LA - more Asian! NY - more European despite having both in both cities!
Also, LA is more Mexican and Central American while NY is more Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican and South American!

LA isn't that great. I'm from northern CA and when I went there it was spread out, a bit ugly, and smoggy. People looked like they were depressed. Don't get me wrong, there are some nice things about it but it's not good in terms of cities. The other parts of SoCal like Orange County and San Diego are nicer, especially SD. San Francisco is just a better city than LA overall. Haven't been to New York but may go there soon and I'm sure it's much better than LA, other than weather, although i like cold weather sometimes.
