DIY Motorcycle acrylic Windscreen Timelapse

In this video I'll be doing the windscreen seen in the previous video.
The starting point is a acrylic sheet 4mm thick.
The motortcycle pictured is my 1993 Honda NX 650 Dominator.

Wind resistence at highway speed (120km/h) is noticeable but not in a big way, the bike has plenty power still, wind protection is better than original
That alu-box is light but ofc is very far back and high on the bike, you can feel it when it is loaded

Nice concept and method in doing this. But Acrylic Material is not recommended for Motor shield since this is brittle and easy to break. This might incur additional risk hazard to both rider and back rider even during slight crash.

thanks for the pointer, I noticed cracks forming on the sides after some time, these were the areas I heated with the heat gun

@@pgproductions4432 ciao stavo pensando di fare qualcosa di simile anch'io, ho letto che tanti se lo costruiscono in Lexan, che non dovrebbe fissurarsi o rompersi in mille pezzi in caso di impatto, però qua da noi non saprei dove andare a prenderlo :-/

@@digitalfrrreak ciao, il policarbonato è conosciuto anche come lexan, magari con questo nome lo trovi più facilmente. Il problema del policarbonato è che assorbe tanta acqua, quando lo scaldi per piegarlo si formano delle bollicine di vapore che rimangono rinchiuse nel materiale e quindi visibili. Ti consigno di fare un po' di ricerca in merito. Ciao

Acrylic glass / plexiglass. As someone pointed in the comments, PC (Poly-carbonate) is a much better material for this application. The acrylic is now (after a year) cracking around the edges.
