The day Maurice White died my sister came to tell me as if a family member had passed away .. she knew what Earth wind and fire meant to me.. I received many calls of condolences from friends and family.. I was glad that his memorial service was shared with the world. Seeing the tears in Ralph Johnson's eyes was painful.. the choir that sang all dressed in white reminded me of the faces album cover.. The night Andrew woolfolk passed away I was at the Earth wind and fire concert in El Paso Texas.. in the words of Philip Bailey, Andrew has transition from this land of the dying, to the land of the living... The entity of Earth wind & fire is in me..I Am EARTH wind and FIRE...

When Maurice White passed , it was like I lost my Father!!! He along with Julius Dr J Erving took a great hand in raising me , and I want them to know that I made it in life!!!

BIG,BIG, EW&F since 75, they are still great. But they are not anywhere near the same with out Maurice.
He is impossible to replace, he WAS EW&F.
They cannot and have not replaced his distinctive vocals, stage presence, leadership and production and arranging.

There was always a "magical mystique" about this fantastic band! I started with them in the 70's! It's been a wonderful ride, and we're still riding!

I always get a kick and LOVE watching Verdine!! Especially at the beginning of this one where he has his hand on his hip. He already feeling it and know they're getting ready to kill it!!!

I love this song so much. This is the Earth, Wind, and Fire song that I dedicated to Maurice White when he died. Every time I listen to this song I think about him and mourn his passing.
As a 63yr old white guy from Liverpool England whose favourite band is EW&Fire also proud of the Beatles from my home city who never had the technology of modern times Lennon & McCartney the most prolific songwriters and EW&Fire having covered a few of their song I'm in a bit of a quandary

I have seen EWF in Springfield Mass Civic Center (Twice), the New Haven Coliseum, Hartford Civic Center, MSG, and here in the ATL twice, Fox Theater and Alpharetta Amphitheater!
7 times throughout the last 40 years and they are NO DOUBT, THE BEST GROUP EVER!
The last time I saw them was in 2017. I was going to their show simply out of loyalty, because of their excellence throughout the years, so I felt my 125.00 ticket was basically to say thank you for all the years of great music!

Phillip Bailey STILL Hitting those high notes and Verdine still jumping around like he did in the 80's!
We were all amazed, complete strangers in our audience taking like we had known each other since high school;
They made us all feel like we were family, TRUELY;
total strangers.
All talking about HOW NONE OF US EXPECTED THIS! Yes we expected excellence and showmanship and heartfelt memories, but I AM NOT LYING WHEN I SAY, THE WAY THEY PERFORMED, YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THEY WERE ALL IN THEIR 30's!
They are to me the greatest group I've ever seen and heard in my lifetime! The Michael Jordan Band/Group of Music!

These dudes changed my life. Their music inspired me and cheered me up. I was at THIS performance in Oakland, CA in 1980. In 2021 I have yet to attend a better concert! RIP Maurice White I miss you so much!!! You made the most timeless and forever relevant music the world will ever hear.

It's sad how this music was demonized and now rap has no talent and everyone claims to be mean or rich, these guys are just fed up with worldly problems putting blood sweat and tears into a nice song like this
I watched this show on HBO, over and over and over again. I got a whipping for getting caught watching it late at night by my Grandad. SUUUUPER obsessed with it. It came out the same summer weekend with Rocky vs Mr T. I still remember the concert premiere commercial on HBO. It would be years later until i finally got to see them in concert for the Touch The World tour. 🌎 Oh God I can tell you alot of things i did that landed me in trouble with this one here 😅😅😅
I am saddened beyond measure at the loss of Maurice White. Earth, Wind, & Fire is my 2nd all-time favorite group, and he was Earth, Wind, & Fire. RIP.

Man I am old school /me and my wife and my cousin /her husband went to see ew/f in concert at the pavilion it's a concert hall owned by the caushatti casino in .lake charles louisiana /the one thing that impressed me was .these guys not only gave a great performance but they were jumping up while on stage like as though they.were in their twenties /just something you don't see everyday.another thing I found out is that phillip bailey can sing his ass off this dude has vocal range out of this world.don't believe me just go/see them in concert they still are the best band in the land

Was lucky enough to see them 3 times in the early 80s in Dusseldorf and Essen Germany when attached to the British Forces there. I maintain to this day they were the best "show" I've ever seen. Saw Phillip Bailey sing "Devotion" almost acopello over the crowd on a bridge and they were one of the first groups to use laser light shows. Brilliant. . You couldn't take your eyes off the stage for a moment. There was always dome thing moving or happening
This was how it was for me as well. I helped form a band that was very much like EWF and I was the Philip Bailey/ Percussionist of the band. I still believe they’re the best band I have ever seen to this day. None come close.

Paul Singer I don't think they were ever underrated, they were always considered great, even in their own era. In fact, as long as I have known about EW&F they were always considered the gold standard, the absolute best that ever did it.

I just went the earth wind and fire concert.. I'm 30 years of age was born 1987 and it hurts that I couldn't live in this era of live real music.. Just made you feel good and to have the want to do better... Missed out big time.. But I enjoyed myself. This is truly the best r&b band of all time.. 👋👎
