    I've driven one and it was a complete blast to drive. I really liked how it has multiple personalities. It can be relaxed and luxurious in comfort mode and normal mode. It can also be a blast to push in sport and sport plus mode. The total package is pretty impressive.

    These are great cars. Comfortable when you want to loaf around, and responsive when you are in sport, or S+ mode. I look at it as a luxury car with more performance than you'll ever really need. Amenities are first rate, and the 3.0t, while not an outright numbers engine, has more than enough torque to move you along, even at quarter throttle. And I agree completely with the review, it seems to actually pull harder in 3rd 4th and 5th gears. Steering feel is not as good as our F Pace, and I'd guess the Jag handles slightly better. But no third row in the Jag. The 25 spkr ELS is better than than any system I've ever heard, home or car, including burmester ( the good one, not the one in the entry level Mercs) in our last gls..
    Most of the critics have never driven one, nor any of the competition. If they had, they wouldn't be so quick to criticize. A car is more than its specs...

      FR and offer a "performance" oriented rear suspension/arms. With bushings etc that are more suited for "grip/highspeed" cornering....it would be a very ideal daily/highway commuter car for those that can afford it. That can also be used to hit the slopes etc. Just a good allrounder that wont have the maintenance costs of "other brands"

    As much as I like the MDX Type-S, I'm not willing to part $80K (currently being sold at US dealerships) for it. For that kind of money, you can get a Tesla Model Y Performance with FSD and save thousands per year on not having to fill up with premium gas.

    Ummm.. Excuse me! But have we forgotten about the FX45, FX50S, and the Skyline Crossover (EX37)? Those were TRUE Performance SUV's based on Nissan's 350z/370z's RWD platform. This MDX Type S, while more attractive than any MDX before it, still sits on a Accord derived FWD platform and DOES NOT hold a candle to the aforementioned 3. So I believe the title should be changed to Honda's FIRST Quasi-Performance SUV. Oh, and BTW, This MDX (and all prior ones) are fully built in the US/Canada so IT IS NOT a Japanese product, nor any Honda/Acura product these days for that matter. Thank you.

    • @apthashooter860
      @apthashooter860 2 роки тому +3

      Wrong. Those 3 are great suvs. But there awd system is trash. It doesn’t use the attesa-ets. So it handles horribly. All the did was throw a big motor In them. The shawd system makes this handle with the best of them. Your a Nissan guy I can tell. I’ve had 45 and had a 50 and while there quick they handle like shit.

Here we are in 2022 and a type S has 355 HP 354 torque, keep on mind both vehicles are we over 4500 lbs in some cases depending on trim it could be about 4750 lbs, so the weight has increase over the years. perfect hopefully the stay at home moms on the highway can manage to not break/swerve when the fwy does a slight variation. As safe as these SUVS are in accidents....hitting a commuter car and the conditions for the ppl in those vehicles arent at those speeds FML. Idk how ppl drive the other slew of 80K+ performance SUVS with at times much larger displacement than this acura...or even worse teslas with their subframe/structured design SMH and have the excuse of not being able to drive it in a single lane w.o train tracking/populating 2 at once....tires/grip matters....they slap on FAT rims and dont even look into ideal tires for performance just big rims+tires and no alignment its so obvious too. LMFAO. With the weight of the RDX if they push out an RDX it could be quite the ideal daily/commuter if they offer this v6 boosted engine. Actual rear suspension is a nice luxury and performance boost in a car that would seemingly weigh a little more than a large 4d luxury car. while still offering 4x4 options or etc "Drive up to the dessert/mountain" etc capability as well as the fun on the hwy/commuting and having the "PERFORMANCE" capability to have good wet/dry grip or any Potential evasive driving. Still nice to see an acura enter the fray of the 80K+ suvs...hell i remember when LA city council members were writing themselves "FREE" explorer limiteds with the tax payer dollar in a huge scandal...and i was like "Not surprised">..< what i was surprised about was that i was like does spending 80K+ on an explorer destigmatize the fact that its a ford to the "WOULD BE" non ford owners otherwise(SUV keeping up with the joneses "the california way") for the disillusioned. Used to work in DRP and those fords were actually quite the step up from the past linage of explorers.

      Acura drivers know how to drive and don’t need advanced driving features like park assist, they have advanced safety systems and decent drivers support intervention.
