My mother used to listen this and other Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel songs. Now she's gone, withered away by the cancer that consumed her. She never was much of mother, but for me, songs like this are far more precious than all the care and motherhood in the world.

Saw him at the Winning Post in Twickenham in June 1974. Psychomodo had been released only days before and they played all the songs. Without any doubt the best concert I have ever been to. The original Cockney Rebel, no guitars apart from the bass and Steve occasionally on an acoustic. Absolutely stunning. We have seen him several times since still a star!! RIP
I've been playing so many different versions of this lately, and while nothing beats the original, this is such a close second. A beautiful part of my childhood, and while we will never get Steve back, this will live on forever.
I was expecting him to tour in my city, a date was booked, but then Covid happened and the concert was postponed. And then it seems he could no longer come. R.I.P. I wanted to experience a live performance by Steve so much.❤❤❤
