Assassin's Creed may have satisfied some fans of the video game, but the rest of us... not so much. This movie sets the record for "amazing actors slumming."

They could've done the story of Edward Kenway from Black Flag and used Chris Hemsworth as the actor and it would've been a killer movie. Like cmon!
oh shit you're right he does look like edward a little
Anyone else notice that Kenway was the last name of Connor and his father? Or am I an idiot
@@capitive1503 its because they are related
@@capitive1503 there is no facepalm big enough xD
Or they could've just used his voice actor, Matt Ryan.
One of the things that gave me nerd rage in this movie is how they don't even get the terminology right. The assassin's organization is called the *Brotherhood,* the creed is just their motto.
True
The thing that really gets to me is the Animus, I know I'm not spelling that right, I get that they had to change it.
The creed is not the motto it's the ideology
The Creed isn't just a motto, it's a creed.
The rules they live by.
Just imagine how hard is it to be a Resident Evil fan.
"Does he remember mundane things?" Well Ezio remembered collecting feathers, soo... yes. yes he does. XD
Not to be dirty minded, but another mundane thing was Ezio was a womaniser- like A LOT! Imagine watching someone in the animus (movie version) literally.. eh.. thrusting?? ^^U Also, your comment made me snort laughter, so thanks~
And being born apparently.
For the collecting feathers thing. . .didn't Bayak do that too? Or was collecting feathers just a normal thing for Ubisoft's assassins to do?
Lark88 Altair remembered collecting flags and picking pockets
The animus isn't based on actual memory, it's based on genetic memory. So it would make sense for literally everything, including his birth be stored in there.
Remember when the animus worked like a VR headset, yeah good times, but hey movie drama
Or like a coffin. Or a complicated therapy chair. Or literally anything that would’ve made more sense than a giant stupid arm.
Because no one wants to watch a movie about someone using a fucking VR headset. That free motion apparatus was great
@@thevoidlookspretty7079 I think the arm makes more sense tbh. they were using the animus as training for a long time. Why not build practical motion alongside the practical knowledge? Plus, synchronizing seems to be more finicky, but nets more accurate memories, so the motion likely aids sync as well.
@Halo Wanna the Templars had the animi training program. It's what they used to train new recruits
What about the way they did it in avatar
9:24 Sin 91 He missed the conveniently placed haystack at the bottom, which caused him to desync. Everyone who's played Assassin's Creed has done that at least once.

Here's a real commentary on this movie: I saw this very video pop up, said "Oh, is Assassin's Creed out already?", googled the release date, and found it came and went SIX MONTHS AGO.
Honestly, I saw one trailer and heard nothing else. Ever. Nice job, advertising team.
Yeah very low key marketing. I knew the movie had come out but I only knew it existed because of the gaming sites I frequent.
SAME!!
LITERALLY SAME
Sooo movie failed to movie even before it had the chance to movie. (ding)
probably my favorite part in the movie was when the kid messed up the bike trick in the beginning
Mr. Jiggly my favorite part was when he took ofc his shirt XD
My favorite part was the end because it was over
1:12
I'm going to use a James Kidd quote, that he says when Edward misunderstands the phrase "Nothing is true, everything is permitted"
"You parrot the words, but you do not understand them"
only a true fan of blackflag would notice that so kudos for you!!
Nice
This guy is a savage. I want him to tell me everything wrong with my life in 13 minutes or less.
that would take at least an hour.
efge3wf ewfgef 13 minutes? hahahahaha with me he'll talk for hours
efge3wf ewfgef 13 minutes is not enough time bro
why bleu cheese? and yes, it's bleu, not blue for cheese
liquid uranium damn 😂
Actually the statement "nothing is true everything is permitted" comes from the real life middle eastern Hashashin the Assassin's were based on. The motto is often taken out of context in the AC series. In reality its referring specifically to religion as "nothing is true" means the rules of religion are not real and simply rules made by man and "everything is permitted" meaning things usually considered unlawful and immoral (murder, thievery, suicide, etc.) were in fact allowed and not the rules of any sort of higher power.
Also fun fact the assassins IRL actually worked WITH the Templars during the crusades not against them. Annnnd then got slaughtered by the Mongolians only 100 years after they began.
The series interprets that motto as this: _To say that nothing is true, is to realise that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilisation. To say that everything is permitted, is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic._
@@zorex. some of the games also sprinkle some "the needs of many outweight the needs of a few" (like in killing one guy to save multiple others) into the mix.
everything was perfect, until the 100 years fact, it was reported they lasted about 300 years, now i might be wrong, they might have been slaughtered but some survived ... not sure
I figured that the assassin's would help in the cursades
@@jedidiahstone5949 becouse they had the common enemy, sunni muslims. Hashinshins (assassins in the western world) were shia muslims who wanted shia islam to be the dominating islam in the middle east. They failed as much as the crusaders
I don't get why game-based movies go out of their way to change everything good about the games.
To be fair (and I haven't watched this movie or played much of the series, so this is general), movies tend to have to change stuff to fit the medium.
I understand, but still, the outcome often sucks.
Adnane Roc along with writers having only read the description on the back of a boxes or the Wikipedia entries
I bet the people who make them are too lazy to play the games so they just read up on it on Wikipedia.
Bcuz who da fuk carez about story?! Gotta make dat qwit money boiiii
A thing that really fucked up my nerves hardcore was that the assassins in the movie cut the ring finger on their right hand. Canonically, it's their left hand - portrayed in ac1, ac origins. Also by the 15th century they didn't need to cut their finger (unless it was part of the initiation ritual, which I doubt) because the hidden blade's design had advanced considerably by that time.
Also the animus is a chair with a computer thing connected to it not a wierd huge arm thing
It is explained in the AC lore that the Spanish Brotherhood kept up the practice of ceremonial removal of the ring finger despite Altair improving the design after he became the Mentor of the Levantine Brotherhood. The Spanish Brotherhood followed Altair's teachings in some cases like the dual hidden blades or hidden blade combat tactics. But they never stopped the ceremonial initiation involving the ring finger.
Also note that the removal of the ring finger was supposed to be done with a red hot blade to cause as less pain as possible and immediately cauterize the wound, but the Spanish Assassins aimed to use the pain to seal the allegiance to the Assassin Oath. They were hardcore like that.
u think those credits are long?...in the games even the cleaning person in the Ubisoft toilets gets her name shown...and in every language the game is available
ff14 in the Guinness book of world records for longest credits because of all the players who stuck around in 1.0.
I think the credits for both Rayman Origins and Legends are damn near the length of a movie
Little Nightmare bullshit
MysterioBerlin when I beat one of the games (idk which one) I left it running and ate dinner AND IT WAS STILL GOING.

I would like to point out that, if anything, the game's story is more batshit insane than the movie's. However, it is *cohesive* and although it gets a little pseudo-science gobbledygooky at times, it still has a *consistent* internal structure that the player can follow. The threads of Assassin and Descendant are interwoven in a way that is entertaining and easy to follow (if weird).
Also the Animus is more like the Matrix. None of this suped up Vive shit where the Descendant is physically performing the feats of the Assassin. But I guess they felt like they wouldn't have gotten the most out of buying Fassbender's time if he'd been laying in a box for half the movie.
^
The animus in this movie is retarded.
Draukagrissah Cohesive my ass. The game series has one of the most stupidest stories in all of gaming. Very fun games, shit story
Superhero Fan the story was good until brotherhood. The story outside the animus in the first game was really interesting. But then desmond died and everything went to shit.
They didn't want to invoke Matrix vibes.
I mean, that's a stupid reason for the Arm-nimus, but that's one of the reasons they gave.
Haittakari The last game I played was Black Flag as well, but I've watched Letsplays of the following games.
Unity is garbage with no redeeming qualities, Rogue has janky dialog, but I'd recommend watching a letsplay if you like the narrative (It ties heavily into AC3 and Black Flag, plus introduces some modern day characters who may be important), and Syndicate also has instances of janky dialog, and feels a little out of place in the universe, buuuuut I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, and the modern day (which consists entirely of about 10 minutes of cutscenes and some audio logs) has potentially major implications for the future of the series.
I wouldn't recommend spending money on any of them, but if you have any interest in picking the series back up in the future, you'd do well to check out letsplays and Audiolog compilations from the latter two.
I am a huge Assassin's Creed fan, but the movie was just terrible.
I am a huge fnaf fan and I pray and hope they do the movie well 😔
Please explain to me why you hated it because I thought it was great. Regardless of what people say, I’m not afraid to say it.
It was a disaster
The problem is that if someone never played a game before, they’d hate this movie. All around, the movie was alright. Some of the real world scenes sucked but I think they did a good job portraying the memories.
@@Gho5t_1984 Well, I think they didn't tell the story as they should have, mind you I have played the games so from my perspective knowing the pretext. Plus the simulation while in synchronisation isn't how Abstergo operated in the game? He was having to execute the moves to reflect his memory? A lot of things just didn't make much sense. But that is just my opinion, disregarding the games storytelling, the movie was good.
Really surprised you didn't sin/mention the fact that 95% of this movie took place in abstergo, and that about 15 min of the movie actually took place during the inquisition with the assassins
Blake Hunter I don't know about u but those were my favorite parts of the game walking around that boring gray building instead of being kicking ass in the animus.
Bruce Young either I don't get your satire or your sarcasm.
The Sins are based on the movies themselves without consideration of the source material. Since they aren't considering the balance of modern day to past found in the games, the movie's balance isn't being compared to anything.
Erudito otidurE what you said literally had no connection to my comment lmfao.
Blake Hunter True. I loved this movie. 10/10. But I hated that Aguilar only had 15 mins of screen time.

We're gonna make this movie about an Apple to make the movie seem like even more of an asshole
themightysven I don't understand one bit of that.
It's a recurrent joke in Cinema Sins. Everytime a character eats an apple, the guy says this.
he says "director tells actor to eat an apple so actors character looks like an asshole" in essence
themightysven if you don't play assassins creed then you wouldn't know what the apple of eden is. It has nothing to do with Adam and Eve.

Even longer than that
I get that they wanted to make a new story, but I feel like it would've been ten times better if they just did the plot of AC 1 with Altaïr. I would've enjoyed it a lot more even though I know the story already tbh
PxG Echoes - Destiny and More Exactly. Assassins Creed is already so storyline driven they should have just kept the story they had.
I agree, I've said that all along and I think it would've made a lot more sense, though I personally would love to see a movie based on black flag

You know, in the sequel, they should focus LESS in present and MORE IN THE PAST
No way the Desmond parts are why I play through the boring “actual game” parts
Pretty much the problem with all the new games
Alex Kelley desmond died like 6 years ago. He hasnt been part of the games since
Ha, the games should take this cue, im playing origins and i have zero interest in the present.
You know I get the feeling you could probably make a multi-game series about that and it would probably sell really well!
I don't think this dude has ever played an Assassin's Creed. Also, him seeing Aguilar is something called the bleeding effect which is also how he knew how to fight
That's the point if the criticism lol. A movie is supposed to stand on it's own not rely on information from the game.
Play 3:39 and listen. This guy makes a single joke about time-travel, and suddenly everyone takes it serious without bothering to finish watching the video.
@@Laocoon283 Ah yes, a movie about a video game should stand alone and not rely on information from the actual video game it's based on to make sense. Using that logic, Super Mario Bros. isn't the worst video game of all time
@@thornwall6303 dont really know what your trying to say but yea not every1 going to see the movie has played the game so why would you rely on plot important info to be narrated exclusively through the game. That's just gonna result in half of your audience not understanding the movie.
@@Laocoon283 Ok counterargument: Why would you go see a movie based off of the Assassin's Creed game series if you've never played an Assassin's Creed game or are even remotely interested in the Assassin's Creed game series? That's like walking into a gun store even though you are against guns
Let me tell you something good about this movie; it doesn't have blindingly bright loading screens.
Yeah, the loading screens are a lot shorter than they were in the last game.
You know, what I did like about this movie, is that the Spanish characters actually speak Spanish and not just English with an accent. I think just for that I can forgive some of the sins this film has. I'm a bit of a language and history nerd, so stuff like this actually make me happy
I watched this and I had never played an Assassin Creed game. I had no idea who was the good guy or the bad guy. If your audience doesn't know who we have to root for, you know f^cked up. +1 sin
Oh, don't worry; that's basically how the games are.
Hmm people who want to enslave the human race vs people who want to preserve it's free will ya you're right no clear good and bad guys there
MrElionor both of whom seem to think it's fine to murder you without compunction if you disagree with them.
EDIT: I'm sorry, I forgot, you don't even have to disagree, you can just be a random person who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time
Yeah, a great thing about the video games is that there are basiccaly no good guys. I mean, there the ones who want to be dictators and rule the world, and literal assassins on the other side. The change of the usual good guys/bad guys division is refreshing. But there are so many things in the Assassin's Creed franchise that they simple couldn't explain all they needed to explain in the short time lenght of a movie. So, yeah. Point to them for effort. I'm still disappointed. The games are awesome (though less so in the more recents) and my favorite to this day and the movie doesn't live up to the potential.
@Madeleine Fisher The Assassin's have a creed and part of that creed says that they won't kill an innocent. So no, they won;t kill you even if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, the Templars however, will do whatever it takes to get what they want.
some of the sins could be easily explained: it's a fan service for gamers(doesn't make the movie better, but explains why it's there)
I swear, you're the only person in this comment section that I've seen that has made that point and not complained about them not playing the game.
@@Mk-it6cr no, not at all.
@@Mk-it6cr Exactly. They tried to give the game fans some fun stuff but they screwed so much else up it wasn't even worth it.
Andrew Cruz I don’t think you understand how company’s work, they don’t do it for the fans they do it for the money that’s why some people don’t like new games anymore even if there’s nothing wrong with them it’s because of the company
Most of the “sins” are just movie cliche. He gave a point for the face touch? And another point for the drugged running scene? Anything besides a family of 4 with kids born from missionary sex followed by blueberry pancakes is a “sin” to this guy

Please sin Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. You thought this movie had too many goddamn cuts? Resident Evil took one look and said "Hold my beer."
Xander Roberts I actually liked that movie, it was supprisingly fun. And a high note for the series.
they made another movie? how many damn movies... I gave up after the 1st.
Eh the plot sucked and the plot twist was predictable.
Mr.Death Yeah but it led to the line ''The trinity of bitches.'' More than worth it in my book.
Demonos3 This is the sixth one in the series. Personally, I enjoyed the first two movies. Three and four weren't great, but they could have been worse. Five was probably the worst one in the series before the final chapter, but with how they ended it, I was really hoping to see Wesker and Alice team up to take down the red queen in the sixth installment. By no means am I a die hard RE fan. I've played 5, a few of the wii games, 6(which blew), and Revelations. I've seen a playthrough of Resident Evil 4 as well, though I doubt that means much. So while I have experience with the games and consider myself a casual fan, I can't comprehend the frustration of bigger fans of the franchise than I. You're all more than welcome to disagree with me on the appeal of the movies. But with the final chapter, the story is shit, there's 40 cuts in every 15 seconds, and what's probably going to piss everyone off the most *SPOILER WARNING* is they turned Umbrella into a religious cult. A fucking cult. I'm not kidding.
Well, calling "city" to Andalucia deserves a sin

CoolFugginRanchKid
I think they're actually making a TV series
Exactly how I felt. I was so baffled at people trying to rate the movie good to oppose the critics, like they did with Suicide Squad.
Like fan of the video game franchise or not, which I am as well, this was easily one of the worst movies ever made; hell even when compared to other video game movies it's pretty terrible and that's saying something!! People who didn't realize how trash this movie have to be stupid, like Suicide Squad had a *few* redeemable qualities but this could've been better if a 13 year old directed it instead. Hahaha
I'd rather watch a 20 part Netflix miniseries based on the 1993 Super Mario Brothers movie.

She was a damsel for most of the fighting from building to building. Am I the only one who noticed this? How is she even an assassin?
JejuneFox Problem with the games too. Despite being trained assassins, they are easily outrun by merchants and even children. Sometimes, they seem too powerful, and at other times, they are pathetic.
I can go from to slaughtering all the guards while taking no damage, to not being able to catch a courier
Good thing i had sleep darts
I was also surprised at how well the soldiers kept up with people actually running up, over and through houses... like they had some kind of minimap telling them exactly where the assassins were AND superspeed! They wouldn’t have given up the chase quick but nor should they have been around every corner the assassins turned
As a fan of the games, I didn't really like the movie but I like how they included the bleeding effect.
The thing I didn't like about this movie is how much of the games' lore they just ignored or assumed we all knew. They didn't once mention the Precursors, or Warren Vidic's creation of the Animus in the 80s, the Templar Satellite launch in 2012, Desmond Miles' time as Subject 17, what the Pieces of Eden could actually do, the fact that there's more than one Apple, EAGLE VISION, or really any of the moral and philosophical ideologies of the Assassins and Templars.
Ah you missed a trick. When they open the box 13:37 you should have played the Apple start up sound.
The first game did a good job of keeping things vague when they needed to be. Also, the genetic code for free will is insane. In the game the apple was a device which could enslave or control people, it was also one of many. Movie is over complicating for whatever reason.

it could've been more even. maybe it could show Desmond going through the first 3 games leading to his death. would be hard to fit 3 games into a single movie but i've seen it happen, a huge plot squeezed down into a single movie and it still being good
also, i'd really like to see Haytham on the big screen, he was such a cool character and i'd love to see him portrayed by an actor
The movie was complete shit, but I'm mad that CinemaSins doesn't comment its huge historical flaws (for example they used a Spanish flag that wasn't invented until centuries after that or that the queen Isabel/Elizabeth looked nothing like the actual Queen).
Or that Andalucía is a region not a city...
From the DEV of Ubisoft: "The Animus will give a context to the user within his/her knowledge, also Abstergo is modifying stuff"
Or just this is not a time travel thingy but a regression. They don't move from place or time, they experience it. And because of that the scenario can be modified. Also for pure movie reasons, there is no proper spanish flag at that moment, and the rest of the world would be confused with the white and red cross flag, which was only for ships.
Cheers!
Ubisoft, stop trying to justify bad plot holes in shitty movies.
Well the queen thing is not that bad since Leonardo in AC2 looks nothing like real life Leonardo did
How do you know what the real Queen looks like? She ruled about 5 centuries ago and there were not any pictures of her. Paintings of her could be faked by the artists to make her look in a better way.

in the games if you don't follow what the ancestors did you desynchronize and lose the game
Only during the missions, and even then its basically "do it your way" for a lot of it. The rest of the game is just running around the open world stabbing dudes.
during the missions aka memories you need to follow guidelines or you get desynchronized but outside of the memories you are able to do anything
How do they keep that rule when the game is free roam?
missions, like gta
I am going to assume they based it how typical memory works. Most of the time, when big events happen, humans have a predictable memory priority. In the game, the main quests can be seen as the main memory, all things that were the most impactful. Side quests, while still important are things that do not change the big picture in the end, if anything they just added more clarity to the main memories. For example, I just failed a big exam, a side quest/memory would give more backstory on why, such as gaming all night. Regardless if i actually remembered that side memory (remembering could be seen as completing the sidequest) the main memory isn't altered because it is already told and done. And of course, the last on priority list would most likely be free roam travel. The travel, unless some event happened on the way, is seen as clutter, and not worth remembering unless specified. I can take whatever path i need to get to my job, but if nothing eventful happened, by the end of the week i most likely won't remember which paths i took, since it was not important
This isn't time travel. This dude never played an Assassin's Creed game.
He probably didn't, but that's beside the point. If your movie doesn't hold up without the viewer knowing the source material... then the movie sucks balls, period.

How did they mess up this movie?? Just have them do awesome assassin stuff not put me to sleep within the first 10 minutes.
Because, like the games, they often focus way too hard on the modern times stuff, which has been boring/awful/confusion since the first game.
I completely disagree. The modern day segment is what made everything desmond experienced in the animus matter; what the implications of his memory-travels were on the present day. without it, one might as well play prince of persia or any other period game. They killed the series when they took away modern day mode. Modern day mode isn't where the movie went wrong, it went wrong because it expected people who no nothing about the game to get what was going on, and it's like... they focused on the wrong things and focused on the right things the wrong way. #TheyShouldn'tHaveKilledOffDesmond
John Jackson The modern day stuff is made interesting by the glyph challenges in AC2, if you could bother to do them XD
hell, they could've just made some small changes to the Assassins Creed II story (such as character names and certain plot points outside of the animus) and they would've had a perfect movie....ok so they would've had to cut a large amount of stuff out to shorten the length but it could've worked.

@@seanfactors9285 played pretty much all of them movie was still crap there's a reason it didn't get a sequel nothing you could possibly say could change that
The shitty thing is that the video games, although the story is ridiculous, are actually really cool and interesting, and if they'd explained the backstory better and had better character development and action scenes, the movie would be so much better. But this movie was written and edited so poorly that it ruined the whole thing. There were no explanations, the fight scenes were terrible and confusing, characters were awful, it disregarded the actual story of the game, etc. The concept could have been done so much better, and could've made a pretty cool movie. But of course, it had to be like every other video game movie and be fucking terrible.
And I can't believe I forgot to mention the story of this movie was absolutely awful. I didn't give 2 shits about Aguilar. And Callum and everybody else was so one dimensional that when Callum switched sides, in the movie theater, I literally said WTF out loud. Not because it was a twist, but because it didn't make sense. Why? Why did he suddenly understand the Assassins Order and decide to become one? It doesn't make sense. Ruins the legacy of the video games, that actually had really cool stories, both in Modern Day and in the past.
Honestly, if they had just stuck to the video game, it would not only be a million times better, but they would have saved themselves a LOT of money. Fewer actors, fewer sets to be made, fewer props, etc. I feel like they threw away an awesome story to try to make it look cooler, which failed horribly. What really annoyed me was that when Cal wakes up in Abstergo, he's IN AN ANIMUS-LOOKING CHAIR! They literally built a chair that looks JUST like the Animus in the second game (but blue), but decided to use that weird-ass robot arm instead.
And who the heck is Cal, Aguilar, and...all of this crap? Why did they feel the need to completely and utterly change the story and characters? It makes absolutely no sense to me. Where's Desmond and Lucy? Altair and Ezio?
Yeah. All things considered, I LIKE that they went with a new story, but they packed it with too much plot and didn't explain any of the concepts or characters. The script and editing are the biggest problems. The direction, acting, music, effects and production design are actually as good as one could hope for in a movie like this. And after seeing McBeth, which is actually good, it's impressive that the studios didn't tamper more with this movie, as the two have a very similar style and tone.
Honestly I wish this movie was a prequel to the games, THAT would have been the best. They didn't want to give away the storyline of the games so people would still have to play them, but this would've been a good way to put new people on (if it were good) as well as good ppl who already played more content.

Sam Forbes-Fairfax I've played two of the games.
Still thought the movie was a waste of time and money.
Not gonna lie Fassbender isn't even the best actor in the film. Brendan Gleeson is a much better actor let alone Jeremy Irons
Lets just put it this way, the movie shat over everything from the games. Didn't even really follow anything from the games really. This was more like bad fan fiction as most adaptations seem to be these days. It didn't explain the conflict between Templars and Assassins, didn't explain the Piece of Eden. More like someone saw one or two of the video game trailers and noticed the Apple and thought "I don't know much if anything about the lore or conflicts within the game series and that's why I'm making this movie." It's just like when Ubisoft made Unity damn it.
The movie is a failure to fans because it doesn't portray this shit properly and it's a failure to those who never played the games because they are not going to understand jack shit. So don't worry when 1/3 is over and doesn't explain a god damn thing. It doesn't when it's 3/3 over and it infuriates the hell out of me.
I should have known something was wrong the second they showed them cutting Aguilar's finger off. I mean, sure, that was in the first game a thing, but this past assassin lived after the time of Altair and was basically during the time Ezio was becoming an assassin and they discontinued that practice when Altair took over. I assumed that this was like an older Animus when I saw the trailers, since each new one we saw in the games got more and more simple to now being basically a computer and an oculus. But no. Movie decides that it's going to take place in a universe where nothing in the games happened. Then sudden a new meaning to the maxim "Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted" comes in and I'm left wanting to punch everyone involved with the movie in the mouth.
And they keep saing assassins creed , when it`s the assassins, and only they talk about the creed they follow. And no gods where shown, no precursor tech. I agree with everything yo wrote.
This takes place in the same universe. They wrote a novelization which is more fleshed out. This version of the Animus is different from the Animi we've seen before, as you notice, it causes a full on dissociative bleeding effect within 1 use. It took several days for that to happen to Desmond.
I'm not sure, but the Italian assassins and the Byzantine assassins didn't have to cut their fingers off. It's said that Altair changed the layout of the hidden blade so that it wouldn't be needed, but perhaps they just chose to keep it in. None of the characters from the games were included here so they had free reign. The differences were done on purpose because it had to make sense to non-fans because it's a movie, and if they continued using the same stuff that's in the games, they'd have to do a lot of explaining for a movie. It's bad, sure, but I don't think it's THAT bad.
TheBelieveit1 quit your whining
TheBelieveit1 THIS IS PERFECT! This exact comment*perfectly* describes the movie! This is not sarcasm, I actually mean everything. I knew right away it'd be shitty when they cut off that finger. Never once did they explain their objectives in this war; Assassins=Free Will, Templars=Complete Order. The only connection to the actual games I saw was the rope dart. Everything was bullshit.
Your first two paragraphs make sense and I'd have to agree with you there, but the last paragraph is nonsense.
In AC2 Leonardo had to rework the hidden blade designs in order for Ezio not to lose his finger. He even joked about it. Animus was never actually explained, not in games and not in the movie either. Reason why it looks rather simple in games is because you never actually see it working, you're playing your ancestors, so it's pointless to make it complex looking and working, and I guess they wanted something cool looking in the movie.
I mean, movie is an absolute crap, but your nitpickings from the third paragraph make no sense.
For those wondering, the line "nothing is true" does actually make sense if the movie would bother to give it proper context.
they don't use time travel, he's not going anywhere in space or time, Abstergo is using his DNA to SEE into the past not TRAVEL there
penn penn 3:39
technacaly whoever uses the animus takes control of the ancestor but still needs to be 80% synchronized
it doesnt change history but that was a not big but was spoken almost every time in the intro missions in all assassins creed games
As a fan of the game franchise this movie really made me cringe. It was awful.
Yeah that was pretty bad... to me the worst part was when the movie started and the best part was when it ended.
Nick Droege it like it tbh
The worst part that is actually IN the film is easily the bleeding effect, just for it's non-explanation. The best part is the execution scene up to the entry into the animus. On it's own, that part is pretty cool.
In fact, context could fix so much that's wrong with this movie.
The only good thing about the movie was when it was over
As someone that has only played the first game and thought it sucked, it made me cringe too.

Angel García. Well the movie took place way back in the dark ages.
1:13 I don't blame you for not understanding the Creed's motto. You'd have to play the games, specifically the 4th, Revelations, to fully grasp its meaning.
As the character of Ezio Auditore explains: "It is an observation of the nature of reality. To say, *nothing is true*, is to realize that the foundations of society are fragile, and that we must be the shepherds of our own civilization. To say, *everything is permitted*, is to understand that we are the architects of our actions, and that we must live with their consequences, whether glorious or tragic."
Technically Revelations is the fourth game in the series. But the third in the Ezio trilogy. Also i never got very far in revelations.
You're right. It's the 4th.
React2Quick, give it a shot again, i personally like revelations the most
React2Quick Yeah definitely give it a shot, it's not as enjoyable as Assassin's Creed 2 or Brotherhood, when talking about the Ezio trilogy I mean, but the story is quite good. And it also completes Altaïr's story, along with Ezio's.
If you can't adjust to the dated gameplay I suggest to watch a movie of it on UA-cam, where all the cutscenes have been edited together. Cause the ending is quite worth it in my opinion haha.

Then the guy who worked at the cinema asked if we had been waiting for a cutscene, after he watched us watch the credits for 15 minutes while he played on his phone, then, and my friend said yes, and he replied to him that we could've checked the reel or some shit and seen if there was another scene.
