    We buy these at Costco and I have been giving thought to do a homemade version. Thank you for sharing this -- we also prefer gluten-free baking so this is a good recipe!

    Would love a recipe with some dark chocolate incorporated. I personally started crumbling two Aussie bites in a bowl adding some dark chocolate flakes, a tiny amount of milk, and mixing it up. My favorite 300 calorie snack now. I bought mine at Sam's.

      Dark chocolate sounds like a great addition to me. I think you could just fold in around 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bar into the mixture before shaping and baking

    Could you use olive oils instead of coconut oil?

    these look great, any thoughts on what could be used to make close to sugar-free as possible? Not too worried about the fruits, but more about the Maple Syrup and Brown sugar. thx

      @Leelalicious  Рік тому

      Hmm, if you don't want to use sugar-free sweetener or syrup, I wonder if you could use pumpkin puree or apple sauce, or even 1 egg to make everything stick together instead

      I substitute monk fruit or stevia as my sweetener. It's one to one in ratio and it turns out perfect with no sugar. 👍

    Is there a way to do this without a food processor

    • @Leelalicious
      @Leelalicious  Рік тому

      I think so. You could use oat flour or blend the 1 cup of oats into flour in a blender. The raisins and apricots could be finely chopped with a knife by hand, and then the rest could be stirred together with a spatula in a bowl. The seeds will remain whole but I don't think that matters much for the success of the recipe.

    I didn’t have a good processor can I use a Ninja blender?

    • @Leelalicious
      @Leelalicious  2 роки тому

      I don't have experience with a Ninja blender, but I think this recipe could work with a high speed blender. But you may have to stop it a few times to scrape down the sides with a spatula to make sure everything blends pretty evenly

      In an airtight container at room temperature for at least 1 week

    What if you don't have the blender you have

    • @Leelalicious
      @Leelalicious  Рік тому +1

      If you don't have a food processor, a high speed blender might work. Or use 1 cup oat flour + 3/4 cup quick oats. Chop the apricots and raisins as fine as you can by hand. And then just combine everything in a bowl

    Why are they called Aussie bites?

    • @Leelalicious
      @Leelalicious  8 місяців тому

      I believe it’s because they are inspired by Anzac biscuits
