Hi. Just wanted to thank you for a great video. Thinking of buying a S1000XR and have watched all the reviews available. Have to say, yours was one of the best and most helpful. Have now subscribed. Keep up the good work! 👏👍👍👍
Hi Mark, thank you so much, really nice to get positive feedback and I'm pleased you liked this review. Lockdowns pending we have so much coming this year. A ton on new models for cars and bikes covering many brands. Thank you and welcome to the channel 🍻
before i made my choice and bought my xr i watched many reviews and many seemed to be negative regarding the seat abd lack of low end grunt i compared the power and torque curves with my sx and i could see that the low and midrange was slightly better than my sx and the bike is simular weight i couldnt test ride as i had a ban for speeding on my sx from last year and the excess jeffries wanted me to sign up to for test ride was ridiculus so as i had a 2019 s1000r for a week when new i had an idea how it would be also i had a sit on one well i am so delighted i may keep this for years it ticks every box for me and has enabled me to sell 3 other bikes as this is such an alrounder. unless you rock up in a vtwin you will find the low end perfect. and the seat suits me i think after a few hours it may hurt a bit but its not enough to stop me enjoying what to me is the best bike i have owned by a mile
Bang on mate! The quality of this vlog is up to your high standard! I share many of your thoughts on this bike. I absolutely love mine as it checks all the boxes for me as far as the type of riding I do. I agree about sitting in the bike. It took a little bit of getting use to but at the end of the day holds up on long rides for sure. I did 5 hours straight not too long ago...no issues and that is coming from a guy with a janky back. Interesting to hear from a taller rider.
Thanks TBRD. I still had some mic issues in thought. Not sure if it's due to the levels or mic position but I feel some wind noise and little popping/distortion is still there. But I'm gonna try and test more next week. Only issue here is snow and up to minus 5c this week.
Beautiful video and narration. I agree with the things you said about our bike. I have a question, though. Since we both have this high windshield... Do you hear it having some buzzy noises at around 5 to 6k rpm? Mine has it and I'm thinking how to decrease that. Saw that there are rubber pads where the screws are... Still, not sure what is the cause.
Hi Stefan, thank you mate, really appreciate the feedback. I am still fairly new to this but working hard to build a good channel and keep improving. Now that you mention it yes I do sometimes get a buzzing but hadn't found where it was coming from. I'm actually not that impressed with the screen as it seems to dump a fair bit of wind in your face haha. Might get a spoiler thing for the top of the screen. Have a feeling the buzzing is from the lever to switch the height?
@@Revviews although I have subscribed to many great bike channels, your channel deserves the sub, too. Keep it up! Now you got me wondering where it's coming from truly... Hello mate. Yeah going good pal, what about you? I would say in terms of raw performance barely anything between them. The gen 1 as far as I know is Euro 4 regarding exhaust and emissions. hi and thanks for a good review. I will buy a bike now when the new ones come here to Thailand. I do not know if jsg should choose BMW GSA or S1000 XR I like sporty tour bikes. but of course comfort is very important. I probably drive 60,000 km / year at least. Long trips of both 2 and 3 weeks are more the rule than the exception. it stands between S1000 xr 1250GSA or Versys 1000 se gt all with everything extra you can think of. I'm a little confused some clue maybe. the road standard here is extremely different and very twisty in the mountains. difficult situation right.
Hi Buddy and thanks for watching. Though choice but good position to be in also. So the XR is the sportier of the three, the GSA will be the most comfortable I would think but close with the Versys, as the Versys sits in the middle of the two. I've done quite a few long trips on the XR and it is very comfortable however the seat could be better tbh. But its also very sporty and that makes up for it to me. See if you can back to back test ride the bikes and the right one will call to you I think. Cheers 🍻
