Pretty sure Big mentioning the robot who kidnapped Froggy was a reference to Metal Overlord; not the E-Series robots. Black Doom isn't connected to the Time Eater, he was just exploiting it to regenerate himself and his forces faster. It seems that due to the Black Arms hivemind, our beloved Dark Lord cannot be so easily vanquished, and when his first body was destroyed he was instead reborn via the Death Spawn that was secretly left aboard The Ark. With him having scattered his forces throughout time in Generations, and there probably having been some stragglers survived on the world below when the Black Comet was sent back into space in Shadow 1... ... I wouldn't be surprised to see him again in at least one more game. They can probably do a story covering Shadow's thoughts on being born of dark-forces, now that we've had a game dedicated to making him feel his damn feelings again. Perhaps let him come to his own conclusions about what it means to be the darkness that gets to bathe in the light.
Ahhh you know what. The metal overlord one makes sense highkey. My head defaulted to Omega because Big had mentioned “the robot over there” because in my playthrough, I believe he said it before I even started the climb to get to Metal’s boss gate. Seeing Doom one more time would be interesting if they can weave another reason for him to come back together in a good way. I’m sure we’ll get answers during an interview at some point soon though!
Definitly one of my fav sonic game ever. Sonic team really can make excellent and well crafted experiences if given time, money and of course confidence . Seeing Maria and gerald was Nice, but i hope it won't be overused in the future, it won't make sense and it will lose the impact it has.
Exactly! Shadow Gens gives me so much more hope for whatever the next mainline game is. It’s probably going to have a bigger budget as well and I’m excited 😭
@@Jeriot115 The contrast in tone between Sonic Gens and Shadow Gens is what I feel like needs to happen more. Sonic can keep the light-hearted stories if it means that other characters have an opportunity to really get deep in their own games
Update 3 really unlocked a whole new level of skill expression. Recently got a new PC and am trying to tackle my backlog first, so I haven’t redownloaded Frontiers, but I do want to revisit it soon!
Definitely the best, every other Sonic game are a janky mess this one is the only Sonic game that’s actually polished and pretty close to flawless then every Sonic game ever made without a doubt
While I wouldn’t say everrry other. A good portion of recent games are. What makes a good Sonic game in my eyes is; If the gameplay is good and expressive, am I given a reason to care about/like these characters, and if the story is worth something. The werehog isn’t the best combat game, but I think it’s fun and the fact you have this gameplay switch up due to a story element is awesome. Shadow Gens captures all of those things, and is why it’s in my top Sonic games
Valid honestly. I know we’ll have people look back on these titles in about 10 years or so and say they weren’t great, but they deserve some respect just based on what they’re doing for the franchise
This is indeed the best game, its built perfectly unlike others, i hope frontiers 2 keeps it up
A more integrated story and the gameplay of shadow gens would be the Sonic game of all time
It IS definitely one of the best Sonic games, but I find Sonic Generations to be better(imo)

It’s so weird how the first shadow game failed and the new game won. I love it

I love Cyberspace from Frontiers! Its actually the only part I play now(since i have already beaten the game. Same witn Update 3)

All the haters saying this game is just Forces is crying now.
Never got why they were saying that. Some Sonic fans just look forward to games not being the best, I’ve noticed.
@Jiggyx3 Yeah seems like it.
What's up with the bottom corner of the screen? 💀
Heyyyyy uhh. I can explain 💀 (I can’t)
Not even close to the best sonic game but sure you do you
Subjectively speaking, it is the best for me as of recent years. All time, nahhh not even close
