Gracias por su video Greg, I just bought this watch model from Ebay, and I'm really happy with my purchase, at the initial set up I discovered the watch had not been sync with the tower in Colorado since October of 2021 and it was only 3 seconds off, I'm always amazed at the accuracy of casio watches and I'm definitely a big fan of casio as well as your channel, keep up the good work!!!
Great review. I bought the Rangeman 2020 blackout edition because of you. The watch is looking bloody slick and handsome. Can't wait to take it to the mountains of Scottish Highlands after the lockdown. Cheers mate!
It's funny why no one talked about the dimness of this timepiece! I own one and it's my favorite G-Shock of all the others that I own but this dim display put me in doubt. However, it really depends on the angle you view the watch. Other than that, it's handsdown a hell of a G-Shock!

And sure enough when I checked the last returned 9400 it does, IF your ear is 2” from the watch! Otherwise it’s completely inaudible from only 3-4” away from your face! Really irritating, as I love the watch otherwise, but now have to send it back and get another brand. You would think they would have checked for the useless alarm before shipping a $250 watch. I guess I’ll see if Sunto has managed to make this super advanced hi-tech feature work in one of their models, as otherwise my only option is to make a sling to keep my wrist inches from my ear 24/7 so I can barely hear the tiny alarm tone.

What a beast! The kid in me is still alive😊 It's on its way home...... PS: For anyone using a compass on the ground, barometric altimeters are not the ideal, yet they are an absolute necessity in aviation. Excellent informative review. Looking for a radio solar watch with barometer to replace my Suunto Vector. Otherwise perfect, but would like option to select date format to dd.mm. Maybe they will do U version of this watch that has the option.
I was going to say this, but decided to check the comments first. I like the little minute counter in that eye. I also like that the little eye can let you know of other things the watch is doing like a stop watch. currently the Rangeman is the best watch I have, and a great selection of features.
Great comment I thought something was off with this as the others have seen do not have the same pattern in the eye of the watch... you're exactly right, good catch
Very good, very thorough, so thorough that I'm sure you would have touched upon this if it existed, but does this model have VIBRATION Alarm. I would like one of these mid range Casios with vibration alarm, THANKS.
I did look at this watch. Only a small part of the dial is devoted to actually telling the time. The rest of it is for barometers, thermometers, compasses etc that I just would not use very often.
good video , ( still have a Q , on setting the date ) the close up shots are great, it is easier to read the details on your video than the rangeman in my hand .
Just bought the green one, it shipped today. I know the negative display will be a little tougher to read...but it adds to the look of the watch imo. Also have a black bull bar to go on it.
I ordered the black version from Amazon. It arrived today. As soon a I took it out of the box I knew it was going to be returned. The numbers on the all black are not easy to read. Perhaps a younger person with younger eyes may be able to read the display but I can not! Will find something else.
I have the 5610 and the Mudmaster (2019) with very similar buttons to this Rangeman. I can relate to your sentiment. I love how small the 5610, and yes the buttons are tiny, but not worth the cost of the BT enabled full-metal squares of recent times. I love my Muddy, but still attracted to this digital equivalent!
Hi Greg. I notice you refer to the barometric pressure as the "altimeter setting". I don't typically hear that term unless it's from a fellow pilot. Just curious, do you have a pilot's license?
My father was a pilot along with my oldest brother and two of my cousins (who used to borrow my dad’s Cherokee… until one of them bought the plane from my dad). I flew with them a lot but never got my own license. Today I often fly in a helicopter for a local TV station. I am not the pilot but I operate the camera equipment on that helicopter. I have a deep appreciation for what good, safe pilots do.
@@GoodTimekeeper That makes total sense now - sounds like you've been around aviation your whole life. I have a private pilot license, and almost went the commercial route, but the software industry got its hold on my life. But aviation can be a truly satisfying hobby, and the scenery around the area where you live is some of the best in the country.
love the video but I cant manually sync it for some reason it doesn't even say hold button and theres no countdown timers running do you now how to get it to work again?
The Multiband 6 reception is only available in certain time zones which are supposed to be in range but if, for example, I set the zone to somewhere in Australia or New Zealand then it won’t try at all to receive. The manual says which time zones are good to use for Multiband 6. Which time zone are you using?

Thank you, Greg. I appreciate your thoughtful content and passion for these g-shock watches. @@GoodTimekeeper the problem inadvertently resolved itself…In any case thanks for your reply! My g-shock is on the time zone of my city (Rome) and the countdown was never active at that time. Boh? 😊
When I have it set for NYC time it always shows time one hour ahead even though I set it at correct time it changes its self during night like after 12Am
When I press mode button once and it goes to world time mode, what is the top left dial indicating?? And what actually are those “10-0-10”on red rim of that dial for ?
Pulled the trigger on this the other day on Amazon $176.99 Delivery has been delayed but hopefully I will have it on my wrist today (was supposed to be Wednesday)
How do you get the 60 second sub dial in the top left corner to look like that? Mine just goes around in sync with the seconds like a digital seconds hand, but yours looks way cooler! I want my watch to do that too

In 2021, is there a better, newer watch out, or these are the best? What is a reputable source to buy in the USA?
Best GW9400 tutorial in the world
good video , ( still have a Q , on setting the date ) the close up shots are great, it is easier to read the details on your video than the rangeman in my hand .
I'm saving up for this watch! :)
Thanks for the review! 👍
any storm alarm?
It has
Hello sir,
Great review, can the band be replaced?
Thank you.
I know there’s a Jays and Kays adapter set so that folks can use a NATO-style strap.

Thank you very much. I'm thinking of getting the ⌚
Just bought the green one, it shipped today.
I’m surprised you didn’t go over the storm track/pressure change alert feature.
You're easily surprised
I got the 5610 g shock but I can’t stop looking at the 9400 rangeman! My only gripe with the 5610 is that the buttons are very small
That's why I sold mine the buttons are so hard to get to plus it looked stupid on my 8.5in wrist. Get the 9400 it's a beast...
Great review, but would liked to see a wrist shot and that you measured the diameter and thickness.
This was a great video. I've just ordered this watch for myself, and I found this super helpful. Thank you again.
Thanks very much Greg. Very well put together and helpful.
I’ve been considering buying this watch and your review was helpful, thank you!
love the video but I cant manually sync it for some reason it doesn't even say hold button and theres no countdown timers running do you now how to get it to work again?
The Multiband 6 reception is only available in certain time zones which are supposed to be in range but if, for example, I set the zone to somewhere in Australia or New Zealand then it won’t try at all to receive. The manual says which time zones are good to use for Multiband 6. Which time zone are you using?
Good morning. I just received my GW9400 and love it. My question is that got it on medium power. Once it reaches high how long should I keep charging it once high starts ? Facing sun through my window. I live in Rhode Island so its cold lol
Thanks for the nice informative vid. That got me interested in that watch. I have a quick question... does the countdown have the vibration mode? That is after at the end of the countdown, would the watch vibrates? Thanks.
This watch doesn’t have a vibration alarm.
Hi when the alarm activated. Will the light start blinking?
Nice comprehensive review, gave it a thumbs up!
Thank you!
1. what's your favorite watch? If GW9400, then how often do you wear it in a month?
Just purchase this watch thank you for this the instruction manual is a pain.
great job explaining all the feature. love it
planning to get this G-SHOCK RANGEMAN..since its again..SOLAR POWERED...same as the G-SHOCK -MUD-MASTER...i had....thank you for the depth review...it was so helpful.
It is 2022 , do you still think gw9400 is best G-SHOCK
Gracias Greg!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Greg, very nice and informative review. I like that.
Some features similar with my GWN - 1000RD. Have you ever review it?
Just bought the last Japanese domestic model from Amazon today, should get it by the weekend
Just watch the video of it going over 1000 hours so had to check out the goat review. Such a over the top watch. I have a garmin solar instinct for my hiking biking wilderness in Colorado and Arizona watch but no way Is at cool as the range man.
Your videos are always so great! Thank you so much for posting these. Makes my buying decisions so much easier.
Great review! I just bought this watch and I love it. It's good looking very functional. My question is what is the difference between this one and the new version 3 please? Please let me know. Thanks again
I've been going crazy trying to figure out how to change the units for the barro. I couldn't find anything online and my manual is packed away somewhere. THANKS.
I try to be thorough with these videos but you should be able to download the official manual here... casiofanmag.com/manuals/qw3410.pdf
Will the compass work in Southern Hemisphere? Do I have to change settings to make it work? I will be on a journey across Namibia…. Thanx for any answers
Hello Greg great video thank you for sharing very very nice watch 🏆👍
Hi Greg. Between the protrek and rangeman, which one will you choose, and why?
Thank you, Greg. I appreciate your thoughtful content and passion for these g-shock watches. I doubt you’ll get to this, but assuming this Rangeman meets all of my needs, do you think there’s any reason to go above and beyond to the Mudmaster? I’ve thought if buying the Mudnaster and have no problem doing so but I’m not e tiredly sold on the second generation and am considering getting a Rangeman instead. If you ir any if your viewers have any thoughts on this it’s appreciated. Thank you and I hope everyone is well.
4:09 only like that when stopwatch is on; otherwise it show seconds
Just bought the rangeman GW 9400 in the military green, very nice, bulky watch.
But so hard to read. I will sell mine.
great review, thanks! my rangeman does not allow manual reception of the time. by pressing the A key in R\C mode the procedure does not start… can you give me some indications? Thank you
The first things I check are: What is your location? What time zone is the watch set to? Is there a countdown timer running?
@@GoodTimekeeper the problem inadvertently resolved itself…In any case thanks for your reply! My g-shock is on the time zone of my city (Rome) and the countdown was never active at that time. Boh? 😊
Why does the circular indicator show the East direction at the 9 o'clock position. Shouldn't it be at the 3 o'clock position?
When I have it set for NYC time it always shows time one hour ahead even though I set it at correct time it changes its self during night like after 12Am
When I press mode button once and it goes to world time mode, what is the top left dial indicating?? And what actually are those “10-0-10”on red rim of that dial for ?
Pulled the trigger on this the other day on Amazon $176.99 Delivery has been delayed but hopefully I will have it on my wrist today (was supposed to be Wednesday)
Got it on and completely set up. I love it!
R B it’s a great watch. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it for a long time, as I’ve been able to wear mine for almost 3 years now and it’s never had an issue.
And the pressure graph is amazing. It looks like a. Stock market graph but it’s not. That’s why it’s amazing.
Great job in explaining the features.! Thank You.! 👍
How do you get the 60 second sub dial in the top left corner to look like that? Mine just goes around in sync with the seconds like a digital seconds hand, but yours looks way cooler! I want my watch to do that too
Derek Walter it’s because the stopwatch is running
@@MarkCridland thank you. I did realize that after I saw his stopwatch was on I tried it on my own and it worked
Es el mejor tutorial de este reloj, pero poco entiendo, ya que está en inglés, se nota que está súper bien explicado, ..
