It can be very useful in certain scenes where you have to rely on CGI for unnatural/physically impossible scenes but movies nowadays rely on it for literally everything, you should see some of the behind the scenes footage it's all blue screen shots when when there's no need for it. This overreliance creates a visual "mush" that makes the whole experience bit less engaging compared to something like this which is less visually clear on a frame to frame basis, but it feels more visceral and elegant because it sets a tone. Another example is horror movies, you watch a top of the line horror flick and they shove CGI monsters in there and it doesn't feel scary at all, but youtubers putting together analog horror clips feels absolutely terrifying. That tone makes or breaks any scene or concept.
