Thanks. There are 1000 ways this principle could be applied with your excellent user friendly method as a starting point. Your generous spirit is sensed through the ether. Stay well, unique and creative in good company.
I so enjoy your creative and instructive videos! The results are so pleasing. As another commenter said, thank you for omitting trendy or electronic music. I much prefer the organic sounds of paper tearing, etching with the stick and even the tape pull! These sounds evoke the same calm as the artwork you create.
Thanks for your positive comments, its always good to get some feedback on the videos. I do think about the sound more and have experimented with music. The less distracting I think the more information is absorbed.
You are living proof that men are PATIENT, POSITIVE, INSPIRING and MORE. It's great to see men being creative. This world is such a wonderful place to live in and a joy to watch your videos. many other people will choose this instead of drugs, alcohol, and other crimes and it's life changing. You are a teacher and a Healer. When you save 1 life it is as if you have saved the whole Human Race. Thankyou. Subscribed!.
Thanks very much for such a positive reaction to this demo, it is always good to know that they have provided inspiration for other artists and encouraged others to try the techniques.
Such a dynamic and beautiful little world you've created! The way you draw/paint/make marks feels very much like another language. A language without words.
Dan God Bless You Brother. This video is therapeutic. Motivating me to start something with a limited pallete. Memories from college. Your hands can work wonders. Peace n light from England UK.
Simple I know it would take nothing for me to do, I just got to do it . I've watched your work 10 times each etc.thank you for your time and effort to be instructive and share.
It is often some kind of block, something that stops people doing things that they actually want to do. Not saying this applies to you, but it does for quite a few.
I am new to you channel and I just love your work. I have started to use several of you ideas and am eagerly awaiting my oil stick in the mail. Years ago I had my six year old students tape off a rectangle on their desks, paint using tempura paint inside their rectangle and make a mono print. Wish I had taken pictures. They had a lot of fun.
Thank you so much! Good to hear that you enjoy the videos, hope you get some great results when you try them for yourself. Don't forget you can submit your work for the gallery on my website, take a look to see what others have been doing. dantirels.co.uk
I’ve now found my oil sticks yay...saved some plastic wrapping from Xmas ..yay.. I’m having fun yay Thanks Dan a lovely video.. Thank you for adding my birds to your gallery 👍
I love this... and have been experimenting because of you! Question, would general oil pastels work also? I know they truly never really dry, but I think a spray exists to 'set' the finished work. Any thoughts would be appreciated :)
I'm not sure about that, I will need to give them a try, I think the oil bars or sticks work because they are quite soft and the paint transfers well. The only reason I don't use the oil pastels is I find them a bit greasy and like you say they never dry out.
Thanks.

Just love your work.

I always look forward to your videos. You don’t disappoint. Thanks, Dan. (Would love to see more Charcoal work.) 😊
Thanks, I will be filming a new acrylic and charcoal sketch on paper later so that will be ready to watch soon, hope you enjoy it !
beautiful, and a joy to watch. I also love that you attract such good souls who appreciate your art and what you share.
Simple, cheap and effective - thats a hat trick, sir! My totally impulse-bought water-soluble oil sticks found a purpose, yay :)
Thanks very much for your feedback, glad to have inspired you.

Huge fan of your work. Thanks for your art!

That's just great! Thanks for sharing! Make great art for the cost of an oil stick! Love it!
Simply amazing technique ! Thanks for sharing !

Thank you... Great effects. Can't wait to try this out myself!
Brilliant - love watching you make art! More, more, more, pleeeeeese!

Another great piece, Dan!
Nice process and nice print. Thanks.
you got a special touch ! very nice tricks on your channel - thank you so much for all the inspiration ! :)
I love this! Thank you for sharing your art!
unintentional asmr, thanks for the technique Dan, wicked art.
Thanks very much, I try to make the demos as calm as possible, I find it helps with the process. Thanks for the feedback.
Great idea. Im going to try it but with my oil pastels which if it works will be a far less expensive option.
I need to get an oil stick! This looks like fun. THX
Another great inspiration! Thank you! (It always looks so easy when you do it! - I have a long way of practice ahead of me - but it’s fun!)
It's just practice, but remember I have plenty of failed attempts, I just don't film those.
thank you for answering my questions I didn't ask, I have been wondering about oil bars!! This is stellar!
Method of a madman
Super as always.
I just love it! Thank you!
Glad you like it!
Do the oil sticks ever set / dry on the print? Great video, thank you!
Yes they do, unlike oil pastels the oil sticks will dry out. I think its because they have wax in them, oil pastel remains soft.
Muito boa técnica. Parabéns! Se observar nesse seu desenho na vertical aparece um rosto. Ficou interessante.
What's the smudging device? Cool technique.
Knew the technique, but damn nice composition!
Hi Dan! Are you using a “blending oil stick” - not sure of the correct term - to smudge the black? Love your videos!
I use nothing but the oil stick, I blend the paint with a soft sponge or rag, the paint takes 2 - 6 days to fully dry out, Thanks for your feedback.
interesting as always, tnx
So nice

Interesting process - somehow it reminds me of playing a game of “hide and see” but it is a very fun way of printing-drawing-mark making.
love it
do you prefer the Senneliers over the R&F?
I have not tried R&F, but do find the Senneliers a little sticky.
I am curious as to the types of paper you use to monoprint onto.
I use a heavyweight smooth card or cartridge paper (200gsm) You can use thinner paper but spray with a white acrylic paint to form a base.
Dan Tirels thank you.
This much black pigment is probably I only need in my lifetime
Would oil pastels work as well do you think?
I'm not sure about that, I will have to give them a try.
@@DanTirels I tried them and they did not transfer very well...
Очень нравится! Спасибо!
большое спасибо
Was ist das für ein Stift? Der ist super zum taggen 😁
I'm using an oil stick and a felt tip pen.
@@DanTirels danke dir ✌
Where can I get one of those Oil bars?
You will find them on Ebay or use the Amazon link in the description below the video. Amazon only seem to sell the smaller 38mm sticks.
@@DanTirels Thank you
❤
Oil sticks and water don’t work.
I think a nice lean medium would be better.
Having said that, I really love what u do, many thanks for ur time.
I would NEVER recommend using water with any time of oil medium
I was dubious at first, but nice work.
Can you please turn on captions for your videos? Those who are deaf or hard of hearing would appreciate it.😊
There is no speaking in any of Dan's videos. His visual demonstration is all that is required.
