Beautiful watch. The blue 41mm is my daily and I don’t baby it. Just enjoy it. I also feel mixed about the polished centre links. It can scratch easily but it does look great. Initially I felt the watch was a bit on the thicker side but now I get that it is intentional to give it that slightly sportier look. The short lug to lugs and twisted lugs also make it great for smaller wrists. It’s also great on a leather strap. I change it up every week to give it a fresh look.
Your AT is a stunner and i think AT's are untouchable so i completely agree with swapping your rolex for one I sold my boring Air-King last year and already had a quartz AT. I'd previously bought my missus a 30mm AT which got me hooked.
Absolutely love the Aqua Terra, yeah, looks grey from some angles to me when I've seen it, great shade of green, not too jarring like some others, but how is it more expensive than the Seamaster 300M? Definitely a GADA watch
I can’t carry off the 41mm so I went for the 38mm, which has the 8800 movement. I’m obsessed with blue dials so having that was a must. It’s gorgeous. It’s an (almost) do it all watch but the polished centre links means it feels a bit odd wearing it hiking in the hills even though it is perfectly good for it. My Rolex Explorer is a fully do it all watch.
Yeah I get that Ian,, if it was an activity type day then I’d lean towards a less flash watch - like you say it could do it but best to protect them lovely centre links!
Both the bracelet and the rubber strap look amazing on your AT. It's an insult to put it on a nato. I just cant get away with them. Just my opinion though, I know there's lots of people who love them.
Did the same , sold my green Oyster Perpetual 41 vs. a Green Aqua Terra with 8900 movement. Did not regret any second.Adjusting the hours only like on my GMT´s was a big plus for me as I travel a lot between time zones
I think the 41mm looks too big on you not proportional , the 38mm would look better in my humble opinion. I actually tried this on the 41 on my 7.25in wrist and it was obvious to me it was too big , I was surprised it over hung slightly. I tried on the 38 aqua terra and it's perfect. Oddly the 42 mm SMP fits me fine. But unfortunately you don't get the same dial choices as the 41mm or movement. Plus , I think the butterfly clasp is awful. Rolex I hate to say it wipes the floor with it . But if I had to go omega I would choose the SMP diver very cool interesting dial great bang for buck.
Love the AT and tried many on but never got the urge to pull the trigger for some reason (the 38.5mm Skyfall being my favourite), I tried the new lacquer black dial on recently which is lovely, however I have a 40mm Explorer and mint green DJ41 already, congrats on yours Andrew.
@@watchandrew Yeah cheers, that was the idea. I adore the Explorer and will never sell it but not sure about the DJ despite lusting after one for years - think I prefer the Silver dial. I bought it on jubilee (smooth bezel) but couldn’t get on with it as it’s too flashy to wear often so found an Oyster which I much prefer. I’d like the bright blue OP41 next, have also tried the white dial OP39 on but guy wanted silly money for it.
Always loved the Aqua Terra, still can’t believe they cost more than a Seamaster 300 but way out of my price range anyway. Could be a consolidate the collection and exit piece but can’t really see that happening really. 😆
Great swap imo. I did something similar. I bought a op 41 blue dial and couldn't get on with the fit because of the male end links. I replaced it with the omega planet ocean 39.5 and it fits a dream if a tad thick. But with 600m water resistance it's to be expected.
My favourite aqua terra is the first one omega released. I've come close to buying the new ones a few times but i keep walking away from it. Im not sure about the minute hand, thickness, bracelet and crown shape. It is my favourite omega though, looks fantastic.
@@watchandrew I'm not really a big omega fan but out of all their watches the aqua terra is my favourite and only one I've considered buying. I've not seen the new ones in the metal, but going by the pictures the black one looks really nice.
I’m a big fan of Omega, and if you wait patiently, you’ll be sure to get a good price on a pre-loved watch. I much prefer the AT on leather, as I’m not crazy about the bracelet. I like a better taper, and an adjustable clasp. For the money, these should always be provided. Nice watch, great colour, but I do wonder if the smaller size would be better for your wrist? I’m gravitating to smaller watches with my 7.6 inch wrist! Top video, Andrew.
thanks for the comment, its appreciated. I did consider the 38mm and would be open to having one but all my nice leather and rubber straps are 20mm so they wouldn't fit and that was a big decision maker for me. I have seen to the two ton 38mm which I really like as well
Great choice fella , got mine on the OE Omega black rubber with deployant. Definitely not the cheapest option especially when you factor in the end links 😮. Enjoy & wear in great health.
any chance you could do a vid on the straps from different companies you use as it sound like you have all the classic makes out there and some are punchy, so are they worth it?
I actually find that purple rolex one of the more non boring rolees, like something that NOT everybody has... With omega, i like the watch but not the green dial. Also aqua terras look a bit too big for a three hander to me
I found the grape dial cool for a long time also,, Just over time the rest of the watch became bit mundane for me. The AT, I understand what you are saying but wearing it doesn't feel too big at all
I was torn between the two sizes in all honesty - but the 38mm is not 20mm lugs - so all my nice straps and the Zealande rubber straps would not fit it.
I had the silver small seconds AT it was a great watch but sold it as have no interest in watches these days . I beat the watch obsession a couple of years back after 12 years of utter madness buying and selling probably spilled over 250 k in that time .. what I realised is that there is very little wrong with quality watches but often a whole lot wrong with our heads , If there is unhealthy obsessional behaviour then guaranteed you will never be satisfied.. often goes beyond the watch and more about addictive behavior
What a great comment,, congrats on beating the addiction! - it can feel like an utterly pointless and wasteful hobby at times. The addictive traits some of us show would be better directed into something healthier,,,, like drugs 🤣
@@watchandrew tell you what I’m glad I never went down the drugs route .. I would have been arse up in the gutter within a month 🤣.. seriously though when you beat it you feel totally liberated. I really couldn’t give a shit .. I’ve still got five Rolex that I have locked away .. I’ve not touched them in 18 months nothing interests me less .The only reason I never sold was the market being tits up .. if it ever recovers they will be gone .. up until I was 35 had zero interest, couldn’t understand why my mates would spend big money on watches though they were nuts . Had 12 years of addiction and I’m now back to the way I was before the madness took hold . Could win the euro millions and wouldn’t dream of buying another watch ..
The omega AT is a better watch without a doubt, but it doesn't have the same resell value. May be Omega should also stop selling to the public for the interest to grow. If you are buying a watch to keep, then you can't go wrong with the AT. Be happy because it looks better than than the OP, Explorer 1, and some DJs. If you want to flip watches, then you better buy PP, AP, and Rolex as they tend to hold better value. And for the micro adjustment.....just adjust it comfortably to your wrist. not too tight, not too loose. it's not a life threat!
Congratulations and great watch! I’ve got the 38 mm teak dial in blue and also the black 36 Oyster Perpetual I’m always switching between those classics.
@@watchandrew Thank you sir! I started my luxury collection last year with the Omega Aqua Terra, the Tudor BlackBay 54, Omega Speedmaster Professional Sapphire and the Oyster Perpetual. I also have a Rado, Seiko 5, Casio and my first watch a Swatch my uncle gave me at 13 years old. That’s it so far. The only thing that’s missing might be a GMT and something in precious metals 😅😎💪🏻
For me it’s definitely an unpopular Rolex,, I remember it being the only watch available in ADs local to me and Geneva when I visited there. I’ve also tried to sell it on eBay twice and it was listed for a long time and no one wanted it.
Good to see the number one UA-cam watch channel back in action, been missing the ooh la la's
haha,,, I don't mind a smidge of BS when its such a nice comment - thanks for the kind words mate.
The Omega Aqua Terra is the perfect everyday watch. It can be used as a dressy or casual watch.
Yeah defo a contender for the 1 watch collection
Omega is an absolutely an amazing brand. The green dial is stunning. Enjoy it!
thank you Robert I will. Omega is a great brand for sure

I love that grape dial, the omega looks great also!
I loved the grape dial as well but it does seem a little basis in comparison to the AT green
Black dial Aqua Terra is probably the ‘one and done’ in terms of go with anything from beach to boardroom 💥👌
I think you are spot on with that comment.

haha - yeah nato are not for everyone that's for sure - I am up and down with them most of them time
I love the white dial with hint of orange, but the new black dial is soooooo nice
they are both great choices to be fair,,, I need a white dial in the collection but can't have two AquaTerra can I?!?! haha
Great swap mate, I don't think you will regret it!

Such a great and underrated watch. You tried the 38mm? I think that size suits the look way better. The nicest 38mm imo is the white dial.
I was torn between the two sizes in all honesty - but the 38mm is not 20mm lugs - so all my nice straps and the Zealande rubber straps would not fit it.
Great watch, do you think in the long term the polished centre links will be like the DJ and become an issue?
Thank you,,, and yeah it could be the same all over again - I’m hoping I’ll be less stressed by it this time round lol
The aqua terra looks fantastic - it’s an upgrade on the OP IMO
thanks Gary - yeah I defo think its a better watch
That’s a stunning watch, and from my point of view is an upgrade.

What stops me from the AT are its thickness and no quickset date (unless you get the 38mm).

The new black one is a Stunner🤩🤩🤩I also do prefer the new kinda president bracelet 👍
the new one is very very cool!
When I had my Aqua Terra I really liked the rubber strap they make for it
they are very good quality,,
Love the grape dial but the omega is not a bad choice
The green dial AT is miles better than the Rolex.
have I made the right choice in your opinion?
Looking at your clothing type, you should have no problem with polished surfaces.
I hope so lol 😂
Great trade!
cheers pal
Great upgrade. Going from an ugly watch to one you love is always the right move. Who cares what anyone else thinks.
cheers mate,, appreciate the comment
Its all about on the fly adjustment, couldn't buy a watch without it
I felt exactly the same for a long time not sure why I changed my mind but I did.
We need an updated SOTC video Andrew. So we can follow where you are now
I am planning one soon mate - got a couple of new entries to get filmed first lol
AT over OP everyday of the week. Not a fan of the OP, Id rather an Explorer or DJ "with fluted" from Rolex.
can't argue with a fluted bezel - very nice!
Congratulations and great watch! I’ve got the 38 mm teak dial in blue and also the black 36 Oyster Perpetual I’m always switching between those classics.

Great review Andrew and a stunning watch. My next watch will be an AT but there is so many that i like to choose from it's a tough decision. 👍
really appreciate the comment mate,, thank you. There is SO MANY AquaTerra to choose from,,, it's tough to pin just one down
Why would you do that?
what? swap a Rolex for Omega?
Handsome watch.
thank you
good move!

Really glad you’re back 👍❤️
what a great comment to read mate - thank you very much.
good move but too late.
Get the rubber strap….much better.
the rubber strap is defo good for a change but I do like the bracelet
Why in the hell would you get rid of a plum dial Rolex. Whos says it un popular? Omega copies rolex. Dont ever forget that
