Can’t believe Sydney wasn’t here for this one being that is 90% of her picks on Monday.
Really like the Royal Scam T-shirt, Pete!
I bought tickets to see Alice on September 18th in Gilford, New Hampshire with Ace Frehley! It is the 2nd show of the tour for Alice and first with Ace. I'm hoping and praying Alice has some special guests being the original remaining members of the Alice Cooper Band. Praying! This show is going to be epic post pandemic. Even better the venue is 20 minutes from my house!
I saw Faster Pussycat Frehley’s Comet and Alice back in 1987 in a Indianapolis. You are in for one hell of show. Ace and Cooper together on same Bill is fantastic. Have fun sir!!!!
Thank you for your picks.
My Picks:
60’s * Pretties For You
70’s * Billion Dollar Babies
80’s * Raise Your Fist and Yell
90’s *Hey Stoopid
2000’s *Along Came a Spider
2010’s *Paranormal
2020’s *Detroit Stories
🎤🎸🎵🥁
I know "Lace and Whiskey" tends to get crap from people, but it's another album I can go to and think it sounds great.
There's certainly some good tracks on there. I especially like Ir's Hot Tonight and My God.
I like "Lace and Whiskey". Tie only song I don't really like on it is "Ubangi Stomp". The rest of the album is excellent. My favorite songs on it are "No More (Love at Your Convenience)" (Or is the "(No More) Love at Your Convenience)"? I can never remember where the parentheses go.); "King of the Silver Screen"; "You and Me" and "I Never Wrote that song". (I love when the song ends, and there's that long pause and then the saxophone solo comes in.)
@@azdh85224 You're welcome. Those are good songs. I guess the thing I didn't like about Ubangi Stomp is, I was expecting something like "Black Juju", with the African drums (Ubangi being the name of an African kingdom and all) and instead it's this rockabilly type song. I will check out the Stray Cats version.
I've always enjoyed it. Maybe not his best but a solid album, for sure!
Absolutely love lace &whiskey!!!

Another great show !
Alice Cooper was my generations “Little Richard “- both outrageous & musical .
Thank you Pete !

*2000's* - The Eyes of Alice Cooper
*2010's* - Paranormal

All great choices. So glad you picked Raise Your Fist from the 80s. That album gets ignored by many and it has always been one of my faves.
Pretties for You
Group:
Muscle of Love
Solo:
From the Inside
Special Forces
Hey Stoopid
Dirty Diamonds
Welcome 2 My Nightmare
Though he's known mostly for his unique persona/showmanship, he's also a good songwriter.
70s - Billions Dollar Babies (Favorite Album of all time)
80s - Constrictor
90s - The Last Temptation
00s - Brutal Planet
10s - Paranormal
60's - Pretties for You
70's - Billion Dollar Babies ("Hard Hearted Alice" off of Muscle of Love is one of my top favorite Cooper songs though)
80's - Constrictor
90's - The Last Temptation
2000's - Brutal Planet or Dirty Diamonds
2010's - Welcom 2 My Nightmare
(Also, love the 2014 documentary Super Duper Alice Cooper.)
2020's - Detroit Stories
Nice to see you embrace how your (and anyone else's ) rankings evolve with time. A person's rankings don't have to be "final" or carved in stone!
70's - Killer,
80's - Trash,
90's - The Last Temptation,
00's - Along Came a Spider,
10's - Paranormal.
Loved the concert with Deep Purple. Hope to see them again. Nita is a monster guitarist.
I can't really argue with your pics....I would probably pick Special Forces for the 80s......it seems to be a sleeper pick for the diehards even though it was his blackout years.....lots of catchy tunes and I find myself playing it quite a bit even to this day.....thanks for the spotlight on AC....oh I would pick Eyes of AC for that decade... excellent record !
Strange that Alice should say he has no memory of making these so-called 'blackout' albums, I'd think these hard rock gems were made for horror movie fans when reading the ingenious lyrics. They're very visual, pretty much every song on Zipper Catches Skin is movie related.
Here's My Picks.
60's - Pretties For You (Easy Action is Worse than this)
70's - Killer
80's - Raise Your Fist and Yell
90's - Hey Stoopid
00's - Dragontown
10's - Welcome 2 My Nightmare
20's - Detroit Stories (I haven't gotten to Hear most of it, but I'll go with it.)
I love Alice. My picks for Alice are Muscle of Love School's Out and Billion Dollar Babies reminders of better days past
Hi Pete. I’m with you on this.
1) Billion Dollar Babies
Runner up. 2) Killer.
I absolutely love these 2 albums. Great 70’s material.
Seen him live here (Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺) in Feb 2020. Was fantastic!
Good morning (or afternoon, evening, or night), Pete. Another great choice for the Decades series. As you said, Pretties For You is the default 60s choice.
For the 1970s. Billion Dollar Babies. Killer would be my second [as the introduction to the band] but Billion Dollar Babies came out the year of my high school graduation. Loved it then and love it now. It still is the Alice Cooper album which is reached for the most.
The 80s? Going with Trash here as Alice closes out the 80s with a gangbuster album and even puts a single out to lead the album.
90s. The Last Temptation. The underlying theme of the album resonates for me and the tracks are mostly great.
The Double-Naughts? Along Came A Spider.
2010s. Paranormal for all the reasons you already discussed.
2020s Again, by default.. Detroit Stories but hoping more to come.
Looking forward to the shows of the remaining bands you have in mind for this series. Thanks again, Pete.
Alice Cooper’s uncle Tommy was a real funny man.
For me TRASH was my favourite. I loved that era of music from the late 80s and that album has so many good songs on it.
70's - Love it to Death
80's - Raise Your Fist and Yell (so many memories)
90's - Hey Stoopid
00's - Dirty Diamonds
10's - Paranormal
20's - Detroit Stories
This was fun - one of my all time favourites. Totally agree with your picks here...
I saw Alive way back in the day, maybe 1979 or earlier, his show was spectacular!
Love it when you do Alice-Stuff. Aaand. You made me curious there. What would be your favorite among the Blackout-Albums?
I had Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits album back in the 70s but I wasn't a serious fan until the mid 90s when one of my neighbors left two Alice Cooper cassettes next to my door. "The Last Temptation" and "Hey Stoopid." I was surprised at how good they were and played them non stop for about a week.
I feel like Sydney needs to chime in on this....if she hasn't already. Just started watching so forgive me if I jumped the gun on this comment.
Kudos Pete for selecting Raise Your Fist And Yell. I take flak for it, but that's one of my faves from AC. Kane Roberts and Kip Winger helped bolster the music on that record!
Raise Your Fist and Yell is a great album. Alice sounds terrific on it. Really giving it all. I don't understand the hate for it.
Aside from the awful album cover I don't understand the hate either 🤣
'Freedom' is a Classic Alice Cooper tune with great anti-censorship lyrics. As I remember it was well-received at the time. People who diss that album are probably not Hard'n'Heavy fans.
It's not always as easy to schedule guest stars as everyone thinks it is. Seeing as this is a May only show theme, we are running out of days to get these all recorded and sometimes solo is just the way to go.
@@seaoftranquilityprog
Completely understand and you did touch on that towards the end of the video. Still quality content as always!
60's - Pretties For You
70's - From The Inside
80's - Flush The Fashion
90's - The Last Temptation
00's - The Eyes Of Alice Cooper
10's - Welcome 2 My Nightmare
20's - Detroit Stories
60s - Pretties For You (I looked on Wikipedia to see if I could qualify Easy Action which I prefer hoping it was maybe recorded in 1969, Wiki says it was recorded between '69 - '70 so I'm mostly out of luck.)
70s - Killer
80s - DaDa
90s - The Last Temptation
00s - The Eyes of Alice Cooper
10s - Welcome 2 My Nightmare
20s - Detroit Stories
Other than "Dragontown" & "Brutal Planet" I like everything Cooper (the man & the band) has done. He was a very important part of my musical development.
- 1960s: Pretties For You (I don't dislike this era as much as some do)
- 1970s: Killer (My 2nd favorite Cooper album)
- 1980s: Zipper Catches Skin (My favorite. Though "Raise Your Fist & Yell" is really good, too)
- 1990s: The Last Temptation (A solid, somewhat overlooked album)
- 2000s: The Eyes of Alice Cooper (He dropped the nu-metal sound, thankfully)
- 2010s: Paranormal (His best since "Raise Your Fist & Yell", IMO)
- 2020s: Detroit Stories (Not bad, but not nearly as good as Paranormal)
These have been fun - Thanks for the video!
Hello Hooray is my favorite Alice Cooper song of all time. Killer chorus. :)
Actually it's a Judy Collins song, but this is sooo much better!!!
@@mutant_blues Oh my. You aren’t kidding. It is waaaay better. Yup. It is going on my top 25 covers of all time. :)
Though most of the 70s albums have much better songs and are more classic, Muscle of Love is my favorite in regards to a top to bottom listen in the 70s. Constrictor is not only my fave 80s album by him, but one of my top 5 fave albums of all time. Hey Stooped for the 90s, and Welcome 2 My Nightmare was a great return to form with Ezrin doing amazing production job of mixing of old and new sounds, not to mention the 3 cool songs with the original group and a fantastic re-teaming with Dick Wagner in that of one of Alice's best ballads.
60' - Pretties For You
70' - Love It To Death
80'
90' - The Last Temptation
00'
10' - Paranormal/W2MN
20'
Awesome show as always
60s pretties for you
70s billion dollar babies
80s trash
Apart from the 3 decades I am not the biggest fan. But killer is my second pick from 70s
As you said killer is really dark and gothic which i like. Possibly the darkest Alice cooper album
No Sydney Taylor? Blasphemy!! 🎵”And in God’s name blaspheme / Killer of Giants, threatens us all... “🎵 (OOPS! Wrong artist!) 😉
Dirty Diamonds and Eyes of Alice Cooper are great return to 70s sound.
Helluva line up on the way for this theme. Can't wait.
Sydney... sorry for the misspelling : )
It's not always as easy to schedule guest stars as everyone thinks it is. Seeing as this is a May only show theme, we are running out of days to get these all recorded and sometimes solo is just the way to go.
I love Pretties For You. Some great psych on there.
Hey guys! Here are my picks:
1960's: Pretties For You
1970's: From The Inside
1980's: Trash (a HAIR over Constrictor)!
1990's: Hey Stoopid
2000's: Along Came A Spider
2010's: Welcome 2 My Nightmare
2020's: Detroit Stories
Like Pete mentioned, sometimes it's hard to completely match our schedules, but it was nice to know that so many of you missed me on this episode haha! Love seeing everyone's picks here in the comments. 🤗
60’s Pretties For You
70’s Killer
80’s Flush the Fashion
90’s Hey Stoopid
00’s Along Came a Spider
10’s Paranormal
20’s Detroit Stories
Great choice Pete for the 80's decade. "Raise Your Fist and Yell" is under-rated. Kane Roberts guitar tone is so unique and sounds amazing. His solos are melodic and instantly memorable. Alice's lyrics and vocals are great. A dark album lyrically and the music is heavier than the previous "Constrictor" album. I just wish a remastered version of "Fist" would get released since it would really benefit with enhanced dynamics, etc.
Personally, I find it's probably the worst album he ever recorded with Constrictor being just a sliver better but not much, I was massively disappointed back then with this whole hair metal comeback era (which has been going on pretty much to this day) Alice doing metal just was never my cup of tea, I think artistically he dropped the ball after DaDa and the musical variety went out the window. Isolated good songs here and there, but overall the last 38 years I find little I like in his catalog.
Pete,
How did you do this show without Alice's No. 1 fan: Sydney Taylor?
60s - Pretties for You
70s - Billion Dollar Babies (band)/ From the Inside (solo)
80s - Flush the Fashion
90s - Last Temptation
00s - Brutal Planet
10s - Paranormal
Agreed, when I saw the title I thought Sydney might be joining him for this one! Still a great video from Pete though.
It's not always as easy to schedule guest stars as everyone thinks it is. Seeing as this is a May only show theme, we are running out of days to get these all recorded and sometimes solo is just the way to go.
@@seaoftranquilityprog I missed Sydney on this one as well. I’ll do the Rush one with you this month !
70's: Killer
80's: Dada
90's: Hey Stoopid
00's: Dragontown
10's: Paranormal
20's: Detroit Stories
My picks
60s - Pretties For You
70s - Love It To Death
80s - DaDa
90s - Hey Stoopid
00s - Along Came The Spider
10s - Paranormal
20s - Detroit Stories
Relieve it or not, I really like 3 of the 4 “Blackout” albums. My pick for the 80s would be “Special Forces” or “Dada”. 70s “Billion Dollar Babies”, 90s “Hey Stoopid”, 00s “Brutal Planet”, 10s “Welcome 2 My Nightmare”
What's the one blackout album you don't like?
I wasn’t crazy about Flush the Fashion. But admittedly, I don’t know it as well as the other 3, which I own. A friend in school had Special Forces and Zipper Catches Skin, and I got to know those. Then picked up Dada shortly after in a bargain bin for 3.99! 😂
@@tomfabozzi5353 Yeah, poor DaDa. Found it's life in the $5 Walmart bin
Glad it has new life now.
I know! I really like it. Particularly like “Scarlett and Sheba” and “Pass the Gun Around”. If he’d released it in 1978 it would have been a hit for him
60's - Pretties For You
70's - Welcome to My Nightmare
80's - Don't care for any of them
90's - Hey Stoopid
2000's - Brutal Planet
2010's - Welcome 2 My Nightmare
2020's - Detroit Stories
60s: Pretties For You
70s: Love It To Death
80s: Raise Your Fist And Yess
90s: The Last Temptation Of Alice
00s: Dirty Diamonds
10s: Welcome 2 My Nightmare
20s: Detroit Stories
I'd lump the original AC Band as a separate entity to include 69-75 and Killer would be my pick. Alice's solo 70's output would be Welcome to My Nightmare.
80s - Dada
90s - Last Temptation
00s - Brutal Planet
10s / 20s - Welcome 2 My Nightmare (lumping together due to only three albums)
"From the Inside" is a good Elton John album!!!
@@Tib-bf8zj the joke went right over your head
@@Tib-bf8zj I think he's referencing Alice working heavily with Bernie Taupin on that album. Some people over the years have even thought that Elton's song "All the Girls Love Alice" is actually about Alice Cooper.
Also I forgot to mention my favourite alice cooper guitarist is nita Strauss. She is a monster!
70's is a hard one.For me probably Killer closely followed by Love it to death and Welcome to my nightmare. Not to crazy about what they delivered in the other decades !!
60’s- Pretties for you
70’s- Killer (A top ten best of the 70’s)
80’s- Raise your Fist and Yell
90’s- Hey Stoopid
00’s- Brutal Planet

20’s- Detroit Stories
70's: Killer (solo: Welcome To My Nightmare)
80's: Raise Your Fist and Yell
90's: Hey Stoopid
00's: Dirty Diamonds
10's: Welcome 2 My Nightmare
60s - Pretties For You
70s - Love it to Death
80s - Trash (it's what got me into Alice as I was 13 at the time when it was released)
90s - Hey Stoopid
00s - Brutal Planet
10s - W2MN (by a hair)
20s - Detroit Stories
70s- Killer
80s- Flush the Fashion
90s- The Last Temptation
2000s- The Eyes of Alice Cooper

I haven't heard Alice Coopers discography in full, but here it goes anyway:
70s Alice Cooper goes to Hell
80s DaDa
90s Hey Stoopid
00s Brutal Planet
10s Welcome 2 My Nightmare
Aw man, no Sydney? I gotta do a deep dive into AC at some point. Nice Royal Scam shirt.
60s......Pretties for you
70s......billion dollar babies
80s......Raise your Fist and Yell (this is my favorite Alice Cooper album of all time)
90s......Hey Stoopid
2000s......Brutal Planet
2010s.......Paranormal
2020s.......Detroit Stories
Well, Pretties for You lol.
70s: okay I’m gonna cheat here, and pull a Pardo. . Alice Cooper Band “Killer”; Alice Cooper the solo artist, gotta pick “Lace and Whiskey” right now, though I love Nightmare & From the Inside, it’s just where I’m at in mood & life-especially the last 10 months as I’ve developed a beer and whiskey habit myself hehe. Plus, I love moody reflective ballads and Film Noir
80s: oof! I love “DaDa”; can’t listen to it as much as the others, but damn, couple tracks really hit me, notably “Pass the Gun Around”-know that feeling a lot of my life
90s: love both, but gotta go with the fun album from my birth year that I could not listen to for 3 years, put on, and still sing along without flubbing lyrics and such-Hey Stoopid!
00s: god this is tough between Brutal Planet, Dragontown, and Spider . . I think “Spider” as it’s a mix of old and modern Alice, a cohesive engaging story line, and great performances. Hey Pete, remember the website had that MP3 player he called “Wimpy Player”? hahaha the vignettes and artwork for the songs, like a Grindhouse series of posters really added to the majesty of it.
10s: haven’t really heard it, but Paranormal just because it’s not a bloated 2cd filler mess
20: Detroit Stories is a bit of fun.
I remember seeing Alice Cooper at Memorial Coliseum in Ft Wayne Indiana in the eighties. The opening acts were Frehley's Comet and Faster Pussycat. My friend and I waited at the barricade in the parking area to see if we could meet Alice. Well, I still kinda feel bad because Faster Pussycat approached us asking if we wanted a photo or autographs. We said no thank you, we were waiting for Alice. They said "We get that a lot."
Loving the shirt!
I remember your rankings show turnedme onto alice I love the mid late 80s played to death raise you fist and yell

It’s so typical for almost every Cooper fan saying how they don’t like pretties for you .
