- In this video, Capt. C.A. is on the water with Kevin throwing Texas Rigs, but unfortunately the Reds aren't getting caught on it. C.A. does a little trick and coins it the "Texas Rig Hack", which ends up catching some chunky Redfish. Check out the on the water action, followed exactly how C.A. managed to fix the Texas Rig, and get the bites him and Kevin were looking for.

Excellent tip C. a. .
That's a trick I'll almost surely use. Thanks.
Is this for certain situations or should I do this with all of my hooks
Awesome tip cap! Gonna try in the glades
I do this with the Pro bulletz and diezel minnow
Yes sir that’ll do it.
One of my goals as an inshore angler, is to be able to spot fish as good as you. You are to good. If you have any tips, I would love to know
Two things that help out focus on a a surfactant signature given by fish movement and use good optics that creates contrast like #SmithOptics
Great little tip CA! It’s so crazy how the “little things” in fishing sometimes make a huge difference! Thank you for pointing these and many great tips sir!
Thank you, Jesse
Great tip great fishing and beautiful area.
👍🏼 I know I’m lucky to experience this area!
I just need to say this MR. C.A RICHARDSON has literal mainstream quality programming/editing and most other tv shows ( hunting ) don't compare .THE FIRST TIME WATCHER FEELS LIKE A LIFELONG FRIEND AND YOUR IN THE BOAT WITH C.A
Another trick is to run the hook just through the skin of the side of the bait. Soon as you get a bite the hook comes free and you have the full hook open.
C.A. you are so good at spotting fish it is insane dude.
I could be entirely wrong here but maybe a high speed baitcaster would have helped in this situation. With that strong current and the fish striking you may be creating a great deal of slack in your line. With a spinning reel it's much harder to recover line quickly than it is with a baitcaster. Getting the line tight quicker might make for a better and more powerful hookset. Just a thought. Thanks for the videos.
Definitely would have helped
Hey Capt. Houdini and trout eye strikes again! 3 tournament reds in less than a hour. 2 on tubes yesterday. Following from st. Aug, Keep the tips coming please!
You bet Jason!
Hey CA! Awesome vid as always! I gotta ask you a question. How do you know when the conditions are right to use a jerkshad instead of a paddle tail? Im up in MD and the Z Man paddle tails are always my go to but Ive never had luck with the shads. I know its a user era problem. Just wanted your thoughts. Much appreciated!
I experiment a lot… sometimes they want a static retrieve like the paddle tail and every once in awhile they want the erratic movement of a jerk shadz
Would be cool if you could get Roland Martin back on the boat with you. He's got a awesome channel as well.
He’s an amazing guy and a legend in our business
What net are you using? I’d like a nice folding net like that for the skiff
Ranger Nets
If your lucky enough to hook and catch a nice red, he will bend it for you, lol
I guess there’s a little truth in that…
