New to acrylic painting, (painting in general) and love this technique. I enjoy the unique types out of the ordinary. styles. This is great and looking forward to trying this.
Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it and hope you have fun when you give it a try. Linda
@LindaCelestian can you help me understand better the application of the white to create the broken glass effect. I got a lot of texture but don't see the effect. The first try I didn't wait for black to dry and ended up with just black texture. The next try I waited, added the white and covered wirh plastic wrap but again only have texture no broken glass effect. HELP!!!
@@cilenebosch3806 I hope I can help. Wait for the black to fully dry. The white should be mixed with something to water it down but not so watery that it will dry transparently. You want it to be slightly transparent but still white to get the effect. Does that make sense? It's hard to tell when the paint is wet, whether it will dry transparent or not. If that is what is happening then add more white paint to your mixture. I use the same technique in this video ua-cam.com/video/-EEaB5H9HDs/v-deo.html and this video ua-cam.com/video/GHvOCQx28P8/v-deo.html
They all turned out beautiful 👏
Thanks. Thanks for watching!

Wow. I'm hooked!!! Thank you for making this easy, fun, informative, creative art.. just starting as a hobby and came across this.
That's great. I'm glad you liked it. Have fun and thanks for watching!
I’ve made these. The HARD part is letting them dry overnight. I like to peek at them now and then by gently lifting up a teeeeeeeny piece of the Saran Wrap. It’s pretty cool to add splashes of Coarse Kosher Salt onto the very wet paint before you apply the Saran Wrap, too. The final product has 2 effects. New subscriber!
I've used salt in wet watercolor but I've never combined it with this technique. I'll have to try that. Thanks for watching! Have a great day!
YOU ARE A GOOD TEACHER. WONDERFUL JOB. THANK YOU FOR SHARING

Thank you so much, Margarita.
Thank you so much for adding this video. I am a newbie to most art and am working on a Halloween costume for my son, which needs to look like it’s made of ice. So I will be trying this technique. Thanks for making one step a little easier.
You're welcome. Just FYI I tried this on fabric with fabric dye but it didn't work. The surface needs to be impervious so that the paint puddles. You could try it on primed canvas, or primed cardboard. Good luck!
@@LindaCelestian
Hi Linda, how do you prime a canvas? Do you use the primer that your use to paint a room?
@@emilythoreson11 Hi Emily, I use acrylic gesso which is formulated to seal canvas for acrylic painting. The first layer should be slightly watery to sink into the fibers of the fabric or canvas. Consecutive layers can be thicker. If you want a smooth surface you can sand the gessoed surface. A primer from a paint store might be okay as long as it's latex, not oil.
Wow so creative
Thank you! 😊 Thanks for watching and commenting!!

Wonderful!
dear linda, I'm glad to have met your yt channel. There are really a lot of wonderful works and techniques. I have one suggestion, and that is to always write a list of materials used in that video below the video. type of paper, colors. media ... I see here in the comments a lot of them ask and which medium is put. it is written more clearly and clearly for us beginners to whom you give all these works. thank you very much.
This is a great suggestion and I'm going to do it. Thank you so much! Have a great day! Linda

I am going to try this on an old vase that I painted black.
I'd recommend using spray paint for 3 dimensional objects because it stays put. This video shows the technique with spray paint at 10:41. ua-cam.com/video/BaAMpEfC4iY/v-deo.htmlsi=eN9-MLQyVPaEKlNS Thanks for watching.
