The CRX came with some Enkei JSpeed wheels, but they had been neglected so long, the clear coat on the lips was coming off and oxidizing badly. In this episode, I sand and polish the lips to even better than the original machined lip!

I gotta try polishing my Honda sawblades too, everyone usually just paints them flat silver but I like their original look more
It's nice to see these cars fixed up you did a good job 😮👍🏽👍🏽
Well, I really can’t wait for part 5, this channel has some really, really good content that I never want to miss, 10 to 10
Yes
I’m digging the brushed finish.
Man those Enkei's really cleaned up nicely! Really nice man! Can't wait to see this CRX in person!
Yes
Awesome 👌 good job with the rims
The wheels look really good. I know you put in work to get them looking good.
Thanks!
Nice job! They came out beautiful
Needed this vid, my track R’s need some love on the polish.
My wheels looking happy now thanks bud!
Daaanng...all by hand!! I would've been like, where's my polishing ball and drill!!!
@@crxseth Hey the end result is what matters. The lip on those wheels looks excellent.
Incredible attention to detail. New subscriber!
Incredible. Very nice jobb.
Doin mine as I watch vid...your doin clean work homeslice! One love
Yes
Nice job
I got a set similar to these. I have the J10 in black and also needs to be repolished. Thinking about changing the color of the paint though. Yours came out super clean.
Perfect 👌
one of my favourite enkei.....
My dad used to have those wheels on his boosted b18c swapped ek hatch🔥
Great shine
Really nice
Love it🔥🔥🔥
Definitely a thumbs 👍 for all your effort you put in
Watching this video makes me want to repolish my gsr blades on my ek sedan
Came here from deadbeat garage and love the channel so for!! Love the diy need more
Thinking about doing this with my te’s. I got a deal on them because 2 of them had a cracked lip from an accident. After fixing them they have a large patch where its polished and the rest is a more greyish/black color too it. The polished part really stands out when driving so i was thinking of polishing it all so it matches
It’s a lot of work, but worth it.
just found your channel really enjoying the videos ! keep it up !
Yes
you saved me buying another set of wheels 😭😭
The biggest hassle is getting rid of the clear coat. When I did mine it took around 4 hours per wheel just to sand down the lip.
What was the total amount of time invested on finishing the wheels? Great job man, as with everything you’ve ever done!
rims would look good in black
💪💪..
To us Honda guys that’s a gangster wheels
the video I need..
Yo next time mount your rims on the front and jack it up, put it in gear and you can just polish the wheels like that. Careful fingers lol. Nice work, nice car.
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Bro you should try dura-coating metal polish it haves way better shine than mothers polish
La bisasse de France 😁
Thank you so much I have the same rims in black with silver dish area and flakes .. not as bad as yours but definitely annoying to the eye ..
Wheels look great, just a general question how long was the total time for sanding down the lips?
Probably a couple hours on each wheel.
Should have stripped the clear with aircraft stripper would have made it a lot easier, just tape off the faces so they don’t get touched
what kind of tape do you recommended to make sure this striipper doesnt leak through ?

Hey man, just found your channel. What part of Kentucky are you from? Im right outside of Owensboro.
@@crxseth that isnt too bad. I like your content and the fact that you do everything properly. I hope you remember this comment if you're ever out this way, I'd love to check out either of the crx's.
Hey, what if I just use paint remover to remove the clear coat instead of sanding it?
You can but if there is oxidation, you still have to sand, so it’s just an added step.
Do they need to have a clear coat to save the shine
You can, but I chose to leave them raw and polish as needed. Keeping them clean and dry is key.
@@crxseth Will clear coat stick to the polishing product at all?
@@mikebonev1876 I have never tried, as I’m afraid it would not.
@@crxseth same here I just wonder how to make it last longer, maybe some wax will do
@@mikebonev1876 Just keep them clean and do not let water dry on them.
Hey man, what size is your garage!
No clear coat?
No. Just raw polished aluminum. Little more upkeep, but looks a lot better.
The sand paper mix water or oil ?
Water.
Can I use dremel and achieve the same result?
can you throw a clear coat on that so it dosent rust up
Aluminum doesn’t rust, but keeping them clean, dry, and polished is the best way to keep them shiny. I don’t think clear coat will stick to such a polished surface.
Not sure if u were trying to talk during some of that but your background music was blasting
Unfortunately before I started subscribing to copyright free music, I was using other sources and sections of this video got flagged for copyright so I had to either take it down or put UA-cam music over those parts. Not ideal, but at least I could keep the video up.
Good video just in the beginning the music over powers your talking..but love the crx's
Thanks. Yeah, I hadn’t perfected the audio at this point. I think I had to layover some audio due to a copyright strike as well. :(
@@crxseth yeah I hear you ..but like anything else you'll get the hang of it keep up the good video's
Took me 3 hours to sand with 600 grit on ONE wheel… 3 more stages to go… then repeat
Keep it up! Lots of time and work but worth it.
@@crxseth finished 2 days ago. Wow. What a pain. Totally worth it!
Music background to loud neway nice video
I can almost hear you over the music
Sorry. Copyright issues with old music left me having to overlay new music. Audio is terrible on this video now. :(
music could be bit lower
Yeah, the copyright folks got me so I had to use UA-cam music to cover up old audio.
Music isn't necessary man when you make a good video, I was more concerned if you were going to put some clear coat back on those rims??
No, they are bare polished aluminum. Just needs to be kept clean and a maintenance polish every so often.
@@crxseth thanks man, im thinking of doing my rims I didn't know if its a chrome dish or aluminum, looking for a mirror finish though, clear wont help the mirror look 🤔
what for this music I cannot hear you !
Sorry. There was a copyright claim on the original so UA-cam overlaid music over my original.
What is with the music. I have to struggle to hear you.
Unfortunately this video was before I started paying for music to use so it got hit with copyright claims so I had to dub over with copyright free music. Sorry. :(
Next time maybe put the music down so we can actually listen to what you are saying
This video got hit with a copyright claim so the only way to fix it was to overlay UA-cam music. :(
Sanding wheels sucks.
