McGinnis is a playable hero in Deadlock, wielding a machine gun and whose abilities revolve around the usage of structures like turrets and walls she can create to support allies and hold down positions to the benefit of her team and if the situation goes awry, she can launch a powerful barrage of rockets at her enemies. A talented engineer who started her career from a young age, McGinnis isn't fond of theoretical work, thus spending most of her time working in a mechanics shop, often meddling with the supernatural.

@@thelordofthelostbraincells yeah. It's kinda more of a hots thing, since gazlowe can have a ton of turrets. Pre-rework gazlowe could have truly a town of turrets, hence the meme. I think that pally actually created that meme. Or FanHots, I'm not really sure at this point

One very good purchase on this build that pally didnt get is ''Mystic Slow''. This allows your turrets to lower their damage output and most importantly slow them down. Its genuinely one of the most frustrating things for opponents to play against and makes it REALLY hard to gank her.
Just gonna thank you for the comment and suggest a little correction for clarification - "[purchasing Mystic Slow] allows your turrets to lower -your opponents'- damage output... "
Mystic Slow is just bonkers in general tbh.
Great video! Love you to pieces! Four item recommendations- Heroic Aura (Gun) increases your turrets (and minions) fire rate by 40% when you're near them; Refresher (Spirit) allows you to put down 4 turrents, refresher and put down 4 more in the span of like 5 seconds; and Healing booster (Health), really amps your healing on your turrets; lastly Mystic Slow- it makes your turrets slow their movement and also their damage output. I also like to get healing items like Rescue Beam (Health) and Health Nova (Health) so that after I put my turrets down I can switch my focus to healing my team mates.
In the early game- I like to focus on getting 3 gun power ups really early since it, once you have these 3, 500 soul items, your gun will do 49% more damage to players if you're above 60% health which is easy to do on McGinnis, and 84% more damage on minions and guardians! That's insane value for 1500 souls. Slowing bullets is also a nice pick up to keep them in your turret range longer.

Listen, as McGinnis, sometimes you need to make sacrifices for the greater good. Thankfully, as she says, her teammates will not be around to complain after she uses it incorrectly.

Quick correction about Mystic Vulnerability: it doesn't stack with itself. Once you deal any spirit damage, that target gets hit with a -12% spirit resistance debuff, but it won't stack each time you deal more spirit damage. Once you upgrade it into Escalating Exposure, then it works the way you think where it adds a stacking amp to all spirit damage dealt each time the target takes spirit damage. But until you upgrade to Escalating Exposure, Mystic Vulnerability just applies a single instance of a -12% spirit resistance debuff
Side note, although this interaction is pretty not notable, this means your mystic vulnerability is actually stronger than the first stack of Escalating, meaning if you're just using one ability just for the sake of procing it, you're better off not buying it until much later for the stat increases.

glad you found glazlows adopted niece, keep up the sick content. also, sliding after dashing by crouching gives more distance than just dashing. you can also curve the slide. also charge punches are more efficent for farming.

when I do mcginnis turret build, i always use my ult on the big camps. shreds them instantly since you already spec into a ton of spirit. which speeds up farming. 1 turrest for tier 1 camps. 2 for tier 2. and ult for the larger tier 3. and ill usually hit camp side, push lane, teleporter to other side, ult big camp, push that side, and go back and fourth on the two outer lanes. its so evil but works thanks to teleporter.
McGinnis is like the love child of Sgt Hammer and Gazlorde
20:20 mystic vulnerability doesn't stack, its a flat debuff on spirit dmg, its upgrade, escalating exposure does have a stacking component.
Came here to say this.
Both Mystic Vulnerability and Escalating Exposure apply a single flat Spirit Resist reduction, 12% and 15% respectively; reapplying the debuff only refreshes its duration.
Escalating Exposure also grants a _stacking_ 6% Spirit Amp vs the target every time you damage them; there is a cap, though I'm not sure exactly what it is.
I'm not exactly sure how the Resist reduction and Spirit Amp scale off each other, whether it's multiplicative or additive. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate the info.
Pally, i have never played HOTS, and i dont play Deadlock but when you are having fun - the energy you bring is infectious

McGinnis main tip. Early game focus your turrets deaths to deny their dropped soul. It’ll give your opponent a slight to eventually hefty lead. It adds up.
Edit: With her ult- aim straight up and you’ll fire on top of yourself if someone gets close.

that autofarm stray works well but I think your turrets aren't strong enough yet. Plus those chunky camps can be easily taken with an ult, which is an easy quick 1k farm

Bro, I love this build and play it every game, she's my main and you could as well, that was so awesome. And yes, I also add Slowing Bullets to keep them in the turrets but you didn't need that at all, a good wall is a good wall.

If you're going to spam an ability with charges, you're better off getting Refresher instead of Echo Shard. Refresher will take all your abilities off cool down and fill all your charges when you use it. Whereas Echo Shard is basically a second cast of your last non-ult ability and it doesn't refresh all your charges. They both cost 6.2k the main difference is in the cool down of each. Echo Shard has a cooldown of around 36s and Refresher has a cooldown of about 240s. So Echo Shard is better if you're looking to spam non-charge abilities, but getting everything back at once is usually worth it with Refresher
the camp at 15:31 is a t2 camp, your turret did not finish it off, as you can see at 16:09 there is a creep left in the corner.

hope we get some just regular ol gameplay. or actually some co-op games would be dope, start experimenting with team comps in lanes or something, cause all the content on deadlock i see is "how to solo the game " or something.
escalating exposure does not remove 15% spirit resist per stack, it removes 15% spirit resist flat and then deals an aditional 6% spirit dmg per stack

instead of slowing bullets you shoud get mystic slow, same thing but for spirit dmg so it works on turrets.
I did this build the other day and it's super fun until you get chain cc'ed by an infernus and wraith... one thing is wish you could do with this build is throw her turrets down a bit quicker.
Quick cast settings are in game now and make the turret dropping much faster.
I think this is my favoirte build ive seen out of this game yet

I think you overfarmed here. Your team was barely holding it together, or often not, while you racked up souls. I love the video, great build, but I don't think it was fun for the rest of your team for most of that game.
How is this game getting traction? It looks and sounds weird and the gameplay is just a big mashup of lots of stale bullshit we've already seen before. The character designs are so shitty that they look like they were coerced at gunpoint from austistic children who were told every design had to be 100% "unique", which I guess is Valve's way of saying "amateurish and pathetic"
