People don't talk enough about the tasty ride articulations II throws in all the time, it's just... it's got that extra spice that makes the songs so revisitable
I agree! The flourishes he does between the ride and hi-hat are one of my favorite aspects of his playing. It adds so much to the groove of the songs without being intrusive or overbearing
Clean, and incredible articulation with his triplets and strokes, pure precision. Masterful musician and awesome display. Years of practice there without doubt.
This dude's playing is tasteful and dynamic. But let's talk about something less obvious: Kudos to the video editor that kept the different angle shots longer than 2 seconds. Drumeo is now even doing the ADHD drum cam thing.
I know we're here for II but thas bass player was also jamming in the background . I never even noticed until now. Sleep Token has been on my list of concerts to attend but I haven't made it yet, hopefully I get the chance to experience this in person one day.
I was there for this show, absolutely incredible. Aside from the overall vibe, lyrics/vocals... II is definitely what makes this band stand out. They're all excellent musicians, obviously, but II's drumming is what makes their songs really stand out and pop. It was so great to see them live and see that he's somehow possibly better live? Mind blowing. I wish I could go back and experience it again for the first time.
I love IIs drumming, snappy snare sound. Let's not forget the awesome crew behind this sound, besides the amazing II, Sam, Thom and everybody backstage making this happen. Worship to you all.
Saw him a few times live as recently as this week and it is very inspiring to wait in line as an older fellow talking to parents with their kids who are aspiring drummers. II is fantastic.
ii is hands down one of the best out there right now. He never plays things the same way twice and his fills are exciting. Also, ghost notes for days. Love him.
Wow, you can hear III's bass so well in this recording too II is such a great drummer, all of them are very talented musicians* *Yes I know that it's V1 who writes and plays all/most of the guitar/bass parts in studio, doesn't change the fact that III and IV are amazing too
II makes me so happy to listen to. Im a singer, I don't know legit anything ab drums except the fact this just sounds amazing tbh. I cant help but watch anything posted with II's drumming
As a bassist, I was also so pleasantly surprised to hear this incredibly crispy bass tone and what he's playing! I have to admit I had never really paid attention to it until now
My favourite drummer at the moment, this band made me learn to play metal (on drums of course 🥁) , and watching II play and seeing him put his soul into drumming really inspires me!!! 🔥
II brought back the feel to this kind of metal. Before Sleep Token, every freaking band was sounding the exact same, with the drums either 100% quantized using the same drum samples as eveyone else, or even entirelly programmed.
seems like every time i think that's an awesome snare sound turns out it's a powerstroke 77 coated. went to my local music store last week and ordered one
Me too! It was my first time seeing and hearing the live in person and I was blown away by how clean their sound was. I keep saying no recording device (I've heard so far) can pick up just HOW good they all sound live. Even their background singers, Espera, sounded clear. It's like you could distinguish EVERYTHING happening on stage but they still blend together smoothly. The musicians and their team are talented as heck!
I'm curious if anyone knows what reso head he's using on the snare. I don't feel it has a crazy amount of snare wire sound so he either uses a low count snare wire and/or an Emperor Hazy snare side. @remopercussion ?
How does he get such a snappy, pure and round tone out of the snare, while simultaneously have it be so sensitive for ghost notes? Anybody know for shure?
Very high tensioned snare side for the articulation, the p77 already has a poppy tone add maybe a moongel, but most importantly crank it very high, higher than you might feel safe doing.

Jaws parts were my favorite with all the ghost notes on ride and hats

@@BrandonMelvinDrums Thank you for this!
@@BrandonMelvinDrums was a PaLovetone not too long ago. Did he swap to DW snare now? When he announced his touring kit he didn't mention snare.

Tuned within an inch of it's life, and I love it!
I just want to say II's ability to just make magic happen like this just feeds the soul
II is such a smooth drummer! I really enjoy listening to his beats everytime I put on anything by Sleep Token
He really is, and we do too!
Greatest sounding snare in the business hands down.

His halftime shuffle is greatly incredible.

His drumming just draws me so much more than others in the genre. It's has so much fluidity and push and pull. "be like water"
II’s snare sound is out of this world! We are not worthy of this offering 🔥
Love him.
The P77s are just out of this world, man. Second goes to the Controlled Sound.
II has that intricate hi-hat play that initially drew me to Stewart Copeland.
That snare sound is SOOOOOO MIGHTY!
That snare and ride cymbal 😍😍
Wow, you can hear III's bass so well in this recording too
II is such a great drummer, all of them are very talented musicians*
*Yes I know that it's V1 who writes and plays all/most of the guitar/bass parts in studio, doesn't change the fact that III and IV are amazing too
Of course! III and IV have matched the studio versions to a T, which isnt always easy to do when written by someone else.
that mix is so clean!!!!!!!!! geez...... that hit hats crispy asf

That ride n hat play was sick af
awesome drum parts, amazing, These drums sing, so the drums used make notes, damn it
This is a percussion masterpiece! Absolutely magnificent work of art. This man is brilliant. This video needs more views and comments.

Just started listening to them & I’m instantly trying to make my snare sound better after hearing II’s
This looks like Radio City. I was there, third row pit seats. Best $600 I ever spent.
It is!
Those TOMS ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Holy shit that snare and china combo he throws in just gives me chills
This is the first time I've heard III's bass tone. I'm a bassist/guitarist and never thought to seek it out because I keep seeking out II's videos 😅
Yeah his tone is so crispy and tasty. I never even noticed so much of this bassline in the studio track, it's sick to hear it now

That snare is lethal 👌

The snare is like its tuned low and high at the same time. Sounds so sick.
II has great feel and enjoy his parts to compliment the song. Very tasty drummer.
Couldn't agree more!
That snare, china, and bell ride sounds so good!
I can only describe one word of ii's drumming, Tasty!
Came back so many times for that popping snare 😂😂
Best sounding cymbals in the game right now... Istanbul's are taking the crown.
this guys feel is unmatched
II’s drums sounding tasty as always
The genius in making it all look so effortless. Great video ❤
I just ordered p4s and a p77 before knowing he uses them I’m super happy now
You are going to love them!
I love them on Luke hollands kit
Definitely the most underrated drummer out there.

He is painting on his drum instead of playing. His mask is terrifying, but his drumming is beautiful
Usually I love bass drum until I discovered II like 2-3 years ago, snare became my fav.
Simply phenomenal
What a mix!
Snare tone is unreal
Great drummer 🔥

One drummer who I can think of who’s on par or better is Mr. Blake Richardson of Between the Buried and me
@@ChildofbhaalGartzka absolutely obliterates both of them honestly but I love them both too

Something about II's technique is intriguing to me. I can't put my finger on but it's off the charts for me, anyway.
Super clean
Very!
Incredible drummer. This guy I would say is one of the best drummers I have ever seen in my life and I'm in my 50's. Is he even human? Lol
YES!
Snare has no business sounding that good
His drum tech must have so much fun
That guy can tune my snare anytime

The greatest drummer in the world is completely anonymous 😮
I've never seen them live, but from all the clips I've watched, I don't think I've ever seen him do any 'stick tricks'. II is All Business..
Fantastic 😍
So tasteful.
That snare tho.
That snare's crispier than my last air fryer chicken breast.

Is II Adam Janzi from Vola? Similar styles it seems.... either way, awesome drumming!
No, they are British! Well from England if you want to be more precise.
Nope
Does anybody now what snare he plays?
The toms sound fantastic but not a fan of that snare tuning. Is it a tribute to st anger?
I vote that snare to be called V in the band.
