. I think the first Hot Shots does a great job as a Top Gun parody, and the title fits the movie more than it fits the second one. By the way, if you see the film "Wall Street", that is referenced in the film, the limousine scene and the boat scene will make a lot more sense. The guy in the other boat was Martin Sheen.
Aaaah, I remember watching that film at a much younger age than yours, and wondering what meant the "I loved you in Wall Street!" line... then I got interested in cinema, and by the time I was your age, I knew Apocalypse Now and Wall Street.
Too bad you missed Basic Instinct, though. I mean... come on, guys.
PS: the line "Hillary Rodham Hussein" makes the film a ten.
Brenda Bakke was also in Tales From the Crypt Demon Knight & the series American Gothic in 1995. I definitely had a crush on this 30-ish hottie in the 1990s😊
You two must do CHEECH AND CHONGS UP IN SMOKE.
A lot of movie parodies in this. Hard to get all the gags without knowing the references
You guys should watch Wanted: Dead or Alive, 1987 starring Rutger Hauer and Gene Simmons from KISS.
Lloyd bridges last movie is mafia I think same people made this made that it's a godfather parody movie
I'm thinking maybe just don't do the jokes. Your spontaneous responses are funny, the stuff you write... umm.. well. I wanna be nice, so...
Just discovered this channel, are these two guys brothers, or friends?
Men at work good luck and that's his real brother because Martin sheen is actually Martin Estevez. He there dad changed it because it was the 80s. And that name won't get his dad acting jobs pretty much
Fun sequel.
Once you watch Basic Instinct and No Way Out, both great psychological Movies, you'll appreciate more of the jokes in this.! ✌️
Did you read all the end credits?
You should have watched Rambo 3 before this film! 😕
You missed the Casablanca plot.
President Benson: a competent, well-meaning version of Joe Biden. (Not attacking, just roasting)
Bloodiest movie ever
You guys should react to Jackie Chan's Drunken Master franchise
Part Dööö.
American gladior not american ninja warrior,
You guys HAVE to watch UHF (weird al).
Wait don't these guys need to watch Rambo 3 as well?
Movie is still hilarious, but at the time it was spoofing so many current things that the jokes are lost today. Popular commercials of the time, George HW Bush puking at a dinner full of dignitaries. Countless movies, not just Rambo. The caramel and gummy bears was spoofing the glue and glass from Kickboxer. Great movie but even better when it was current
LOL
Привет!
А вы смотрели фильм Scary Movie?
Если нет,то сделайте пожалуйста reaction...🙏
Hilft eben nichts, wenn man zu jung ist und so gut wie keinen Film kennt, der parodiert wird. 😂
Are you talking about sleepy Joe?
Personally Hot Shots 1 is my preference. I like this film but the step up to on the nose cartoon level comedy was a bit less amusing to me.
Gladiators look into the story of that one it's fucked up.
The pronunciation of deux in french Sounds like duh...get it?
Now its look like documentary in Biden as president.
this President Benson had to have been inspired by Joe Biden-30 years ago
pres. benson or biden i cant tell one from the other
More of movie less if y’all faces
Back in when they made great movies unlike a lot of the trash these days.
References that you missed:
"Delta Force"
"Missing in Action"
"Uncommon Valor"
"Rambo 3"
President George H. W. Bush puking on the Japanese Prime Minister at a state dinner
"Basic Instinct"
"No Way Out"
The actor playing Rabinowitz, Ryan Stiles, was a regular on "2 and a Half Men"
Charlie Sheen's voice-over from "Platoon"
"Wall Street"
"Apocalypse Now"
Martin Sheen is Charlie Sheen's father
"The Guns of Navarone"
"American Gladiators"
really? Cam hasn't seen the Terminator movies?
"The Godfather"
Miguel Ferrer was George Clooney's real life cousin
In other words, they missed everything but the references to Rambo, Oz and T2 (at least ONE of them didn't...).
@@SCharlesDennicon They only partially got the Rambo references since they only watched up to "Rambo 2", and many of the references were to "Rambo 3"
They also missed Casablanca, The Adventures Of Robin Hood, Lone Wolf McQuade, and my favorite, Dr. Strangelove. There also may have been a reference to Enter The Dragon.
Beetlejuice death at the end
When Lloyd Bridges (The President) took the role of the glue sniffer in Airplane, his sons Jeff and Beau Bridges had to convince him to take it. He was a dramatic actor and thought it might ruin his career. In fact, it reinvigorated it, since he turned out to be an even better comedic actor. The man in the other boat where they said "I loved you in Wall Street" was Martin Sheen, Charlie's father. They were both in the movie, Wall Street. He was also in Apocalypse Now, where most of the movie was spent on a PBR boat.
Dipping his hands in ice cream toppings is making fun of the movie Kickboxer.
The President is played by the dad of Jeff Bridges. The scene where he vomits at dinner may be based on the real event that happened with President Bush and the Prime Minister of Japan (1992). Keep them coming and thanks for the fun!
Darn, you beat me to it. :P
@@gestaltdude Great minds think alike! :)
