his snares are extremely thick wooden 12'' snares, you can get close with a 13'' or 12'' snare, with a p77 on it. I have a tama starphonic 13x7 and it gets extremely close to the gods snare

@@JoshuaPlaysMusic I think the approach is different between II and Danny Carey. I believe II with Vessel create songs in a very particular way. I suspect they basically create the songs in Rock/Metal/Pop/Hip-Hop style and then they “cover” theirselves in Jazz/Blues/Gospel style. I write this because I’ve never heard a real cover of Sleep Token, so to me it seems like they already “cover” theirselves.
I love introducing trained musicians to Tool. Usually their first reaction is to get out something to write with and figure out the time signature while asking "what the hell is this?"
