  • If you liked the Casio AE1000 or the AE1200 "Casio Royale" watch, you'll probably like this one also. It does all of the same things with a slightly different face and a module which gives it a dedicated light button on the front. This module 3458 uses a lithium CR2025 battery (like the other watches I mentioned) and it should last about 10 years (the same as it does with the other watches I mentioned). There are five variations of this watch (that I'm aware of) and one of them includes a metal bracelet.
The main functions and features of his watch include four quick-access time zones in the main timekeeping mode, a separate World Time mode, five alarms, an hourly signal, 24-hour stopwatch and 24-hour countdown timer. The user can select a backlight duration of 1.5 or 3 seconds. The full instruction manual for Module 3458 is available for download from Casio's website.

I now have 45 watches. 37 Casio's, 3 G-Shock, 2 Edifice, 2 Timex Expedition and 1 Citizen. 2 cases of 24 watches almost full in less than 3 years. Mr Anderson you have been a great inspiration. Thanks for the many videos. The watch world appreciates you.

Greg you are the guru of detail. Its great to see full explanations of Casio watches, the functions, tricks and hands on instruction provided by your video's. Down under here in Australia without Atomic notification I tend to skip those models that push that as a feature. As a former law enforcement Officer the durability of these watches is remarkable. Thanks for taking the time to bring us up to speed....

I have always been guided by the idea that I want to explain everything I would have wanted to know about a watch before I bought it. And it appears that I would want to know a whole lot of details! I’m glad when folks like you appreciate that.

Hello Mr. Anderson. I bought this model ow watch (Blue and Yellow) two months ago in a store. I didn't know much about watches or Casio but thanks to it I found this video and your channel. Ever since I have been fascinated by all the different models of Casio's and G Shock's by watching your videos. I will slowly start building a collection. Currently have AE1400 and AE1500. Thank you so much for introducing me to this marvelous world of beautiful and PRACTICAL inexpensive Casio Watches. I really enjoy them. I will keep watching all your videos. Love from Mexico.

nice review.. still prefer the royale..
the quick home time switch also available at the ae1200 royale.. no many reviewer mention it but it actually work. slect any time zone then push the adjust and light button at the same time. that time will be your home time. do this again to local time if you want to chnage back the time.

I dont think a digital quartz watch can loose that much time per month. Ive been using 2 casios and a samsung smart watch for the last 5 months and I havent noticed anything yet from the casio quartz quality!

I have at least one of every AE-xxxx World Time Casio. AE-1000, 1100, 1200, 1400, 2000, 2100 & 3000. (The AE-1300 & AE-1500 are not World Time watches. I have an AE-1300. I do not plan on getting an AE-1500.) My favorites are the AE-1200, 2000 & 2100. The advantage of the AE-1400, is that, the dedicated light button allows for a REVERSE pusher and having the SPLIT-RESET function assigned to that pusher, instead of the usual CASIO assignment of the upper left pusher. The bulky case shape is my least favorite attribute of the AE-1400. I do not recommend the AE-1400WHD-1AVCF version, since the matte silver resin bezel does not match the stainless steel of the bracelet. That is not a problem with the AE-1000, 1100 & 1200 bracelet versions. The higher level AE-2000 & 2100 have metal bezels. The bracelet version of the oversized AE-3000 has the same matte resin/stainless steel matching problem as the AE-1400.

Design-wise, among all these, AE-2000 has the most useful area occupied by the main display and doesn't have the stupid world map segment region, but has a true metal insert, WR200 rating and mineral glass.

Another great video, Greg! I bought this one at my local Walmart as well-- it must have been on clearance since it rang up at $5! I am planning on modding it, similarly to what I did on my AE-1200 "Casio Royale."

    I have 2 questions,
1-does the search button of the Casio ae1200 is little harder to press than the other 3 buttons or its just mine or this is the same for a lot of other Casio watches with buttons?
2-Does the buttons of Casio watches can get softer to press over the time?

    • @engedusouza
      @engedusouza 2 роки тому +2

From my collection, the one harder button is the set-up button on the Mudman. All other are soft, and remains that way.
I don’t see it softening due to continued press. The wear of the O-rings will have little to do with it.
Another button related particularity is the “short” button as seen in the DW5600 series and other. It seem to be harder because it is smaller, thus, a bit more difficult to be pressed.
      Regards, Eduardo, from Brazil.

@@engedusouza Thanks, I think the softness of the 4 buttons in pressing is different and random from a watch to another.

I have the 1200 and I REALLY don’t like the fact that it has only one LED. Very difficult for me to see in the dark. This 1400 is essentialy the same watch but with two LEDs. It’s ridiculous how Casio makes watches that differs from each other only by a minor little thing...

I am kinda stuck between the 1000w and 1400w right now. 1200w is out of stock everywhere so these 2 are the ones I am eyeing right now.
I like the look of the 1000w more but I guess functionality wise the 1400w is better (and it is cheaper here too)
    Which would you suggest?

The basic G shock sells for $40.00 on Amazon. That is only $10 more than the dwh 291. Of course, you may prefer the looks of the dwh and the buttons are easier to push.
