Am I the only one experiencing audio problems in this video. Its cuts out a couple times throughout the video.
No I had to take some of the music out. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I thought the same thing to 😂
In the most important parts too lol
LMAOOO, spends 50k+ on truck thats modded to go off roading but can't because the wheels and tires cants handle it. Even dumber than somebody scraping frame on a static car.
To each their own. Thanks for watching.
to each his own.
His videos are great and annoying allat the same time.....why does he mute his videos
Tlotti 0115 the music was flagged by copyright so I had to cut the music.
The key is to not have fuckboy rims and honda tires on a lifted truck and actually use it for its intended purpose
The only thing worse than guys who build expensive trucks that yhey like to take really good care of, are the.cry baby fucks who complain about it under some false pretense when really its because you work at fucking burger king and could never afford American Force wheels to begin with.
Thanks for watching.
You could probably build a mini wheel apparatus with a foot control to spin tires for you. Just butt it up against the tire and control the speed with your foot.
Great idea thank you
Nice
Incredible work, I think the scratched rims at the start looked better than mine did when new! Spare a thought for those of us in the UK, where the salted roads in Winter absolutely destroy polished rims within a few years, unless you have a very strict cleaning and protection routine.
Here in Wisconsin they get beat bad too. This video was shot in sunny California. Here in my home state the stuff is way rougher.
Pro tip dont lay your compound on the ground it will pick up dirt and gravel😉
GATORSK8TER I usually have a chair but when flying in my tooling options are limited.
Here is a fast way ✅ to Polish Aluminum wheels 👀: ua-cam.com/video/mem_eVxI2_8/v-deo.html
I agree to disagree but thank you for the great video.
Hi Evan, new polisher & drag racer ,67yrs. new. My 14'' weld pro star rear wheels have some large grouping of deep pits. Wondering what grit to use & which tool you would chose. Thank you , like your videos, will need some products, have lots of toys !
Check out my how to sand aluminum video. You will see all the tools we use. As far as grits I say only go as deep as you need to as you will have to work your way all the way back up again to 600 to make it polishable. If you need more info text me at 9209790386 with pictures of the pits and I will do my best to help you sort out which grit would be best.
*“got into some gravel and ruined his wheel”* 😂😂😂 that’s the problem with these new poor excuses for a Truck, all wheel and pecker length of rubber
To each their own. Forged wheel polishing is good business.
Hi it’s a really awesome😊video. I have a question what grit number did you used on DA?
This wheel specifically was 400 and 600 grit. But each wheel is different. Some wheels need deeper and some don't need any sandpaper at all..
"Got into some gravel" what a pavement princess. X)
Marius Hansen as much as I agree with you, if I payed that much for wheels I’d probably be anal about keeping them shinny
LMAO!! I was going to say exactly the same thing! Verbatim!

Hello Evan just wanted to drop you a line of thanks. I've watched a bunch of you videos in preparation of polishing my well under maintained Boyd Coddington billet wheels. I must say you literally lay out the blue prints for a successful polish to an average Joe like me. I followed your recommendations with buffs, compounds and polish to a tee. With that, anyone with a cheap Warrior buff like I have can achieve fantastic results. Thank you so much and go shine on!
I am glad to help. Thank you for stopping by and supporting the channel. I truly appreciate it. Sorry the audio cuts out. I had to remove some copyrighted music.
Awesome videos and you take the time to reply to everyone. That’s very cool. Thanks for all the advice; I’m starting a horse trailer for a friend and just ordered some stuff you recommended for safety.God bless you and your family brother
Glad to help. I try to respond the best I can. But it can be a lot at times. Thank you for the kind words and supporting.
my chrome rims are really bad the chrome is pealing off sooo what do i doo sand reall good till all chrome is gone and than paint again or what you recommend
I can’t mess with chrome. Best thing to do is take to a chrome plater to strip.
Dont have experience with rotary but I use a da all the time because I work in a body shop. Could I just use like 600 or 800, and do finer wet sanding with 1500 or 3000 until I get to where I can use a polishing cone on a drill?
Justin you can but you won’t get that deep rich shine without building up heat.
Justin Great Question Man....
Bro i couldnt hear nothing you were saying your vid keep cutting out bad
Sorry bud.
Great Video Evan! thanks for taking the time to really talk about every step!
jerryjoe28 glad to help.
horrible video , less talk more buffing
Appreciate the input. I do have shorter videos here on my channel that are more to the point and less info.
Does sanding the wheels change the weight like would I have to rebalance
It can if you remove enough material. Light sanding will not affect the weight that much.
Good job, I worked 20+ years restoring antique furniture, wood and metal, polishing metal and more, a set like this is totally worth the investment if you want to make some money polishing wheels, if you own a car or truck with nice wheels, it's totally justified investing in a polishing kit , practice makes perfect, practice in scrap metal, and be patient... You be so proud with the final results... follow step by step instructions..
Thank you. Much appreciated. Thanks for watching
If you cant take your huge 2500 lifted truck on " Gravel " you need some different rims man.

Looks like a great video but the sounds goes out intermittently. What's going on? I don't see any other comments indicating that but that's what happened when viewing this one. The first break is at 4:29 it lasts until 6:06. The next one happens at 9:51. Audio comes back at 10:38. Audio stops again at 11:48 and returns at 13:02. Audio again stops at 13:21 and doesn't return through out the rest of the video. I don't see any other comments indicating this. What could be wrong? You should check this and see if something has happened to your vlog. Would have loved to hear the whole presentation.
johnnyohness I had copyrighted music in it so I had to remove it.
That's a better finish than new I guess. Fantastic results. Thanks for sharing.
Appreciate that. Thank you for watching.
I always use this as a reference video but saw you had to cut the audio would be awesome if you made a new one without the cuts, anyway great tutorial
Yeah working on it.
I’m surprised this “pro” didn’t ask that you wear a NASA approved astronaut 👩🚀 suit to prevent harming yourself and goggles. To polish your wheels a pro would suggest taking them of the vehicle.
OMG_its_TexMex!!!! * lots of pros polish on the truck.
Evan Steger most “pro” wheel polishers i ever seen also smoke crack..... just sayin lol
Big Worm that’s a shame. I know a lot of reputable drug free polishers doing it right.
Evan, this is probably a dumbass question, but what grit are you using on the DA and are those buffing wheels reusable? How often do they get replaced?
Christian France the grit always varies. I work up to 600 always then polish. The buffs can be used until they are worn out.
Why are you calling it a "DA"? Is it not more accurately known as an orbital sander?
Who edited the video? You cut off the narrative at vital information points and sped through important dialogue. You’re fired!
GRRRRRRRR!!!
Yeah sorry. The editor had copyright music in that had to get taken out and with that went some of the vocal... Super sad and I need to reshoot this someday.
How can u drive a expensive truck with expensive lift with expensive rims but have them bald tires haha
He has all his money in all those spendy parts he can no longer afford tires..
No they don't have deep tread from the beginning. They're rated for like fifty thousand miles and it's a 10 ply tire. I don't understand why you're even watching the video oh yeah that's right because you're dreaming. Just like I see everybody hating on me and my truck saying Little Things. But we all know deep down you guys all just want a piece of the pie. And can't get there LOL. He's probably got at least 20,000 more miles. You got to get what you can out of them! Of course they look a little deeper when they're new but he's still got enough on them. Why don't you learn what you're talking about before you post because you can't afford them and don't know what you're talking about. That would probably be a good thing.
fishsizzle 😂😂😂😂 u just made me laugh that was a good come back yur a big boy now I’m only 23 and own 3 trucks all paid for and one of those is a lifted 2016 high country too of the line on forged rims with waaayyyyy better tires and more fixed than yur I’m not hating on yur truck I think it looks clean as well but if u gonna have a truck like that and wheels like those don’t expect to not be called out on them I’m not the only one that’s gonna bring them up
Carlos Perez what are you talking about you never even seen my truck! This isn't my video. What are you drunk? And I don't care if you have 3 or 8 trucks paid off at 24. I don't care if you're a drug dealer I don't care what Persona you're trying to throw out here. I'm just saying you're probably maybe even a little Rich Boy with Grandpa money. What kind of person watches a video on how to clean rims and comments on their tires being bald. Go to bed time for you to go night night.
WELL YOU HAVE TO BE A FUCKING IDIOT TO DRIVE SOMETHING LIKE THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE ,SO THE TIRES FIT !!!!
What typically does a job like this take for all 4 wheels? Can you do the same to a gloss black rim?
CRFHONDARIDER100 way different process for gloss black.
Hello friend, how are you? My name is Carlos, I'm from Brazil, here I also work with polishing, I like this model of polishing wheels that you use, please, can you give me the specifications of the colors and size and model of the flange? Grateful
Why did u use brown with the yellow and orange buff. I tried it on my forged wheels leaves a lot of scratches. I saw in another u went with orange and brown then yellow and green?
Yellow and brown is a softer cut. I do that after the orange and brown sometimes to get a finer finish before I white wheel. Thanks for watching.
what Rpm did u start with? (orange wheel)
6,000 rpm.
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishingi keep getting hash on 3500rpms with orange pad for cutting any tips ?

Will this work for those aluminum torque thrust? They been sitting in the weather for several years and have bad oxidation
Hey Evan where can I buy the compound and polish attachments for the angle grinder thank you for taking a minute of your time it's appreciated man

Evan Steger thanks man
Hey, Who is the Music by sounds awsome?? also great Video
Not sure tbh.
Are the buffs rated for 6000rpm and if not have you ever had a problem with them coming apart? Thanks
The buffs are only rated for 3500 rpm or less. In my 19 years in business I have only seen a few blow apart. When they do its bad but you just gotta be careful.
One thing though jacking a vehicle up on the control arm the jackpot does not sit level I have had a car come off doing that and when the rotors on the ground it’s a pain in the fucking ass
Best video yet, nice getting a complete explanation of the different color buffs and polishes.
I'm surprised he hasn't built some kind of portable tire turner with a foot controller like a trolling motor that's variable speed.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
I've been trying to dream something up that would work for that. But haven't come up with anything that makes money or sense yet. But it is still in the back of my mind. Thank you for the great comment and idea. Appreciate the support.
Thank you for watching and commenting. I am happy you found this video helpful. Liking the idea of a portable tire turner. Thanks for the support!
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing They already exist. Look at rollers for bump starting racing motorcycles.
Or, if you don't mind taking the wheels off, circle track racers have a tire stand that spins for dressing the tire treads.
Those aren't powered, but they'll allow you to polish without having to be hunched over close to the ground.
Or just grab an old variable speed buffer, make a base out of a 2x4, and use an old buff as a drive wheel. Set it touching the tread, use a screen door spring or a rubber strap for some preload and use that for an external drive motor.
Can you put the steps in the comments
Every job is different. This specific job was 400 and 600 grit sanding. Then orange buff with brown compound. Then yellow buff brown compound. Then a hand polish followed with the 40 ply loose white pad with green rouge for final gloss. All of these items are available on goshineon.com/shop
I love this type of work but it’s hard on your back. Good job, one question why didn’t you spray a light mist of water to help soften up your compound ?
Amir Abdullah I never mix water. I want the sealant in the compound to set. Not release.
Is there anything to put on after the polish to protect it. Maybe wax or detailer. I'm restoring some centerlines now
cf mechanic I use rebel red to maintain from goshineon.com/shop
What grit sandpaper where you using
I think it was just 400 and 600. Sorry it was a long time ago. I think I mentioned it in the video. I'd have to rewatch it.
thanks bro! @@EvanStegerMetalPolishing

Bro, you did an awesome job.. I have a brown clay bar..and I'm using a cheap drill from habor freight.. I first used the brown to cut it.. then I used the white bar.. but my rims ain't "glass" like that.. What am I missing?
brokeas need more than a drill to get high gloss. You need to build up heat.
Hi I was wondering if I have a factory part painted and part polished motorcycle rim can I strip the paint off of it and make it and all polished rim
Sometimes yes.
is there a sealant that you can put on after that protects.. from.. the road grime
like the calcium...plus.. when.. they acid wash.. your truck.. like streaking..beacon...
Not much is safe from acid. Most clearcoats and ceramics aren't fans of acid. I just keep mine hand polished on a regular basis or use alumaclear from goshineon.com/shop. It is an easy on easy off clear that will protect your wheels.

@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing thanks so much for the reply im about to make my first purchase of the dewalt 3500rpm over the makita im just now getting into this forged wheel polishing so would you recommend just the brown and green rouge bar with the orange cut and yellow color buff or should i step up and also buy a white buff and a blue bar just to have that extra step after throwing on a hand polish like you recommend
Jared Trivette I never use blue. I don’t like the color it leaves. I prefer the dark rich shine of the green compound. You can use a white buff with the green and still get a great finish. Use my links to purchase a buffer. They are the cheapest and best I’ve found.
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing thanks again for the reply! ill be sure to order what i need i threw myself into a world that i was unsure of figured i would ask the professional for his opinion so i wasn't buying unnecessary stuff
Do you go 2200 rpm or less on all the cuts to or just the finish
Just the finish. I run 6,000 on the heavy cut stages.
The audio cut out?
Yeah I can't figure out how to fix this.
Ditto on the audio.
Sorry bud.
Thanks man best video, you do very nice work 💪👌🤙
I appreciate that!
10:31 I'd love to learn how to polish aluminum rims I'm from Cecilia Louisiana
I have training courses online and in person. You can email ellen@goshineon.com for more info or you can watch step by step videos here. Thank you for watching. Best of luck!
What grade sand paper did you use?
I WISH YOU WERE IN NC MY 22'S NEED IT BAD
I wish we could be everywhere. It's just hard to travel that far and make money.
How come you use the green bar instead of the blue for for the final polish?
I like the deep rich color that the green leaves. The blue is too light of a color for my personal preference.
I wouldve waited till I put a new set of tires on 1st.
Thanks for watching.
Where u located
Chilton Wisconsin
What grit sand paper did you use? And in what order? 600, 800?
In this specific video I did 400 and 600. Thank your for watching.
I’ve never tackled this before but it seems a lot easier than going through 5-6 different stages of sanding then LSP
True
Say E u a BEAST dude. BLESSINGS bro💯
Appreciate that. thank you for watching.
Evan what process would I take to restore wheels that have brake dust caked on them?
I would use an iron remover or brake dust remover first to loosen and then buff and color the wheel. If it doesn't wash off then use sanding but only if necessary.
Question what is the difference on the final finish compound between the light blue and green? I've been using the blue compund on the final and use the green on the secondary
Manny Morales check out my video on rouge colors. The difference is the color it leaves behind.
Any pro tips for a guy attempting this for his first time? The wheels are in much worse condition
Take your time and be patient. Other than that watch a lot of my videos. LOL They aren't as easy as I make them look. LOL
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing yeah you definitely make it look way too easy!
Can you do a video of what color rudge for what color wheel
We actually have a few videos explaining the different rouges and buffs. and how to mix match them.
Where r u located?
How much to do some 16.5x14 welds?
I'm in Chilton, WI and price varies on current condition. We charge by the amount of work we have to put into them.
Why is it scratching when polishing? Please help
How do u slow down your grinder cuz mines is just burning up the rouge
Francisco Herrera I don’t slow mine down. I just keep it wet.
can you recommend any polishers in north new jersey?
BigPete Peter Racanelli is up there. As is Jared's Polishing
can you clear coat after sand and polish.
Soldier1287 you can but I don’t recommend it. It will haze the shine a little.
ok
Is there any way possible for you to do this video again.
I did.
