I love how Dewey and movie Sonic share the same adorable goofball adventurous hyperactive kid energy. Besides that they are both short furries with blue as their predominant color
The Knuckles Tribe is actually a thing in the games! They existed thousands of years in the past, before getting obliterated by a water monster. Knuckles is the last of his kind. Sonic games have fun stories.
Tails appearing actually made everyone in my theater scream so loud that I couldn't even tell what he was saying. I'm not a big Sonic fan, but I like Tails and I'm glad it made everyone in the theater happy. Glad you put the clip in, now I know what he said.
Yup. Did anyone notice that when he gets hit and has his rings he is ok, but when he gets hit and doesn’t have any rings he gets knocked unconscious? A beautifully subtle accurate nod to the games.
@@DnCtopher oh, i noticed that he lost rings every time he got hit but i didn't notice him getting knocked out without them!! so much attention to detail, it's crazy (i was waiting for it to be mentioned in the video :
DnCtopher Did you notice that he kept calling people he knew food names? Donut Lord, Pretzel Lady. I heard a theory that it was done to give a better reason for why he calls Robotnik “Eggman,” so it doesn’t seem out of place
The studio had to change it. Everyone was calling it scary. Video game movies that suck can make money from people who love the game and see it before reviews and stuff come out and people who never played it but think it looks interesting. I’m guessing the producers were banking on moms bringing their children to see it, but no one would have gone to see that abomination.
I can’t tell if it was a publicity stunt or not cuz like who the hell thought that was good. But on the other hand that was so many dollars in advertisement and it would’ve been a gamble whether or not people actually went to see it after it all
Brobuscus God. Who thought that looked fine though lol. At least they fixed it. And hopefully the people who worked overtime on it got compensation for their efforts
"Remember the coup in Pakistan?" "No." "Or the uprising in Azerbaijanistan?" "That's not even a country." _"Exactly! _*_And you can thank Robotnik for that."_*
"Yes, they could call anybody, but they call you," was a line I wasn't expecting. People call Tom because they trust him to help when they're in trouble, no matter how small. I really liked the conversation because I could see both sides--wanting a chance to rise to the occasion on one hand and loving your community on the other. People feel both those things, sometimes in conflict, and it's just such a realistic conflict for a movie with a pretty silly concept. (Nothing wrong with silly concepts, I loved the extremes of this movie as well!)
They weren't homaging the Quicksilver Time In A Bottle scene. No joke, they were doing an homage of that scene in Over the Hedge where the squirrel drinks an energy drink and gains super speed. Not joking.
Can we appreciate how this movie has human characters that are actually interesting and memorable besides Robotnik? Everyone from Tom and Maddie, to Maddie's family, to Agent Stone. * Tom is an awesome and lovable guy, and probably the first human friend Sonic has that can actually hold his own against Robotnik instead of being a useless/annoying kid that's prone to getting in the way. Looking at you, Chris Thorndyke. * Maddie is a loyal supportive wife to Tom to whom she is already happily married and so doesn't have a stupid romantic subplot that cuts into Sonic's screentime. While she doesn't get a lot of time to interact with Sonic, you can still tell that she's willing to help him with his problems any way she can. And thankfully, THANKFULLY, she's not Sonic's love interest. We don't need a repeat of Princess Elise. * Maddie's family are thankfully both used sparingly. If they had been there throughout the whole movie, they probably could've been extremely annoying. But for the most part, they were good. Maddie's sister provides a good counter-balance to Maddie's perfect relationship with Tom by being the angry sister-in-law that hates his guts. And Jojo got to give Sonic his trademark shoes, which was a very cute scene. And thankfully she stayed with her mother instead of tagging along and potentially getting in the way. Again, we don't need another Chris Thorndyke-type character in this franchise. * Agent Stone, while he didn't really get to help his boss with fighting Sonic, still managed to be a welcome addition to the cast. I know some people think Stone should've been Snively from Sonic SatAM, but I don't think that would made sense; Snively was a backstabber that plotted against Robotnik whenever he could, while Stone is genuinely loyal. And leads into my next point about him: for once, Robotnik gets a henchman that willingly serves him and is completely loyal without being a bumbling oaf (like the ones Robotnik/Eggman usually gets in the various cartoons) or a mindless, voiceless automaton like Metal Sonic. Though I'd definitely like to see Metal Sonic make his live-action film debut. I hope to see all of them come back for the sequel.

I was not happy with how CinemaSins treated this movie so I had to come to CinemaWins. But I love how CinemaWins and CinemaSins sometimes overlap and acknowledge the same things XD Thus establishing it wasn't really a sin. Olive garden wasn't actually product placement. According to Pat Casey (one of the writers of the movie), it was meant to be a joke that was somehow mentioned more than once in the movie.
Extra Wins: 1. During the Green Hill Zone scene, the music that plays is "Friends" by Hyper Potions, which was the music for the Opening in Sonic Mania 2. The Echidna tribe is most likely a reference to Sonic Adventure and the Echidna Tribe in that game. 3. That version of Green Hill Zone is actually a fan-remix 4. His racecar bed is from the comic books, which in it of itself was based on Sonic Drift 5. In Robotnik's music list, the band Crush 40 is there. They did vocal themes for Sonic Adventure 1&2, Sonic Heroes, Sonic '06, and Shadow the Hedgehog 6. Robotnik's theme is a remix of his theme from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon and his theme from Sonic Unleashed
Actually, what’s really sad is that the studio who animated Sonic and re-animated him went out of business. They were a company out of Vancouver, and it was a big story in Canada. Edit: thank you all for commenting corrections and facts about what happened. I was aware that the Sonic movie didn't cause the closure of the studio, but it's interesting to hear all of the different reasons why this happens in the animation industry.
@@alliew31 Do the animation studio get a percentage of the movie's sales? I would think they had a fixed rate / price, anything else sounds pretty risky and stupid.
It's a weirdly risky field, given how vital their work is to modern studio movies. The studio that did the digital effects for Life of Pi went under just months after they won an Oscar.
It was a parent company decision to close the studio actually they have I believe 4 other studios around the world, the Vancouver studio closure sucked but it had totally nothing to do with the sonic movie I hate that people keep on blaming the Sonic movie for that.
Spoiler alert Maybe because Robotnic is on a mushroom planet he’ll have to survive of a all mushroom diet which could alter his body type to be more plump. Like in the games
@@davidhong1934 because i am not the most hardcore fan of sonic when i first heard of the mushroom world my first thought was nintendo based on all the disdain they spoke about it making me think that this was a soft jab at one of their competitors.
I wholeheartedly gave many praises and respect to the animators for all of their grueling hours it took for them to pull off these changes to sonic. This movie is a sheer delight and comedy gold.
A lot of people don't seem to know that Olive Garden didn't sponsor the movie at all and the whole thing was just something the writers came up with. Pat Casey mentioned this in an interview with FANDOM if I remember correctly.
I thought it was funny at the end, the one in the beginning really felt shoe horned for a joke. That Zillow ad was bad though, it was like 5 seconds on screen of just a laptop. 🤢
@@Devon.with.an.i The point of mentioning Olive Garden in the beginning is to make it clear that the government monitors his phone. They know he likes Olive Garden because he has the app so in the end they give him the gift card.
I’m still hoping that tails game va will still be his va in the second sonic movie but knowing movies his va will probably not be the game va cause of not being that popular of a va/actor too most people
The movie’s officially 1 year old!!! Seeing this movie on Valentine’s Day made it less depressing There may be hope for video game movies! Carrey steals so much of the scenery as Robotnik Love how they play around with Sonic's speed The action is so much fun Happy they stuck close to the source material Can’t wait to see Tails next!
One thing I really appreciated about this movie was they avoided the entire trite "romance subplot" nonsense by having James Marsden and Tika Sumpter's characters already married. They knew we were here for Sonic and Robotnik, not boring human relationship drama. Overall I really enjoyed this film. Just like Detective Pikachu, it knew when to stick to the games and when to do it's own thing, and most importantly it made the characters actually worth caring about. Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't see Michael Hogan as anyone but Saul Tigh.
My sister has this theory that Sonic's speed power comes from absorbing energy in any form. The example here is the emotional energy from having friends like Tom and Maddie, and upon hearing Tom declare to Robotnik in the third act that Sonic is his friend, that is emotional energy enough to revive Sonic and give him the strength to defeat Robotnik. Now imagine that the sequel throws in the Chaos Emeralds, and the energy Sonic absorbs from them makes him Super Sonic.
@RICARDO LABOY To learn more about where my sister takes the Blue Blur and his brand-new Freedom Fighters, and to check out some other stories from other fandoms, follow her at FanFiction.net under the author "Kellie Fay"
There's this theory that sonic was powered with a chaos emerald as a baby, which could be the reason why the echidnas were after him in the first place. It could also be why he generates electricity everytime he gets emotional.
I personally like the Metal Sonic thing lots of people think of. Using Sonic's quill, Robotnik was able to give his ship speed similar to Sonic's, complete with lasers. And he still has his ship for spare parts to build Metal Sonic, and Sonic's quill, which has infinite energy. If there IS a problem with this theory, feel free to reply.
@Austin Batton Not even remotely true. Despite it being flawed, it had heart, jokes that landed well, it was brimmed with easter eggs, good acting, great dialogue, a decent plot and tom and maddie maintained a healthy relationship and didn't argue once throughout the entire movie. A sequel wouldn't even be in the works if it wasn't for the fans who supported the movie, and it wouldn't have recieved an audience score above 90% if there was "nothing good" about this movie.
Its safe to say Sonic only knows stuff through watching us live our lives. His Payphone reference is likely a callback to Bill and Ted since he calls it a teleportation box. @cinemawins
This movie just hits me like nothing else has this year, and every time I watch it i remember what it was like before the lockdown. this movie just means alot to me, watching it is like a nice warm bowl of soup.
And now there’s a sequel for April 2022. Let’s hope it keeps the same atmosphere of this one. I’m just glad they kept the originality of Knuckles being a rival to Sonic.
Fun fact: Olive garden wasn't actually a product placement. According to one of the writers, pat casey, it was meant to be a joke that was somehow mentioned countless of times in the movie. But given that one of the themes of the movie is 'found family' and olive garden's slogan is 'when you're here, you're family, I think it all makes sense.
14:58 "Jaleel White's shoes are not easy to fill" And Ryan Drummond, and Jason Griffith, and Roger Craig Smith, and a bunch of others who have voiced the blue blur over the years.
My thoughts exactly. I mean, Jaleel may be the most famous among them, but he’s so far removed from the character at this point, man. He’s never even voiced Modern Sonic in any official Sonic shows; like, that’s a hard line to draw.
I watched an interview where Ben Schwartz talked about what a huge deal it was for him to voice Sonic, and he name dropped pretty much all the English Sonic VAs, and I remember thinking it was cool just how into this he really was.
I've never been so impressed with a team hearing a response and working hard to fix it. The animators went above and beyond on this and I really hope they got the support and compensation they truly deserve.
there’s also a scene where tom gives three ducks crossing the street named (“Daffy, Donald, Daisy..”) which could be a reference to Ben Schwartz playing Dewey!
One definitive win for me was having the song “friends” from Sonic Mania in the movie. The song is wonderful and the two guys that made it seemed to really appreciate it being in the movie.
And for the people who don’t know, the ‘two guys’ OP mentioned are known as Hyper Potions on youtube, and they made the trailer and intro music for Sonic Mania, as well as a few songs for Team Sonic Racing And of course they also have plenty of original songs as well :3
I love the fact that Maddie made 2 different cakes related to Toms application to join the SFPD. 1 where he got accepted and 1 where he got denied. I'd call that a preperation win. What do you think of that win I made up?
Two notes, one happy, and one unfortunately sad: The Good: Jim Carey in this movie actually isn't too far off from the comics and Sonic Boom interpretations of Eggman. And before detractors say anything, have you *seen* the Sonic Boom TV show? Eggman is a fantastic character in that. The Bad: You said you hoped the studio that did the reanimation was compensated. Unfortunately, this is the last film that the studio did before it was shut down. It was the Vancouver office for Moving Picture Company, and that office had previously done Life of Pi (Oscar winning), Watchmen, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and other films.
I’m sure I’m just nitpicking, but the Sonic movie wasn’t what made that studio go under. At least, not fully. The studio was already suffering and having issues, and while yes, they were paid, and the deadline was extended for them to redo CGI, unfortunately the Sonic movie was the straw that broke the camels back. But there was a lot of stuff beforehand that made them go under.
The second movie hopefully will introduce the chaos emeralds, and Super Sonic, with a post-credit scene of Eggman meeting with Knuckles who is looking for the person who stole his emerald. The third film would show Knuckles actually having the emerald stolen from him by a Sonic-like figure. Fast-forward, Knuckles is hunting Sonic down (due to Eggman lying to him) and this leads to Knuckles stealing the emeralds from Sonic relatively early in the film. Sonic and Tails work together to find Knuckles, while Knuckles is trying to find his own answers. They cross paths at least two or three times in the film before realizing they are being played. Eggman reveals his true plan, and the true antagonist that ends of going beyond Eggman- is Metal Sonic (made from Eggman's tech, and Sonic's quill). Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails team up to defeat Metal Sonic (currently being powered up by the Master Emerald at this time in the film). Amy would be in this film, but her role will be minor, as the next film would kind of focus on building Amy up similarly to how Sonic the Hedgehog 2 would build up Tails and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 would build up Knuckles. The fourth film would be inspired by the story in which Amy gains her Piko Piko Hammer. The story would be slightly altered- leading to a Super Genesis Wave (for those who don't know, it's a large scale Chaos Control that reshapes reality) that ends up merging the world we know from Sonic, and the human world of Tom, Maddie, and Doctor Robotnik. The fifth film would be an adaptation of the Sonic Adventure storyline, introducing Chaos, Chao, Tikal, the E-100 series of robots, and the Super Sonic vs Perfect Chaos fight. The story would more than likely be altered slightly, but not enough to ruin the integrity of the original story. The story would be told from several perspectives including Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Big the Cat, and E-102: Gamma.
A fair thought, but rather than simply going over the games, draw from the whole sonic multi-verse. Sally Acorn would make for one heck of a female lead, the combination of threats and gifts keeping the upper class in Robotnik's pocket from Sonic Underground combined with the resistance fighters of the previously referenced SatAM, _and_ adding in the best characters from the games. And don't forget the mild body horror of a well done roboticiser! Slow without dragging replacement of organic parts with metal ones via a "magic" beam, last think to go is the face so you can see the fear and anger disappear as their mind is taken over and they become a helpless minion having a form similar to their old one but in cold unfeeling metal....... Keep the best, trash the rest and tell their own story with the characters, setting, and basic premise!
Then the sixth would be shadow silver espio and vector hired by robonic to track down the team and there would be a big second act fight then they would relise egg man and metal sonic were watching from a roof and they go off then shadow silver espio and vector join team and go after egg man and metal sonic and big power of friendship blah blah they win the end
I'm so glad someone else thinks that Sonic's other friends should wait if the next movie is going to introduce Tails. I really want the sequel to focus on Sonic's & Tails' relationship, because adding more characters would put less focus on that, and would make the story feel all cluttered and make Tails less important.
I agree 100%. Mostly because we don’t see a whole lot about Sonic and Tails’ origin stories in the main games. We see references and explanations in other media (comic books and tv shows) but we never get a true, canon origin story. Just a general idea that he was bullied, Sonic found him, and took him in. I would love to see how the writing team would treat their origin story and their relationship as a whole, since especially in recent games, Tails has been put on the back burner (except in IDW) and a lot of his development was lost, not to mention their relationship seemingly being boiled down to stereotypical “best friends”.
I feel like we can get Tails and Knuckles in the same movie... with maybe a mention of Amy Rose. Save, Amy Rose, Shadow, and Rouge for the 3rd movie. We don't necessarily need to get Silver anytime soon. If things work out I'd like 7 Sonic the Hedgehog movies. We can introduce the chaos emeralds in the second movie but maybe not have them become too plot relevant until the 3rd movie. Take the time to build up the plot while keeping it coherent.
Frenzyshark I’m not so sure about Knuckles; considering this is the first time any of the characters will interact in this universe, in order to build relationships between the three, it’s gonna take time. And if they don’t wait until after Tails’ and Sonic’s friendship is concretely founded to add in Knuckles, it’ll probably feel a bit rushed. Especially considering how, in this universe’s canon, the Knuckles Clan (or, at least, a clan of echidnas) are the ones responsible for the death of Sonic’s primary guardian. That’s not to say I don’t think they could pull it off; I just think it would probably be the smarter play to hold off for another movie. That said, I 100% agree with the rest of what you said.
A personal win for me is that there’s a bit of similarities with this movie and the Bumblebee movie. Both are made by Paramount and have a human teaming up with something from an another planet. Also a little thing I noticed is Dr. Robotnik said “He was just a silly little alien. He didn’t belong here.” to which Tom responds with “That alien knew more about being human than you’ll ever be.” which is similar to Bumblebee when Agent Burns said “He can’t feel it’s just a machine.” then Charlie Watson responds with “He’s more human than you’ll ever be.” Almost like these new Paramount nostalgia movies have the theme of having alien characters that are better at being human than the actual humans. So this win is for the cool theme. *DING*
Really enjoyed this movie. It sucks that the whole controversy with the Sonic design happened at all, especially because at the end of it, I believe the animation studio shut down. But I loved Ben as Sonic's voice, I loved Jim as Robotnik, and I loved all the little easter eggs throughout the movie. The plot was kind of the usual for this type of "strange creature in the human world" thing, but the dialogue and acting carried it well. And I loved that Tails' VA from the games got to do the stinger (although, when it comes time for the sequel, I kind of doubt she'll actually get to do that. Or if they do, they'll probably try to underpay her because she's "not a real actor")
It is because they didn't get paid enough and that they were working under stress due to the old design and shit and so most of the animators left and well yeah.
@@diousthomas8878 That is not what happened. According to someone who actually worked on the movie and sites, 'it was a parent company, operating in an expensive part of Vancouver (Yaletown), with a huge facility, and constant freebies and goodies all day (to mask the completely banana's hours), and they had people cemented in positions, that had built a pipeline to tailor to their existence, holding the whole studio up'. It wasn't sonic's fault. They thought it would be better to invest money elsewhere.
@@LoxyTheReindeer The controversy had happened simply because the higher ups thought that the general public wouldn't care about Sonic's design. The problem with that is that the target audience (6-12 year-olds) AND THEIR PARENTS (Who would have been around when Sonic was at his zenith in popularity) have played a Sonic game before.

8:40 apparently Carrey improvised the entire dance AND chose the song lol people also suspected the mushroom planet was a jab at Nintendo, with how much Sonic dislikes the planet, since Mushroom Kingdom and all
Note regarding the drying of sonic's quills. It's definitely centripetal, and sonic uses the drag and air resistance from the centripetal force to generate kinetic and thermal energy, which results in a chain reaction with the wet quills, drying them in rapid succession and causing instantaneous thermal expansion. And then since there's no water molecules left to start a chain reaction with the drag, sonic can simply just partake in some more centripetal force to flatten the quills out. Also, zoomer here. In Australia, we're full of our favourite payphones from Telstra themselves. funny thing is they made them free a couple years back

Fortunately, as far as I'm aware, what happened with the Sonic movie had nothing to do with that. Something about taxation, I think.
They also did the Cats movie and some other ones that did pretty poorly, so they couldn’t make it even with the sonic success.

Despite it being flawed, it had heart, jokes that landed well, it was brimmed with easter eggs, good acting, great dialogue, a decent plot and tom and maddie maintained a healthy relationship and didn't argue once throughout the entire movie. Two notes, one happy, and one unfortunately sad:
The Good: Jim Carey in this movie actually isn't too far off from the comics and Sonic Boom interpretations of Eggman.
Kinda funny how so many people had such low hopes for this movie at first when they saw the original Sonic model. Turns out it's quite a good movie.
This needs more likes!
I agree! And they should add the Comics, Sonic X, the rest of the Sonic cartoons and the Original Sonic Movie.
Not bad, but you lost me at four.
I'm so glad someone else thinks that Sonic's other friends should wait if the next movie is going to introduce Tails.
I really want the sequel to focus on Sonic's & Tails' relationship, because adding more characters would put less focus on that, and would make the story feel all cluttered and make Tails less important.
True, but also: Big the Cat movie when
The Illusionist YESS
10:47 I really wanted him to finish the line.

*DING*
Half wrong half right, humans are the reason the plot of like 8 sonic games connect together.
Husna Harghandiwal God damnit, didn’t there studio once an award or something?
That sucks ass.
Husna Harghandiwal I was about to comment about this, so thank you. I’m glad someone else said it.
I thought it was cute how Colleen O’Shaughnessy (Tails’ voice actress) got in on this project!
saw this in theaters with four friends of mine; we each brought a notepad and had a friendly competition of “who can write down the most easter eggs”
i lost
A worthy competition nonetheless...
1:41 surprised no one caught the fact that speed cams cap out at 250-300mph, in the original cut it read a little over 700 mph.
makes more sense really. what kind of car that isn't a formula 1 can reach 700?
@@charityquill4965 Formula 1 doesn't reach 700mph. 700MPH is reserved for planes.
8:40 apparently Carrey improvised the entire dance AND chose the song lol people also suspected the mushroom planet was a jab at Nintendo, with how much Sonic dislikes the planet, since Mushroom Kingdom and all
I totally forgot about Mushroom Hill Zone. Been awhile since I played Sonic and Knuckles.
Wow, never knew that!
2:40
Yea. I like that aspect.
As his canon age is meant to be 15/16.
It varied in the games.
Since the original game, Sonic has always been 15.
Ty-Sh -Co
Oh ok. I remembered on one game it was 16 but I didn’t know it was the first.
I think he's 16 after Generations
Sonic is 13-14 years old in the movie universe
Sonic Spinball WAS stupid hard. The clip at the end was a nostalgia bomb. (Was the fourth zone insanely hard for you too?)
In Australia, we're full of our favourite payphones from Telstra themselves. funny thing is they made them free a couple years back
Sonic the Hedgehog movie is an absolute masterpiece and they outdid themselves making it!
can you please make an “Everything Great About ‘Rise Of The Guardians’”? pretty pleaaaaaase
Yeah
I watched that movie!
It's good
Ooo yes!
I just love how Jim Carrey first presence as Dr.Robotnik automatically earn him three more win counts, because he just deserved it
Just wanna say to CinemaWins that its nice being able to watch a channel thats really looking for the good in all sorts of films, especially the ones that have people divided like BvS and Justice League, its actually helped with my general attitude towards certain types of films and giving them the chance they deserve. Please keep them coming, your channel is fantastic and I'm there every time a new video is up
Also Sonic was a fun film. Wasnt anything more but didnt really try to be imo, it was just a decent watch that I couldn't really complain about, Carrey was easily the best part for damn sure
I was literally just listening to my favorite Sonic OST and now this? Excellent.
For the record, it was the Sonic Generations Classic version of City Escape
"Endless Possibilities".
'Reach for the Stars' & 'Speak With Your Heart'
Rollin' around at the speed of sound!
As a Zoomer, I can confirm that, while rare, I have seen payphones occasionally.
Ironically, I don't know who ZZ Top is.
Here’s a few movies I’d like to see a win video on. (I know you get a lot of suggestions to keep up with. Obviously, you don’t have to do _all_ of these.)
A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004)
The Cable Guy
Cars 2
Hollow Man
Home Alone 2
Hoodwinked
Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008)
Robots
Vantage Point
WALL-E
I *love* Hoodwinked. Underrated gem imo (even if the animation is super clumsy, especially by today's standards)
Hoodwinked! It's been over a thousand years...!
@@treehugger444 ME TOO
@@bessieburnet9816 YEAH
WALL-E YESSSSSSSSS
"When you add Olive Garden and The Fast and the Furious together you get one thing. Family." That's such a good line !

"Jaleel White's shoes are not easy to fill."
Martin Burke, Ryan Drummond, Jason Griffith, Roger Craig Smith: "Am I a joke to you?"
maybe he had more experience with sonic through SATAM or AOSTH?

Jaleel also did Sonic, Sonia, and Manic in Sonic Underground.
@@DariusKetchum2010 but you get my point right?
That's no good.
11:09, don't you mean "FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC!!!!" (That's how Twilight said it on EG 2).
I honestly was amazed on how this movie made such a turn around
From laughing stock of the internet to best video game movie in history
Excuse me. I think you are forgetting the Mario movie.
You mean the really old one? I haven't seen it. But I have heard that the actors were drunk while shooting.
@@cupcakeprime559 well the joke is that it is one of the worst movies ever made. Not even just video game movies. Just movies period. Worth a watch if you get the chance.
Pixels
Viscu that movie was one of the worst comedies I've ever seen
0:42 attention to detail with the grass being discoloured/the stipes being rubbed off down the middle of the track, due to sonic running the same path over and over.
3:49 the fact that they reference sonic loosing all his rings by being hit once
“I doubt they know the way”
**WHEEZE**
Do u no da wae?
That, and Sanic reference made this movie a 5/5 instead of a 4/5 for me.
NO!!!!
Best things about this movie
- Dad Tom
- Jim Carrey
I have spoken.
And also Gary Chalk in the military scene
Tails
Redesign
Sonic: am i joke to you
You'll really love the second one
I'd love a Sonic Movie 2 follow-up to this, Sonic just deserves all the love!!
6:41 That line alone kills me, especially how the movie was released one month before the pandemic! Even if it didn't happen, it still makes me laugh!
I had a blast watching the movie with my sister and brother in law and I've never played a Sonic game. All I ever knew was he's fast and Dr. Robotnick is his nemesis. I'm glad I did not miss out on the movie, or this video.
Same! I also knew who Tails was and was really excited when he appeared. This movie's great
Aww you missed one
When robotnik is going through his music selection you can see crush 40 in it so hes got good taste
2:00 Still to this day I can't believe they referenced the Sanic meme. Its just bizare
Imagine how Tails must have looked like before the redesign.
If I remember right, Tails was added in after the redesign
Brobuscus thank goodness
Do not Google "bad taxidermy fox".
@@Brobuscus101 to be more specific, Tails was always planned to be added but his "old design" wasn't there yet. Then the redesign came and so came Tails' actual design.
Well he would look like from the live action dora and the lost city of gold SWIPER THE FOX 😂😂😂
The *Best* Thing is that a Developer Production Studio to do
*Listening their audience*
I'd say listen to the audience correctly. Justice League theatrical was the way that it was due to BvS's criticisms. Rise of Skywalker only ended up being how it was due to Last Jedi's fan response. Listening to fans can often be the downfall of movies. But in this case it ended up working out for the better.
@@rsfilmdiscussionchannel4168 'to the correct audience"
Shadow the hedgehog turned to be because fans actually sent sega massages wanting sonic with a gun.
@@ahmadkazan7994 I didn't say correct audience, I said "listen to the audience correctly". There's a difference, because listening correctly can result in a good product whilst listening incorrectly can result in a bad one.
@@rsfilmdiscussionchannel4168 I mean they did both.
@@rsfilmdiscussionchannel4168 I know,I am adding to your talk by saying they listened to the correct people and fgive shadow the hedgehog as an example.
i love aggressive kindness and when robotnik gets the latte i love the agressive kindness
"do you want a latte"
"YES I LOVE THE WAY YOU MAKE THEM"
That scene was hilarious. And also heartwarming that Robotnik genuinely appreciates Stone being around, even if it can be for his lattes.
The re-design, humor, and Jim Carrey made this movie amazing. Jim Carrey is a legend. And I'm glad they actually took the time and listened to re-design Sonic.
I think the director said that the speed bullet scene was inspired by the Hammy drinking caffeine scene from Over the Hedge. That film is pretty underrated.
Also, it takes a Dad to appreciate a Dad joke. XD
Another detail I really love is the fact that they actually did choose echidnas as the greedy intelligence species that wanted Sonic's power. It reminds me of the ancient echidna tribe from Sonic adventure 1 that had a power-hungry leader which is something I mentioned in a review
