    Hello Evan just wanted to drop you a line of thanks. I've watched a bunch of you videos in preparation of polishing my well under maintained Boyd Coddington billet wheels. I must say you literally lay out the blue prints for a successful polish to an average Joe like me. I followed your recommendations with buffs, compounds and polish to a tee. With that, anyone with a cheap Warrior buff like I have can achieve fantastic results. Thank you so much and go shine on!

    Incredible work, I think the scratched rims at the start looked better than mine did when new! Spare a thought for those of us in the UK, where the salted roads in Winter absolutely destroy polished rims within a few years, unless you have a very strict cleaning and protection routine.

      Here in Wisconsin they get beat bad too. This video was shot in sunny California. Here in my home state the stuff is way rougher.

    Good job, I worked 20+ years restoring antique furniture, wood and metal, polishing metal and more, a set like this is totally worth the investment if you want to make some money polishing wheels, if you own a car or truck with nice wheels, it's totally justified investing in a polishing kit , practice makes perfect, practice in scrap metal, and be patient... You be so proud with the final results... follow step by step instructions..

    You could probably build a mini wheel apparatus with a foot control to spin tires for you. Just butt it up against the tire and control the speed with your foot.

      @@EvanStegerMetalPolishing They already exist. Look at rollers for bump starting racing motorcycles.
      Or, if you don't mind taking the wheels off, circle track racers have a tire stand that spins for dressing the tire treads.
      Those aren't powered, but they'll allow you to polish without having to be hunched over close to the ground.

    • @earlbrown
      @earlbrown Рік тому

      Or just grab an old variable speed buffer, make a base out of a 2x4, and use an old buff as a drive wheel. Set it touching the tread, use a screen door spring or a rubber strap for some preload and use that for an external drive motor.

If you need more info text me at 9209790386 with pictures of the pits and I will do my best to help you sort out which grit would be best.

    Evan, I need your help. i have buffed and polished my stainless steel sink using red and pink airway buffer with black and yellow roque. I also see a product Zephyr Pro-40 that can be buffed using cloth until it turns black and wipe off. question is how is the airway buff wheel pink different from PRO-40 is there a difference between they two, or if i know how to use red and pink to cut and color, then Zephyr Pro-40 is not needed. or Zephyr Pro-40 is used as protectant.. Please advise.

    • @EvanStegerMetalPolishing
      @EvanStegerMetalPolishing  Місяць тому

      Stainless is a non-porous metal it doesn’t need a protectant. The pro 40 is made for aluminum and likely will not turn black on stainless. If you’re going to do anything on stainless, you would use a chrome polish after buffing. I personally don’t use the Zephyr stuff as I have my own brand, but you can use as you wish.

    Hi Evan. First let me start that you are amazing doing what you do. My question is what do you use to take the clear and thick coats of paint off of aluminum rims. I'm going crazy throwing everything at it. Lol. I hope that you can help me with this. Thank you very much sir. You're the man.

      I don't do painted wheels. They are too time consuming and hard to still make money doing them. So as a business I shy away from them most of the time. Sorry I can't be more help.

    • @EvanStegerMetalPolishing

      Yellow and brown is a softer cut. I do that after the orange and brown sometimes to get a finer finish before I white wheel.Thanks for watching.

    just got myself a set of forces im new to the polishing im curious if i buy a dewalt dwp849x and a orange yellow and white buff what size should i get the 9"? and does it need a extension on the shaft?....also how come you don't drop down to a blue rouge when using a white buff? would it not give you a better polish?

    • @EvanStegerMetalPolishing
      @EvanStegerMetalPolishing  6 років тому

    • @EvanStegerMetalPolishing
      @EvanStegerMetalPolishing  6 років тому

      Jared Trivette I never use blue. I don’t like the color it leaves. I prefer the dark rich shine of the green compound. You can use a white buff with the green and still get a great finish. Use my links to purchase a buffer. They are the cheapest and best I’ve found.
