Love your videos I have a tip for onions that make us cry, peel your onions cut off top part and leave the bottom root part now you can dice the onions with the roots intact, the onions will not make you cry. I cut the onions in half right in the middle of the roots then dice them and so far no tears.
This was so much fun Chelsea! I felt like I was right there with you in the kitchen cooking and sitting in the car driving around delivering “baby meals.” This has inspired me to fix dal and include it in meal planning. I’m coming up on my one-year anniversary of eating whole food plant based foods based on the Starch Solution. My progress has stalled because of my misunderstanding how much bread I could eat during the weight loss phase (breads and flour are highly processed and are about 1400 calories per pound). So, hopefully I can start losing weight again. I appreciate the simplicity of your meal preparation, especially how you put together that bowl for lunch. You basically put several vegetables in a bowl, added starch, and a few condiments. Simple! Thanks for these videos Chelsea, your helping change the lives of people all over the world.🕊
You are so thoughtful & sweet bringing meals to your friends. I have been loving lentils lately and recently learned that soaking them for +8 hours neutralizes the phytic acid, adds vitamins and eases digestion. Cilantro is also a good addition and binds to toxic heavy metals. Be well!
What a kind friend you are cooking up a meal for those new mums. Bet you were really popular ! Lush looking dal, must give it a whirl. Brill video as usual , thanks
you nailed it once again, so good to see real people ! what I want to know is how the heck are you drinking cold coffee and no jumper, its friggin freezin in Tasmania
This was one of your best videos ! That smoothie really gave you some dancing energy! I'm recovering in a back brace from an emergency 4th back surgery, I've been on crutches (permanent) for 9 years, so I love to watch dancing! Your hubby was so cute appearing as The Hunchback, and your girls are so adorable! Oh, and if you hold the onion under cold running water for 15 seconds or so, your eyes won't tear up when you chop it! I love your videos!
You and your family are so sweet and thoughtful!!! Loved watching you interact and learning how to cook new healthy food : ) Those cookies look delightful... unfortunately, I can't bring myself to joining another social media group. Thanks for sharing!
Great recipe! Can't wait to try it :D love the fact you're in this part of the world so all the products you're using are available here in Adelaide. Just a side note - Vegeta (the stock powder company) make a low sodium version. So good because it has no oil, less salt, and no MSG ;)
I roll few days ago about your channel and I am so happy about that. I want knowing more about your diet and the good foooooood. Love food so much. Haha. 🌱
Here is my best hack for onions!!! Quarter them and put them in your Vitamix. Fill the jug with water and blend on 4-5 speed until chopped. Pour through a strainer. Now you have chopped onions with no tears. This works for all kinds of other vegetables, too. :) You're welcome.
I made your lentil dahl that you had made for groups of people and I ended up eating it all week for dinner and for breakfast one day. I lost 4 pounds that week and I just made it again because it was so good. Looking for about 3 more recipes like that so I can batch cook and load my freezer with meals.
Hey Chelsea, have you ever considered putting oats in your smoothies? I'm incredibly partial to my morning peanut butter + banana + coffee smoothies for breakfast since going plant-based and find adding it helps keep me full for longer while adding some extra fibre and protein! At the start of the week I put a mixture of chia and oats in a jar soaking in almond milk and throughout the week, I add a few tablespoons to my morning smoothie before blending. Having them pre-soaked massively minimises the grainy texture which some may enjoy but I don't.
wow check Tia out, the HUNGRY VEGAN MAMA (I love your channel!) pretending shes just a normal Chelsea fan like us! How lucky are we? with all these gorgeous vegan women inspiring and assisting us!! yayyyy!!
I love your enthusiasm about the food. I go blind when chopping onions and always after work with eye makeup on😂 I love red lentil dal. I’m hoping you’ve got some eggplant recipes other than my regular Parmesan or mullenjon. I’ll check out your Instagram for inspiration. I’m not vegan (yet), but my oldest daughter and I are trying harder. Thanks for being weird like us and keeping food healthy.
Hi I've always controlled my weight (when I was younger)but as I have gotten older it's very very difficult. I don't burn as much, always working so I'm tired so I'm not a lover of spending time in the kitchen. I've gain 20lbs (from last year not doing anything in gym) and eating badly so I'm home on vacation and I'm gonna reconstruct my whole way of eating and that's where you come in (just came up on your channel) because I'm looking for ideas recipes with less time to prepare. Thank you
Another excellent what Chelsea Mae ate in a day and that dhal will be amazing (anything with lentils are among my favourite recipes). Keep safe and well and enjoy the rest of week. Love 💕💕💕 you and your family.
Foods look good. 😘How nice that you cooked a meal for a new mama! 😍 But i would definitely put your hair up and back when cooking especially for others.
That sushi bowl looked amazing. I've been eating so monotonously. I think I need that kind of variety in my life. Its so much faster to steam broccoli in the microwave and grab some precooked sweet potatoes for every meal. 🙄 how long did it take you to put it together?
I just made the soup and didn’t have the recipe but it’s honestly pretty easy to cook just based on watching her video. If you want I can tell you what I did to make mine.
My mom would kick my butt if she saw me dancing around in the kitchen with my long hair!! She's always worried someone will find hair in the food she makes and even wears a hairnet when cooking for holidays!! lol. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and recipes with us.
Hi, I love your videos! I just found out about the 50/50 plate and this way of eating. I am trying to do it with my husband but sometimes he gets discouraged. I know this might vary from person to person, but I was wondering how long does it take to start seeing some results?
Depends on what your calorie deficit is! Likely 6-8 weeks to notice, if there is a deficit. Good job on the 50/50! I've been doing mostly this too, keeping it interesting by trying tons of different veggies. My fav is airfried/roasted broccoli with tons of garlic, some chilli, pepper, nutritional yeast, and balsamic vinegar. Homemade soups are awesome for 50/50! Also, believe it or not, pasta! I be sure to weigh my pasta, and when making the sauce I add a ton of veg. 50% sauce, 50% pasta! There's also keto noodles you may be able to find on amazon. They're good after a good soak and boiled for a few min.
Was going to say the same thing - ditch he aluminium pot Chelsea and buy a stainless steel pot. Take it to the metal recycling section at the tip not the opp shop. Great Dahl! X
How in the world do you eat 2 bananas in one sitting!? I'm trying to follow what you're doing but I'm really struggling with the amount of food and chewing lol. I can barely finish one banana even when I'm hungry

It's a good idea to rinse the dry lentils well with water before cooking them 😊
You have a very sweet family. Also, you’re so kind to others. How refreshing!
So much joy in your home, I love it!

Your meals looked 😋 going to make Dahl maybe later today. Love your videos as you so down to earth. Love the gym hack too 😃
Tip: blend some raw oats into smoothie...basically like adding oat milk!
Trouble is that you miss eating the oats. I don't like drinking my food, but it's an option to get something in that you might not get.
I recommend adding RICE VINEGAR to your sushi bowls!! So friking good adds an amazing flavor imo
I agree completely!
Yes please, cookie recipe! Thank you!!!
How do you make your pickled ginger? Yes to recipe video for the cookies or just healthy treats !!
I made the Dhal recipe yesterday evening. So easy and yummy!! Will be a staple from now on in our house.

Tip for Cutting onion - I always put the onion in water for some time before I cut time. It works :)
I'm going to use that dressing gown hack!

Put a wet wash cloth next to your cutting board, onions go towards water, that’s why it effects your eyes . 🥰
I am so stealing that robe idea 😂 not going to lie, i use the blanket i keep in the car for my kiddo - emergency blanket - all the time!
Love your family❤️
