Yo guys, I’m still here! Just doing a bit more behind the scenes! Also, I was out of town when this video was filmed :P But thanks so much for the love! I feel it, guys! ☺️☺️🙏🙏
Bro so true, the stuff you said about martial arts film was right on point. You guys are amazing, I can’t wait to see you guys in Paper Tigers and Shang-Chi
I agree, most Hollywood movies nowadays just disappoints me with the action scenes. There’s too much editing that makes it choppy and makes the viewer dizzy.
Because Hollywood movies nowadays are for Feminist, and they don't give any crap about the quality of the scene. I do hope that the new Mortal Kombat movie this April will prove me wrong
True that. Heal fast! Fight fast! Film slow. Your fans await. After watching and practicing martial arts for 50 years, you have produced some of the best work I have seen. The love, passion discipline, and commitment are obvious in every video.
Y'all are so humble and genuine! Truly appreciate the art that Martial Club honors and represents when it comes to Kung-Fu/Action-filming. Praying for a fast recovery too!
I've been a huge fan of Jackie Chan for almost 2 decades. Seeing what you guys do just brings back so much nostalgia, especially since Jackie's now up there in age and can't make action movies like in his prime. I like to thank you guys for keeping the spirit of his classic movies alive. Much respect! I like to define Jackie's style as roughly 4 distinct styles: 1- Classic Kung Fu (Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, Drunken Master, Young Master etc.) 2- Brawler style (Police Story, Project A, The Protector, Armour of God etc) 3- Mr Nice Guy style (Police Story 4, Rumble in the Bronx, Mr Nice Guy, Who Am I etc.) 4- Hollywood style (Rush Hour, Shanghai Noon etc. his current style) From my layman's perspective you guys have pretty much distilled the essence of 1 and 3 and to some extent 4 which is kind of like an extension to 3. Style 2 to me is the holy grail of Jackie Chan movies, that was Jackie in his prime 80's. Would love to see you guys do some more in that vein.
It's thanks to indie crews like you guys and others on UA-cam that truly understand about selling fights and having the right choreography to make it fun and exciting. Really, the best fights/cinematography had been with the martial arts movies of the late 70's, 80's and overall 90's and crews like yours have been excellent to bring that style back. Love to see what can be thought of next and definitely will continue to support.
I always get hyped to see what you guys have been doing. Better believe I'm getting back in shape post surgery now so I'll start filming again soon 💪. Love you guys and hope all is well on your side👍
You guys are great. It really is down to the choreography and how you shoot it, that's what made classic martial arts movies so great and what a lot of films today lack, they may have talented martial artists but without a good action director and DOP, it's wasted. Good example is with Tony Jaa, very talented guy but without Panna his films action just doesn't have the same spark. You guys would make great movies if given the chance. Keep it up. Cheers
Excellent video MartialClub I’m glad you guys are doing what you do best and I hope you continue to make more martial arts videos keep up the good work Andy Le and Brian Le.
It's hard enough to be good at one thing... but to be good at filming martial arts action, you have to be good at multiple things (martial arts, videography, etc.) On top of it all, you have a good vision... that's so wild and makes so much sense. That probably explains why there is a lack of good martial arts films nowadays! I love martial club
I have to say this: YOU ARE AWESOME! I've been watching and loving martial arts movies my whole life, when I was just a kid I was amazed by all those incredible movements, the elegance, the rhythm... And you are the best continuation to that era. I've watched your videos and the feeling is exactly the same, but you continue to get better and better, always find a way to create new funny situations and excellent fights while maintaining the spirit. I love your channel!!! 👍✌️💪 And I hope you get well soon!
The philosophy you just shared on martial arts film making was spot on af. I miss late 80s early to late 90s martial arts film. The way you guys shut film is the way it should be
Brian I hope your leg/foot etc heals up soon, and heals up well! Great video guys, it was so good to see a video update! Keep pursuing your dreams and goals!! Also you guys were the first that I know of to point out how action scenes are so choppy these days. After hearing you guys say that I watched for it in movies, and yeah, all you see is people's faces and the camera often misses all the stances and the angles. To this day I still love watching your work because of your passion for both martial arts and cinematography
Keep it up. You guys are very inspiring with talent for days. Good vision. Good discipline. Hard work. Your love for the practice and traditions shows in every video.
If there was ever any doubt that Martial club is on the best way to martial art movie glory it is absolutely gone from existence after this video. You. Will. RULE. the martial arts movie genre, no doubt about it!
Hell yeah !, I'm happy to see you again guys!, you have returned with a very interesting and educational video, without a doubt the world of martial arts films is dense and with a lot of dedication, passion and work philosophy. That is why I follow your UA-cam channel!, you are an inspiration to me, your hard work, warrior spirit, and passion, motivates me to overcome the difficulties, not give up and return with more strength and more determination than ever, just like Bryan! HEHE. Greetings from Spain, I will certainly be here every Monday!
I understand this is a long shot. My 15 yr old son is interested in directing. He has been frustrated with lack of voices and narratives of the people who are beings shown, but not reflective of who they really are. If you guys be willing to do a short zoom session with him to answer his questions and give him some wisdom, that be amazing.
Perfect Example: Netflix's Iron Fist. I think the scene where the Iron Fist does cloud hands in the studio actually shortened my life span as well as the fight scene in that storage shelf room area where they cut the camera like 56 times or something. God its like I relieved the horror of M. Night Shyamalan's Choreograph in Avatar
"It shortened your life span! " 😂... I agree, I don't even watch those kind of fight scenes. It's easy to see what is a good fight and a good choreography and a good camera strategy filming.
In addition to what you said about action films and videography, there was another guy on youtube I watch who was speaking on the same subject and said that in Hollywood, action scenes are usually made to look "chaotic" on the screen as a way to make the actor kinda "look like they know what they're doing" because fighting scenes tend to not be important to the story so it's the 1st thing the gets truncated. So unless that action/fight scene is a climax or necessary to the story it tends to get put in the blender.
Letsss gooooo martial arts club im waitin on yall to make a full movie bro u guys are all off the chain an i love the way yall put it together just like in the old kung fu movies 💪🏾💯 an im first comment !
Wen i was young in the 90s we (Taekwon-do club) also make with a couple guys demo's and small video's (on VHS hahaha) very low kwality and not that high atletic posebily, but having fun so much. Reminding to this good times. We al now become old some of us serious injurys hip replacements but all still actif. I realy enjoy your movies, you are realy amazing to watch.. 👍 👍 👍 👍
I look forward to anything martial club has to offer. They’re the reason I practice martial arts and why I’m studying choreography.
