Amazon did exactly the same to me when the Limited Edition Back to the Future box set was announced. You know, the one with the three time clocks on the front. I was in early and thought I was golden. However, like a lot of people here, I got an email saying it was cancelled , but they did give me a £5 credit. I rarely order from Amazon and have had some poor service from Zavvi. Mostly I order from or shop in-store at HMV now.
I’ve never actually had the bad experiences other have had with Zavvi. So I do still use them But it is bad when Amazon take these preorders and then starts cancelling them. I did get that back to the future set. But not at release it was down the line off eBay - possibly a couple years after release
Shocking practice 😮 the fun in collecting is rapidly disappointing. Scalpers, overpricing from distributors & shoddy retailers - be it cancelling or poor postage. Its as if they want physical media to disappear 🙄
Your absolutely right. Makes me question if I should step away from steels and collectors sets and just get the bulk standard releases. Also ☝️ on a separate note I’m finding my self more often than not disappointed by a lot of 4K transfers of older films also. Arrow is one who on several occassion have given out less than great 4K. I’ve heard Last Starfighter isn’t that great. I’ve yet to collect mine from HMV so unsure. But weird science and time bandits were pretty crap

Zavvi is also the same. If your bank card expires, you can't update them. One of the reasons I stopped using them with also what you mentioned about cancelling pre orders.
You can't update the card you have to re add it and put it back on as a new card. Really stupid when you have AI and some serious advances in technology 😮
Not surprised by this at all, once again treating customers awfully. Not rocket science but limit one copy per customer so the scum scapers don't get hold of them. I don't really pre order so I have been lucky with the few that I have. In regards with Zavvi, can't you just cancel with your bank, great video mate

But you’ll see people ok the FB groups with box with 5 in or something. Should be limited 1 per customer and have a limited amount to pre order they know they can cover. Then when they get notification of how many they will be getting put the rest up for sale

I ordered 2 copies of Jaws one for me and one for my friend they just disappeared from my orders I phoned I was told they was not getting any stock very sorry I tried to argue but just kept saying getting no stock very angry about it 😡😡😡

I never claimed it to be Rubbish. Boring yes. What I said was. It’s overlong. Overstretched for its story. And although the ‘best looking ‘ in that it was shot in the real world. It was overly repetitive in some of its narrative decisions in order to reach its allocated episode length. I stand by that fact it is Dull and tedious. And a drag to get through. Rubbish ? No. Boba Fett is worse. - but I’d likely watch that before Andor. Also Andor has now been elevated by the fact Acokyte IS rubbish and I didn’t get Beyond ep 2

I wouldn’t have though at £50 But selling the blurays on for £25 thusly means I only paid £25 for the steelbook and 4K’s But … that completist thinking has ended with Star Wars now and Acolyte. Happily ignore that. As I have with watching it.

I was going to make The Batman comparison but i also think the whole trilogy will bring that together , Kinda like the Dune movies not saying they need it. the first one is slower, pt 2 is fast pace Go Go Go as for Dune Messaih is the darkest of the lot.
