Hello everyone, MT here with the usual trainspotting action. Derby railway station had gone through a major change since my last visit. All the platforms, tracks and signal have been adjusted to handling most of the growing passenger services. Speeds through the station have now been increased to 40mph when it was 15mph, meaning freight services will pass through faster. The platforms have rearranged with platforms one & two handles the longer distance CrossCountry services, three to four takes care of the local CrossCountry and East Midlands services and five to seven handles the East Midlands London services. The tracks and signals have been improved dramatically with less amount of points to tackle fewer delays. Overall, the new layout has created a big improvement for all the services whose stop at or pass through.
Trains include: CrossCountry Voyagers & Turbostars, East Midlands Trains 153’s, 156, 222’s & HST, GBRF 66761, Colas Rail 67023, DRS 37038/218 and Network Rail 950001

Was interesting in steam days too. The first time I saw Galatea it was at Derby.....in 1959!

Great video i only live in nottingham so i could get to Derby by train or bus. i do like Derby train station because you got a big open space and you get all types of trains

Why did they have to get rid of the 91s and 82s just after spending on new liviries for them all and they were amazing too... so smooth, very neat
