    Great summary for a thorough clean - nice one!! The big trick on your own car is, as you cover: get 'em clean and keep 'em protected! Makes cleaning so much easier! Bilt Hamber Touch-less snow foam stage can really help as that pre-wash too. In winter I flip to doing wheels after the car's pre-wash as the car stays wet after its pre-wash rinse. You can see how powerful Touch-less is then too!

    Another fantastic insight Heather. You always get the bits in that others miss, which is why i think your channels is so brilliant. Some wheels have fussy designs and this will really help people with those. The quickest safest all in one that I use when tight on time and the customer is willing to pay an uptick is Stajrnagloss Hjul. You can hit the tyre and the wheel in one go and its really effective at both jobs. The downside is the cost, (its not a cheap product even in bulk) hence the price uptick. I combine this with Geyon Wetcoat to protect at an extra cost of £3:00 per wheel. For the standard wash I use Green Star on both wheel and tyre on a reasonably clean wheel or Bilt Hamber Autowheel if its more dirty. Both are very cost effective. (Green Star is just such a life saver.. definitely my go to all round product). Fully agree with your brush theory, a mitt is a must for me, particularly on anything with a gloss black finish which scratches up sooo easily. Even Silver wheels cleaned regularly with acid and a brush will quickly loose their shine.

    • @AutoCareHQ
      @AutoCareHQ  Рік тому +1

      Thanks very much Cole! Stjarnagloss Hjul is a great product, it shifted most of the grime without contact when I've used it. That's very true, I'd much rather use a mitt on as much of the wheel as I can!

    Thanks for another great video Heather. I've coated my alloy wheels with two coats of Gyeon Q2 Rim. I generally just wash the wheels with Gyeon Bathe using a wheel mitt and several times during a six month period use Gyeon wheel cleaner which has fallout remover. I change my wheels every 6 months to put summer/winter tyres on the car. I use Gyeon tyre cleaner and their tyre gel. This may be an expensive approach, but it seems to work for me. As a top up I spray Gyeon Wet Coat on the wheels to top up protection.

    • @AutoCareHQ

    Another good watch. Short & Sweet & packed with handy tips. Because I now predominately use Mitchell & King products, certainly on my own cars so I was watching this because there is usually a golden nugget in there. My method is fairly similar. I use Autobrite Citrus in my IK Sprayer as I bought 5L a while ago and it dilutes down to the point I think it might be still going when I am not. I rinse then use M&K Rim wheel cleaner with a shampoo for lubricity for any contact as I have run out of my GT wheel soap. John at M&K is formulating a wheel soap at my request. Exceptional service provided. I recently had my JCW Gyeon ceramic coated and bought £200 of Gyeon products and then sold the car 2 weeks later, when I spotted an i-Pace with all the extras I wanted in my budget. The Gyeon tyre cleaner is really good and obviously wet coat is in a class of its own. I now use that on all my customers cars but use M & K Armour for wheels and Wax+ which are both SiO2 products and they do a great job on the Jag. I like the look of the wheel woolie you used and I have an EZ but I don't use it on my Diamond cut 22" rims but the wheel nuts do need a small detailing brush. I had ordered the Gyeon wheel mitt with the thumb which is also excellent or I have a microfiber pad for the barrels. I like the look of that toilet brush style for my carpeted arches which are the bane of my life. Thanks again.

    • @AutoCareHQ
      @AutoCareHQ  Рік тому +1

      Thanks John! That sounds like a great process. I'd definitely recommend getting an EZ Go brush, it feels really well made and it's a life saver for cleaning the arches. I've also just picked up the Carscope wheel barrel brush which I'm looking forward to trying. It fits in quite a tight gap which is essential on my car but should still be nice and soft!

    • @johnbrown3951

      @@AutoCareHQ I had a look on Carscope website as I am a huge fan of their small circular brush which is perfect for applying GT serum to tyres and have my eye on their up market quick release spray heads but held off as I need to update my wax collection from M & K with their newly released waxes. There is a recession on!!!! Just a quick afterthought on acid wheel cleaner. I bought a Land Rover some time ago which had a yellow film on the barrels that no wheel cleaner I had would move and I told the guy from WoWo's my predicament and he suggested his wheel cleaner as it had the properties of an acid but was not acidic. It cleaned the barrels and left them like new. As my cars are now up to standard I don't have any left but if a customers car had an issue it would be my go to product.

    • @AutoCareHQ
      @AutoCareHQ  Рік тому +1

    Great video Heather! I find that pre-treating the wheel with an iron remover on a dry wheel works better to remove the biggest amount of brake dust before contact washing. I personally use turtle wax rapid iron decon for the wheels & green star 10:1 for the tires & arches. Then I scrub everything with green star 5:1 & a strip wash soap in the wheel bucket. You still got a good result so kudos to you Heather. But try that combo if I get the chance! It’s a winner combo! Definitely change out that trigger on that bottle for the breaking point though!🤣🤣

I use it myself almost every time before I actually start with touching the wheels, but the only reason I do this, is because I don't wash the car thát often. I only use car shampoo no other products to clean yet after years of use still never to this day have I gotten the wheels to look this dirty or seen stuck on break dust on it? so how come people get their car wheels to become this dirty

      This Audi just produces loads of brake dust and does a lot of miles so it builds up really quickly. It's fairly common that just a week after cleaning these wheels they look filthy again unfortunately!

    Garage therapy, one wheel shampoo, and bilt hamber auto wheels for me. I am struggling to find a tire dressing that I get on with

      Which tyre dressings have you tried/ what weren't you a fan of? I'll try and have a think if I know of any that might be more suitable

      @@AutoCareHQ I have just started using garage therapy one wheel shampoo with bilt hamber as my wheel arch and tyre cleaner now really happy with Garage therapy one wheel shampoo.
      I have been using Gtechniq T1 tyre gel but it’s just not lasting. Because of my job I need a clean car at all times to even other day I wash my wheel as it makes the car look cleaner then what it is.
      I am toying with the idea of trying Garage therapy tyre serum as that seems to have good reviews.

      @@anthonywhite721 I'd definitely give the GT Tyre Serum a try. After about 3-4 applications I noticed the durability really start to improve and the tyres still look pretty clean between washes
