This is really helpful but you might want to mention what iso mounting software you used because going through this process hyper v won't accept a downloaded windows ISO for installation.

Tons of site telling us how to setup. But none telling us the first steps and thats where we get the ISO from. Will someone explain the ISO and such.

@@OnlineComputerTips sorry if i misconstrued a little. My concern was other than windows 10 which is a dime a dozen. I need windows XP i have install disk but using the various methods like winCDEmu i can not get a viable XP edition . This is true for Win 7 . There is little explaining the importance or and creation of ISO . Maybe you can created something

Yes. Any VM you make will use the resources from the host PC which is the computer running Hyper-V.
