There was nothing quite like seeing Steve Harley in concert. My favourite moment of any concert I ever went to, was when leaving the Apollo in Glasgow after one of his shows. Everyone spontaneously starting singing #Oh dear, look what they've done to the blues, blues, blues as they walked down the street. Unusually for concert goers-it was in tune and in time! It was stunning. Forget Freddie - Steve was utter magic. 😊

I remember that concert..I think Sailor were the warm up( I cud be wrong)....I can remember Steve in a full length red coat....I remember thinking...he's raided his mum's wardrobe for that !!....great concert thou..The Greens Playhouse / Appolo was the best venue..seen all the greats down there...pity its long gone..but memory's live on forever...As steve would say......Best years of our lives😊

I love Cockney Rebel. My mother and father met through the Steve Harley fan club. You can see my mother in the crowd at the front in this performance. My father in his lifetime went to over 250 gigs. I have personally been to over 30. Love the face-to-face album

It's really something else, as an American, how so much of our music in the 70's and 80's came from the UK, to find there's still amazing stuff that never really crossed the pond. Love Cockney Rebel! And I love that there's clasic rock that can still be new to me!

Imagine in 1974, i one of the crowd, watching and listening to this weird and wonderful music, of the first band Cockney Rebel, i still consider the best group, and were truly the first originals, i am 61 years old now, and when i look at Steve Harley, performing as he did then, i have undying gratitude, to his amazing music, lyrics and song, and made the world a very happy place to be in, so exciting, i bought every album he made, thanks for everything, and was so pleased to meet you, and still have your precious autograph, , never forgotten, the man and his music.

First originals? I’ll consider the Beatles as original. Pink Floyd is definitely one of the most original bands i history of the human race. There definitely other examples as Well.

Just found this . Saw them several times from 74 . The original Cockney Rebel were unique in not having a lead guitarist . A ground breaking venture at the time . Hearing this LIVE is certainly emotional for me. Wish there was some vids of the 1st line up live .

I never got to see Steve Harley & his Cockney Rebel, yet I have always liked Steve and his music, there was something special and most honorable about Steve, I especially love this song, Sebastian, Good old Steve is now resting in eternal peace in heaven and having a good old chat with Phil Lynott about the good old days around Old London Town

    Truly great songwriter, sadly underestimated.
This song, The Best Years of Our Lives and Sebastien were our singalongs.
I was listening to Death Trip the other day. I'd forgotten just how good it was.

one thing i have noticed. Not just in football but in general, is that the british folks hit the notes much better than most other places on earth. You can hear that about 99% of the crowds do an okay job.
