SO nice to see someone work out and NOT have protein powder/smoothie afterward!! I am a WFPB athlete (7 days/wk) NOT trying to lose weight, but I and never saw the need to use protein powder. Beans, tofu, hemp seeds, etc. provide PLENTY of post-workout muscle fuel.

    • @consciousobserver629
      @consciousobserver629 3 роки тому +3

Yah I'm over the whole protein powder hype! Just seems weird to me.. according to urine samples when I was pregnant with my second baby, I was getting more protein than the average eater. All WFPB. I love eating the good stuff!!

It can really amp up the hunger and make us think we can get away with eating more calories than we actually burned off. Going high volume + low cal density and fueling up before or after workouts with whole starches and non-starchy veg is so satisfying!

Hi mate, i am only a wee way into your vid & must comment .....i bloody love that lil sneaky hand creeping up to grab whatever youve just diced. she got a little shock with that leek! quickly returned it to you! lol
girl i love her boot-stick too! if it left a mark or footprint up there, i'd say Thats the kids driving me up the wall! hehe
god youre so real and down to earth!
and i just gotta say..u lucky ducky...i love that long gorgeous wild hair!
    Also LOVE how you:
    have a regularly dirty floor,
have a bit of a messy house,
how you try to shake the shit into the quickpot one handed,
how you still use the potato even tho that kind dont look pretty & perfectly white,
(AND especially...how your kids dont care, they still grab bites of it! FANTASTIC!)
(ive been there hun and my motto was always .....if your house or your day is full of little kids & you DONT have a crazy messy room, plus paint or food or something in your hair or spilt on your shirt, and if youre NOT exhausted by the end of the day, then youre doing it wrong!)

Chelsea your an inspiration and I love that your keeping things simple and not over complicated. I am wanting to start my journey also and need to lose about 20kgs. I am addicted to sugar and coffee, I love coffee. Did you have any struggles with any particular food group that had you fall off the wagon and how did you cope with it ? Mentally I struggle because sometimes if I fall of the wagon then I think ... oh well... I will just start a fresh tomorrow because today is ruined. This cycle has been my constant struggle. Also I live in a small town and we don’t have any options much for anything plant-based so sometimes when I am out catching up with a friend I will have things like a soy latte but often the drawer of those yummy muffins seem to get me because they’re about the only thing that I can have as sometimes I have some vegan muffin even though I don’t think they’re overly healthy. How do you deal with going out for a catch up when your options are limited in the food department? This is a real struggle and often is my fall of the wagon day to be honest.

can you make us a week meal plan? i'm very new to veganisim, I used to be on a keto diet, i'm quite thin, I weigh 40-41 kg and i'm 157 cm, last time I checked my fat percentage was 19%, the thing is I am okey with how my body looks and my diet was fine, but I kinda wanna look slimmer, so I thought I should try being Vegan, I wanna see how the decrease in protein would effect the way my body looks, if whether it would make me gain fat or lose muscle.
I gotta say that i'm only on my second day and i'm already struggling, the idea of eating rice and starchy vegetables is terrifying to me, i'm trying so hard to stay calm and break through my fear of food slowly, since on my previouse diet fruits like apples and bananas and carbs especially starchy ones were cut out of my diet, for example, today I had only 1/2 of a sweet potato for breakfast with salad and some broccoli, and later i'm having cauliflower rice with white beans (i was supposed to have wild brown rice instead of cauliflower rice but i'm too scared of starches still). i'm fearful of rice, i don't remember the last time i had rice in my diet...
my problem areas to me are my legs and thighs, to me they are not skinny, they are a bit muscly even though i don't exercise, and before going into keto i used to be fat, after going on keto i lost 15 kg.
a high fat low carb moderate protien diet helped me lose weight and look better than ever, (so here's my main question; i don't quite understand how sweet potatoes and brown rice and other starchy foods, will not be stored as fat in my body due to an increase in insulin, i heard that when insulin goes up, fat stores stop burning or something of that sort?)
help me put my brain at rest please.
PS: English is not my native language so excuse me if I didn't sound comprehensive/ coherent, a new follower from saudi arabia

Hello there :) i was in a similar situation and i decided that if my husband wants to eat meat, he can prepare it for himself. Turned out plant based is better than it seemed at first to him :D

@@sandranaumann2073 - HA HA, love it! I only wish. If I told him I wouldn't cook it, he'd just go to the restaurant and let me eat by myself. That's how adamant he is about not even just trying it. He's a bullhead. Thanks.

I have a question, I hope its not too personal.. I was just googling "permanent body changes after pregnancy" and really freaked out! Since you've had children I'm wondering if you could share.. I can see you got your body back in terms of weight which is great, however, has your body changed? Is it really as scary as it sounds? One of the things that scared me the most was that not only the hips can get wider but also the waistline (regardless of excess weight) and my waist is my favorite part of my body, i would hate that so much.. maybe other people here can share as well.. thanks!

It just depends on how you take care of yourself during pregnancy and after and your genetics. Some things you just can't help...your chest gets bigger for nursing, and your hips do get a little wider...but you get the opportunity to pass a human through them!!! They have to get wider! Its just a new chapter in your life after kids: some good things, some bad things, and just different things. But they are WORTH IT!

every woman is different and every pregnancy is different so it's hard to predict, though how pregnancies went for women in your family could give you a hint. going back to pre-pregnancy weight is really a small part of it, what changes mostly is that you have very little time to take care of yourself. for me for example I am dealing with back/neck pain because of breastfeeding and how babies sat on my pelvis that tilted it so I need to do specific exercises and PT but don't always have time lol. I have a baby and a toddler now, I did PT after my first and everything went back to normal so I think eventually I'll fix this one too. I would say the most important thing is to find a good provider that you really feel comfortable with and it won't be scary. pregnancy is a huge change--physical, mental, emotional--but it can also be beautiful. the births of my two kids were the best moments in my life and I would definitely wish that to anyone who wanted kids.

I had four daughters and my body did change. Wider hips but now I'm losing weight I'm noticing I have more of a hourglass shape instead being a straight plank shape. And my boobs aren't as small and perky anynore. Nothing a good bra can fix 😉 I'm pretty proud of my body. It has carried four kids who are healthy and thriving. I appreciate it even more now I got diagnosed with PCOS and it's not even possible to have babies anymore without medical help. I didn't know my body would change like that and I would lie if I didn't tell you I was shocked by it because every woman I knew just bounced back like that. But I really started to love my new shape over time.

I know it may not seem like it Chelsea, but when you make comments about what you “can’t” eat around your daughters they listen. This in time, could lead to disordered feelings around food for them in the future. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend and god bless your family.

Serious question, why would you go to a gym to work out if you don’t enjoy it? That is surely self abuse? Why would anyone do that to themselves when there are literally so many other ways to keep fit? This is such a terrible message, you might as well say eat then throw up to keep your weight down because you might not like it, but if you stick to it you’ll get the results 🤷🏽‍♀️ it’s just a bit confusing when I thought this channel was about good health - maybe that’s my mistake, I should have realised it’s just another get fit stay slim at any cost video :(

p.s. I am autistic and generally see/experience the world in a different way to most people so maybe this is normal for most people 🤷🏽‍♀️ I enjoy these videos so I’m just going to assume that it’s normal and not damaging for most people

It’s pretty normal to do things that are good for you that you don’t enjoy.
I don’t mind it when I’m there, I don’t hate it but I’d much rather stay in bed.
Just like I’d much rather eat junk food, never work, never clean up my house and neglect my responsibilities.
Part of being a mature adult is doing worthwhile activities even if you don’t love them in the moment. 😊

@@ChelseaMae ahhh, that makes perfect sense, thank you 🙏🏽 autistic people don’t mature in the same way as neurotypical people do and because I have PDA (pathological demand avoidance) as well, it’s perfectly normal for me to not have or to not live up to responsibility’s and as an autistic person I think everyone thinks like me which is why I ask so many questions but you answered that so thoroughly, thank you, again, although it makes me feel like a useless human being 😭😭😭 I wish I could be normal and not autistic but thank you, people like yourself who take the time to answer my questions really help otherwise I’m just a frustrated mess trying to work things out in my own rigid mind 🙏🏽 I’ve just seen you doing pull ups in another video 😍 ~ one of my life goals ~ so the gym is definitely paying off as I think it is good to have a strong body 💪🏽

I also do all those things you said such as staying in bed, never cleaning my house, neglecting responsibilities but I’m not keen on junk food as it makes me feel like shit but I am working hard on trying to get out of bed and clean my house and what you said has made me think I’m going to try harder as I actually do enjoy exercise and feel happier when I do it 👍🏽 thanks for the help
