Deep Tissue Laser San Francisco for Hand Pain

Our San Francisco Chiropractic and Deep Tissue Laser Center is proud to present our patient of the week. Niko reported to our clinic 3 weeks ago with unbearable right thumb and hand pain that had been getting progressively worse over the last 9 months. Her pain was so severe, that she was unable to hold a pencil or turn a page in a book! Curious why this hand pain came out of no where and wondering what was going on, Niko went to her doctor to get some answers. She had x-rays taken of her hands and wrists and was told that she has a condition called Osteoarthritis (OA). OA (a.k.a. "wear and tear" arthritis) is the most common form of arthritis and affects millions of people around the world. It occurs when the cartilage at the end of your bones wear down. In Niko's case, she had lost ALL of the cartilage in between the joints in her thumb, so her bone was rubbing directly on bone. Unfortunately, there is no cure for OA, and symptoms usually worsen over time (as Niko experienced first hand). . (ouch!)
