@@DocBree13 Watch day 6 of the trial with emphasis on the testimony of Scott Kuntz. He is a video expert who found some pretty chilling and damning evidence on the cameras from the neighbor who lived across the pond. On the video when it’s enhanced you can see the Halderson house and six windows. Throughout the course of early morning on July 2nd from about 12-5am you can see one window in the house constantly glowing, it’s the room with the fireplace. Also as the night progresses you can see movement via lights going on and off in the house going from garage to the living room back to garage back to living room. You’re basically seeing Chandler grab pieces of his parents from the garage and taking them to the fireplace. At around 2am the glow in the living room gets incredibly bright, and light goes on in the kitchen then the fireplace window goes dark for a a little. That’s the point where the fire got out of control from burning the bodies and the glass shattered, fire escaped the fireplace and Chandler put it out. Without actually seeing him burn the bodies it leaves a lot to the imagination as the horrors that were going on that night. One of the craziest and chilling pieces of evidence I have ever seen.

I was about to write a similar comment because I also got a great laugh out of the things he was saying. He always puts in the perfect amount of humour while still being totally respectful when telling any story. He is one of the best UA-camrs, bar none... And like you said, when Scott was describing the emotions, thoughts, and feelings of Chandler's brother and his wife, it brought out certain emotions in me as well. I still have both my parents but I lost my brother this past year (but he died of a Pulmonary Embolism) and it just made me think about so many different things. Like the thought of losing ANYONE I love in this kind of way, I just cannot even begin to fathom!! It's just so senseless and absolutely devastating! I truly feel for all the people who were affected by this 💟

It's the fact that he killed in cold blood for a stupid reason and didn't feel anything after. Possibly justifying his actions and you agreeing with me is evidence of the lack of thought in that first part of your comment.
Read this very carefully: If you're willing to kill your parents over something so mundane, what would you do to those who would put you on blast for your BS?

You don't deserve it and I'm still really really disgusted with my son for doing this but I suppose it's all the internet and gaming that's the problem. To be honest I don't know that I would have a masters degree if the internet had existed. It's too distracting. And I have severe ADHD but I still got a masters with honours in the days before internet. Only TV was a distraction and we had only three channels here. but that was bad enough.

@@trueCrimeGuruYes Maybe the “problem” is that college isn’t for everyone. And yeah, s/he does deserve a good relationship with his folks. “Earning and burning” isn’t LIFE, woman. I feel sorry for your son. And who knows. He’s got a whole life ahead of him. Perhaps someday he’ll change his mind. If he’s still speaking to you by then maybe you can then love him for living as YOU see fit? Gross. As we clearly see, an education doesn’t make the person… It doesn’t even make them educated.

You calling it "uni" feels key here - you live somewhere where higher education is free(ish), no?
The way US parents, esp the barely-middle class, struggle to sink cash into their kids' college education before their even born, well before anyone knows if they're even adept at such studies or interested, is setting people up for tragedies.
(obvs the murder & bbq parents response in this case was a personal choice.)

“Flooding” therapy is straight up re-traumatising the victim over and over again and I hope it is recognised as purely damaging. Looking at our trauma gives us the ability to move on and see the reality of it. But to constantly relive it over and over again keeps us in the exact same place where the trauma happened. Tonya had a histrionic desire to be a perpetual victim. So “flooding” suited her down to the ground.

In college I got an internship transcribing therapy sessions that one of my professors did in the 60s. It was all flooding therapy for survivors of physical and sexual abuse. He just made them go over the details over and over again all while being recorded. We even had different codes depending on the type of sobbing or anxious silence the patient displayed. Totally sick lol I can’t imagine it helped anybody in the slightest.

I thought that flooding therapy would be meant for stuff like phobias (Like having someone with a fear of dogs go interact with a bundle of dogs), not trauma. Isn't there some people with PTSD where they already go through re-living the memory of their trauma in everyday life? I can't imagine how flooding therapy would be effective for that. EDIT: not saying that there isn't psychs who do this to their patients. Sounds like hell.

The judge was really outstanding. He handles his courtroom in a very respectful and fair way. And yes, the main prosecutor was awesome.
Chandler was babied throughout his life and grew up thinking he could do no wrong. He was constantly using those around him and was bailed out of situations he got himself into. He has no empathy - zero. Unfortunately, Bart and Krista lost their lives and poor Mitchell lost his whole family. 💔

I have heard (I've not been a client in court) that you're instructed not to show facial reactions to witnesses and stories, etc. You are pretty much told to look down and shut up. Some people watch and take notes, but that doesn't interfere with questions, intimidate, stop the proceedings, anything like that. I have seen one trial where a lady was openly angry, laughed sarcastically, so on, the judge warned her she'd be removed from taking part in her trial. I can't remember the outcome but just like the rest of the room, everyone needs to be quiet!
