I totally agree, that is why I like this podcast so much. Too many true crime fans (and sometimes content creators) rely on 'tropes' far too often when evidence points another direction. In so many cases, you see comments or theories like "it was the husband" despite an extremely solid alibi for the husband or 'human trafficking' despite zero evidence suggesting human trafficking.
What a coincidence that I.listened to this podcast for the first time today, looked up the case for even more info and just today his remains have been identified
My thoughts on this case changed a lot after hearing from his brother in an interview! There was always a shadow of whether he was on meth around the time and the interview really answered that well. It would certainly explain the 911 call and seemingly erratic behavior afterwards. For me, it's way more likely that he simply got lost in the woods, succumbed to exposure, and hasn't been found yet because of the local politics around permission to search the brush. At this point, chances are good animals have disturbed his remains enough to make finding him that much less likely to occur sadly. I think it is possible that he was run off the road, or at least thought he was given his elevated mental state, but I don't think he ran into foul play in the end.
Nah, he knew exactly where he was(he gave the best description he could in that situation) and where he was going. He ran out of gas and things went from bad to worse for him. This isn't somewhere to be at 1am high and hostile. His 911 call had all the info in it. He was chased, they caught up to him, he was definitely killed. Who??? Well, that's the mystery. The rest isn't a mystery, it's all right there on the 911 call. I can understand every single word he says and I hear 3 distinct bursts at the end. With a semi automatic rifle and a good green light or night vision, which would be very common to use in this part of the world, someone could take him out from a pretty good distance, that's why the bursts are subtle and not so loud. He got killed, it's recorded.
Last location of his phone is about 3 miles away from his truck, so that would mean that somebody chased him 3 miles of road to kill him and walk back to his vehicle and runaway without been spotted? I doubt that somehow. Can you elaborate on that? Sorry for bad language and spelling, not native english speaker.
@@truss6282 He spoke to his brother a good 10-15 mins after the infamous call so he wasn't killed when the call ended which is what I originally thought. He didn't even mention anything about being chased or shot at when he spoke to his brother afterwards! It's starting to look like some sort of meth psychosis is the only explanation...
"One explanation"? Maybe the "Mexicans" dropped off one guy and the other drove the car down the road when the cops pulled up. The passenger either got back in the car or also hid in the woods. In fact, that is exactly what attackers would do. And Brandon could see the "Mexican" car drive off so he was momentarily not worried about them anymore. It's not hard to think of very logical possibilities.
I have watched a lot of youtube videos about Brandon, and yours is by far the best! I agree with everything you said about what happened to him that makes sense! I wish they would find his remains, for some closure and peace for his family, it's such a shame!
So how do Brandon's family bring him home? This needs some pretty heavy pressure on the powers that be to go and do a proper search and recovery for him.
30:50 What if he fights w his fiancé, leaves mad, calls Kyle to get him meth, Kyle says it’s too late but I’ll set it up for you and you can meet the guy, he goes to meet the guy on that road, there’s a few guys in the car which makes him nervous and maybe (in his mad/maybe high from earlier mind) thinks his fiancé set him up bc she doesn’t want him using, Brandon takes the drugs and hops in the truck without paying, the guys give chase, they ride up next to him, eventually he runs outta gas, they chase him in the field, the 911 call is made then. Also, another “what if”, the noises that people hear that some think are gunshots and Kyle thinks is the bridge separation things, is actually Brandon, after he says what he says on the 911 call and then there is silence except those noises that are heard separated in a sort of pattern is him holding the phone in his hand while running and as the phone swipes by his legs/pants you here that noise. Or bc Kyle came up with that odd theory of the bridge kinda far away, knows more than he’s saying. The bridge noises could be brought up bc Kyle knows he sent Brandon to pick up drugs, it went wrong and now Brandon is being chased to the bridge by these drug dealers and they called Kyle telling him what happened and saying “your brother ripped us off we followed him to the river/bridge and lost him, wtf man!” That would be good reason for Kyle to fear for his family if he told any more of what happens until years later or never. Also, the other 911 call that has never been released and we only know the parts police have told us. Say none of the above happened, near theory lol. He’s mad, leaves, goes to his dads, is driving and is so mad and high he does get in a road rage incident kind of, and he runs out of gas jumps from his truck and runs into the field. The other 911 call is “this guy just drove up next to me screaming out his window at me, I let him pass me, and he took off, then I drive a few more miles and see he’s pulled over oddly and pull up next to him to see if he’s ok, he jumps outta his truck and runs out into the field. His truck is at (wherever) and we’re leaving bc the guy is high or crazy or something.” Just my thoughts from listening to this podcast/UA-cam videos. I get different theories based on different podcasts and different tellings of events. The timelines are never told the same. The truck is unlocked or locked. Kyle takes his kid and gf home feeds the kid and leaves to get a friend and go back after his check clears. Or Kyles check clears, he gets food for his kid, goes home, then leaves again to get his friend. But that one doesn’t make sense bc what is open in a tiny town at 12:30/1:00am-ish. Hopefully someone clears their conscience or they find skeletal remains one day. Not knowing is torture for loved ones.
Is it known whether or not the last ping from his phone was anywhere near this river? Why wouldn’t the police consider searching the area where his phone last pinged?
It really is a shame that local law enforcement would allow their bad feelings toward the family to not allow searches of the property. At the end of the day everyone deserves a chance to recover a loved one’s remains regardless of their past actions. Unfortunately, local law enforcement’s reaction only serves to fuel the conspiracy theories.
Also people do way more irrational things on meth. I saw my son lose his mind and was talking about cops chasing him and drones spying on him , people sitting in trees. Scariest , weirdest thing I'd ever seen AND NEVER want to see him do it again. Before I found out that he had taken meth I thought he had lost his mind from stress. I hope anyone who sells that crap all go to prison. It truely destroys brain cells, people , families. 😕
This case totally reminds me of the couple that died in a freaking snow storm. They kept calling 911 saying there were ppl in the trees putting cars I in them. The 911 operator's response. " cars in trees?" The caller's response totally serious. "Yes, there putting the cars in the trees." All they had to do is stay in the car & the would have lived. Toxicology METH. So it really messes with your view on reality.
I knew you that you would post part 2 today.I love your channel, and I have been crossing my fingers that you guys will cover the Jennifer Kesse case real soon..As far as this case goes I gave up because it is like hitting a brick wall head on when you try to understand it..
I 100% agree with your assumptions here. People have made this case more mysterious than it really is. Brandon Lawson was another victim of his own mind. Very sad for his family
Great interpretation,I assumed he was trippin and imagined it all and ended up in the river.Ashamed his remains were found and we know he died. I don't know if they'll figure out cause of death.
one way to tell if someone is experiencing a hallucination is to ask the person to describe the people they're fearing specifically. what gender are they? what color is their hair? what are they wearing? how many are there? if they didn't actually see someone, these details will be much more blurry. - 911 operator in a major city receiving calls from people with schizophrenia and drug users every day
Totally agree with your conclusion. You guys do an excellent job of eliminating the extremely unlikely, winnowing explanations down to the simplest and most likely. You should do an episode on the 2020 presidential election - maybe you could put an end to that set of conspiracy theories. LBVS.
Apparently there was no damage at all to his truck. There were some tire marks found on the road but it couldn't be discerned whether these were from his truck or had been there before his arrival.
Yea sounds like he was super paranoid he tells his brother to run from the cops after he called them. Maybe he wouldn’t come out because he then saw his brother talk to the cops and thought his brother betrayed him and is now working with the police. He has a warrant and he is paranoid? He probably was trying to get away. If he called the neighbor, was to get his wife and he only trusted her at that time.
It’s graphic but I can tell you bears that kill a person consume almost the entire body very often times there’s a skull and maybe one or two other bones left behind and it’s the same for wild hogs. I just know this from living in Canada .
In the Milo MI case domestic pigs completely ate the two guys that were missing for years the only reason they found out was because someone saw and eventually developed a conscious so if domestic pigs will I imagine wild boars will
I’m sorry but it sounds like the meth monsters were out after him. He must have fallen or injured himself somehow and I think he died out in the fields and the wild hogs or other animals might have gotten to him. I take numerous 911 calls from those suffering from a bad trip nightly. Unfortunately it sounds just like this call.
There are some videos mentioning he was murdered by some one and they are able to decode the conversions like 'Protect your self'. I doubt when he was near the bridge some one killed him as Brandon entered unexpected entered to some wrong place??
I lived near that area of texas. its so fucking desolate, there isnt shit where he got lost. there isnt shit in Abilene or Bronte. bronte is like 3 gas stations and trailers and mesquite. I would not want to be out there at night
I think this the perfect example of why you don’t do drugs- especially meth. Did his wife or his brother have an insurance policy on him? There’s motive right there.
Well-educated UA-camrs who give no citations in their video descriptions? I would really like to be able to look into the source of some of these facts.
Are there any camera's from intersections or anything to prove Brandon was actually driving his truck? His brother has changed his story about some very important points. What if his brother was on Brandon's phone and he needed to sound crazy to disguise his voice from Brandon's. I am still needing proof he actually left home.
Where is the 911 call from the truck driver? Does anyone (podcasters or family have the call)? The deputy shows up, there is only 1 vehicle so he didnt hit them. No evidence on the truck!
This story is so much like the one with the two young people who died out in a frozen field after making repeated nonsensical calls to 911 insisting that African-Americans and Mexicans wouldn't help them--turned out to be cows. Meth is a hell of a drug!
Simple as this.....he had felony warrants that were being taken care of as stated by Brandon to others close to him. How they were being taken care of? When people get these type charges....they take deals to turn in other people to get their own charges dropped. I think he turned in some very bad people or someone linked to it. ..i think thats why he didnt come home the previous night....i think his wife thought he was being crazy when he wasn't at all....he was headed to Crowley to get away from these people..also as he stated he was being chased out of town by some mex..one car got pulled over as they was probably all three speeding (this pull over may be what cracks the case that the public doesn't know about)...he ran out of gas...he thought he had lost these people.. possibly thats why his truck was still half way on the road and he was in a hurry to bail out and run into the pature......they arrived at his truck.....they sat one guy near the truck waiting for him(the searchers seen a spot under tree where someone had been sitting)...the car went out on the back roads looking or waiting for him...he comes back to the truck thinking coast is clear.....thats where he totally runs into them.... .they chased him into the pasture....there were a few times where he felt he had gotten away....but his yellow shirt kept revealing him...the final time he saw them he had called 911...it was too late.....they took his phone with them and ditched it by the river to throw people off the trail....I think his brother was high and his recollection of the facts are way off. He could have actually been talking to the person of interest. As far as " we're out here headed towards Abilene on Bronte side". I live close to San Angelo. That's something we say because there is Winters side and Bronte side...both take the same travel time to Abilene. I believe someone was with him that he was supposed to not mention. He makes reference to we're and us. He may have been keyed off by who ever was with him. So many questions. Those gun shots are that of a shotgun..you can hear the recoil....untraceable..Im sure the laws already know this and being the reason it will make it tough to solve....possibly he was hit....went to hide....then bled out waiting for them to leave...not realizing the seriousness of his injuries. I think when he says..." I tried talking to them...I totally ran into them" was said backwards ...he meant I ran into them and I tried talking to them" full version of what I think happened 🤷
Probably Bigfoot😂🤷😎 I give up on this case. Too many if's. I think the wife , brother know more than what they are saying. Should go at the sister in law, whose probably the best bet to ever get to talk. Just my 2 cents
When he had been on meth prior did his brother or wife say that he was always out of his mind? I think he was hallucinating...he walked off the side of the road, he said he was hiding ...There are snakes everywhere and boars...they would have killed him at night. Boars are so aggressive, and if he stepped on a snake...toast...We will never know if the sherif won’t let anyone investigate the property for bones at this point.
I’m sooo confused ....what are the reasons that the property won’t be searched ??? I don’t get it what would it hurt anything my goodness a persons life could be recovered for the family. The cops didn’t like the family who tf cares
Could this case be as simple as this guy hallucinating the ‘Mexicans’ due to the meth (or other drugs) and ran off but ended up in the river, or somewhere equally dangerous? Edit: Damn it. Alice and Brett got it after I wrote that 😂🤣 Also, there are 2 things from the recording that I’m very sure of. Firstly, Brendan is breathing in the receiver as soon as the 911 rep asks if anyone has been hurt. The sound is very clear. Secondly, there is no loud sound when he goes silent (meaning he just walked off quietly somewhere and intentionally ignored the operator.) You would hear the phone being dropped, or him running away etc. There are no gunshots. Absolutely ridiculous. There is nothing that remotely sounds like a gunshot.
People that keep disregarding and saying that there was a chance that there was no foul play involved....are not helping the case. .....I wish someone would have got petitions signed and taken to our state representative......why was someone not just dropped off there with a gun....hop the fence and walk around looking for him.....if that was my brother or son or kid or wife or mom....there is no law that would keep me from staying in that field until they came to drag my ass out of there.....this kid was chased out of town by someone that wanted him gone. Ladessa says in her interview that shortly after his disappearance....people in san angelo were getting busted and murdered.....when people have felony warrants things happen to get those dropped....ladessa mentioned that BL had gotten 2 speeding tickets and wasn't arrested....the only way that happens is if someone makes the warrants disappear..... unfortunately this is the reason this will not be solved. BL was headed to fort worth to get away from these people that were chasing him. He couldn't tell anyone that he was an informant.....this is the only theory that adds up on every level. Whoever he got drugs from the day before either knew that he was an informant or they thought he was an informant. As far as the phone call.....the shots fired are from a shotgun (untraceable).......why people keep coming up with all this bogus BS have no idea how things work in the real world.
sadly past behavior predicts future behavior....look at all of the criminal activities involved in this case just within this family in itself...these phone calls are totally whacked, which leads me to think the past behavior of meth use is involved somehow but then I think about how criminals are idiots for the most part especially ones who are all doped up. I don't trust the brother at all!!!!
What if Brandon was "that way" and thats where Brandon can see them from? Also, contradicts the whole state troopers just pulled somebody over. So yes he would be scared of the cops if they were staties.
You all need to research far better. The "river" isn't even knee high when he went missing. So you think he died of exposure?? Exposure to what?? Its Texas in August at night. Lol
"If you have a warrant, maybe don't die because of it hahahaha".... this is a man with a family who was struggling, and who is missing/presumed dead.... wtf?
What if he was hiding from the cops and ran further down the road and hitchhiked somewhere and either met with foul play or else he is starting new somewhere else

So thrilled for this, I've been staying up in hopes yall would post part 2

I went into a meth psychosis once, I was literally running around the ghetto at 3am thinking I saw monsters and shit. no joke im lucky I didnt die
Wow so this kind of stuff does happen? But would it after 2 days? Maybe he kinda had a huge dose
I have been waiting for Part 2, thank you for posting! I love your channel!
I've been watching out all day in hopes that Part 2 would be uploaded. 🙂
Love your podcasts, only just started listening to you. Keep up the amazing work

@Moses Arturo Thanks, I went there and it seems like a nice service =) I really appreciate it!
Outstanding job as always adding logic to a mystery! Can you guys do the "Yuba County 5" myster?
New to y'all, and I have loved them all, so logical. Your analogy about Brandon running makes perfect sense.
Thanks for the podcast and wish you many more subscribers. Seems the logical explanation for this tragic case!!
Off topic but would LOVE to see you guys cover the Amber Tuccaro case! Her killers voice was also recorded. Still ice cold case

Right off the bat no one, absolutely no one, would set up a meeting in the middle of a 2 Lane highway in Texas to buy meth.. nope
Great job guys. Left you a nice review on Apple. Love this case. You got a new sub out of me
You'd want the cops to show up to scare away the "Mexicans" but you wouldn't want to be arrested either. There is nothing irrational about that.
I agree with your conclusion!

No damage, just open windows and door as if abandoned in a hurry
Google maps 9023 US 277 and you'll see the actual metal plate that was driven over where Brandon made that call.

Are there any camera's from intersections or anything to prove Brandon was actually driving his truck? His brother has changed his story about some very important points. What if his brother was on Brandon's phone and he needed to sound crazy to disguise his voice from Brandon's. I am still needing proof he actually left home.
If he didn't leave home he wouldn't be missing. And it's clear from his wife that they got into a fight because he was high and he left
Where is the 911 call from the truck driver? Does anyone (podcasters or family have the call)? The deputy shows up, there is only 1 vehicle so he didnt hit them. No evidence on the truck!
I believe the family has heard it and says there's nothing to it. Just a report of a car in the road.
This story is so much like the one with the two young people who died out in a frozen field after making repeated nonsensical calls to 911 insisting that African-Americans and Mexicans wouldn't help them--turned out to be cows. Meth is a hell of a drug!
I’ve never heard anyone say how much meth did Kyle get for him? That would say a lot in this case..
Pig, wild hogs have very sharp, razor-sharp tusks.
Go and look for him LE! 🤦♂️
It's private property.
@@ProsecutorsPodcast okay I understand that but why not be decent good samaratins and allow it
Who knows what are they hiding on their property and don't want police to snoop around. Maybe they searched themselves and decided that's enough.
Could this case be as simple as this guy hallucinating the ‘Mexicans’ due to the meth (or other drugs) and ran off but ended up in the river, or somewhere equally dangerous?
Edit: Damn it. Alice and Brett got it after I wrote that 😂🤣
Also, there are 2 things from the recording that I’m very sure of.
I am not sure if its right to downplay all Brandon said, tripping or not.
I guess he just vanished on the meth spaceship.
sadly past behavior predicts future behavior....look at all of the criminal activities involved in this case just within this family in itself...these phone calls are totally whacked, which leads me to think the past behavior of meth use is involved somehow but then I think about how criminals are idiots for the most part especially ones who are all doped up. I don't trust the brother at all!!!!
Trying to take the pressure off the infamous neighborhood Mexicans-state trooper network, huh? How much are they paying you guys?!?
Smh lol
🤣🤣🤣😋
What if Brandon was "that way" and thats where Brandon can see them from? Also, contradicts the whole state troopers just pulled somebody over. So yes he would be scared of the cops if they were staties.
Pigs dog's babbling, the only comparison to human/pigs is the skin and they also got cadaver dog's...
You all need to research far better. The "river" isn't even knee high when he went missing. So you think he died of exposure?? Exposure to what?? Its Texas in August at night. Lol
FIRST COMMENT SQUAD. 😹
"If you have a warrant, maybe don't die because of it hahahaha".... this is a man with a family who was struggling, and who is missing/presumed dead.... wtf?
Am I the only one that thinks he just started over somewhere else ????
What if he was hiding from the cops and ran further down the road and hitchhiked somewhere and either met with foul play or else he is starting new somewhere else
