As a 23 year old that's been a fan since 13 in 2013, this is MY lillywhite sessions lmao
Dope, but check out the real Lillywhite sessions. :) Taking nothing away from this, there's some good stuff here.. but they're a bit different.
Valid statement from your son right there.
Guessing he has listened. But now, if you want to really make this your lillywhite, dial down your internet speed to about 10mbps, and then download. And you then you have to stare at the screen the entire time it is downloading in overwhelming anticipation of being able to listen to it in t-minus 6 hours.
Psh im fairly sure I downloaded mine at 56kbps 😂 were talkin days
"Break for it" is fire.
The time they did it live at Alpine in 2010 was so amazing
I may enjoy this little project as much as the Lillywhite sessions. Some really amazing stuff captured here.
So much from these sessions that should be on an album someday.
It's so interesting how they choose songs for albums. I always wondered how Tripping Billies was not on UTTAD. Break For It not being on a record since 2006 is beyond bonkers. However, DMB knows that studio albums are not always necessary...and that live tunes evolve with us as spectators of the band's craft. I suppose I'm just always curious what a dmb song sounds like as a studio recording.
These sessions aren’t even close to The Lillywhite Sessions.
Never knew about these! Thanks for uploading. You've exposed me to so many underground DMB tunes.
The Break Free that is on Walk Around the Moon is a better version than here imo. But this is still a great treat.
But just to hear the bones of it, and what it became is awesome. I’d wanted that one on an album for a long time.
Wow, what a rare gem! TY Brian
Glorious. Absolutely glorious find. Thank you for sharing this.
Absolutely love Kill the King, never heard this til now but love the song!
makes me wonder how many tracks like this that we've never heard
2-4
Why didn't they publish this? It's great. So was the released Stand Up album but... great tracks on here.
Im diggin' the songs Bullets And Rum, Drive Me Away, and Ask. Would love to see them on future albums. Stand Up could have been such a better album with 5 or 6 of these songs on it. Break For It, Kill The King, Situation, Break Free, etc.
So many great ideas, some DMB tunes we know and many questions…What‘s the story behind „Scream Into the Grave“? It says Outro, what‘s the rest of the song? 🧐
Whoa what. How did I not know this existed???
Man I wish they would put Shotgun on their next record. One of my all time favorite DMB songs.
not on there, sorry.
Considering Breakfree is finally getting a studio version I would not give up hope that this popular favorite unreleased gem will someday get its due. When I saw Breakfree on this coming album I was wondering if it had any bit of LeRoi on it. I don't think it does. Thought it was neat that the last album had a snippet of him on it. Anyway glad music still coming from these guys.
@@jhawk3511 yeah, afraid contracts might be the end all as far as ever hearing Leroi on a retail for profit release... but then again, DMB has done the wise thing Prince fought and wrote slave on his face for - Ownership of Masters!
Early Home & Drive Me Away so good
UA-cam interrupting music with commercials is awful
Wow this is amazing! I’ve been listening to this all day. Some
Of these are incredible!
I think it is all incredible. I find it fascinating how so many incredible songs are passed over to go on albums.
Very raw no horns on any tracks
#27 is one of my favorite songs by them, I think there's another studio recording of it floating around somewhere 🔥🔥🔥
It's on the Little Bird EP that you would get in the super deluxe version of Big Whiskey. A studio version of Cornbread was also attached to Big Whiskey if you hunt down a European version of the album.
I have it. FLAC, TOO! I don't know if you're looking for it, but someone with musical taste good enough to enjoy that song - I'd not have problems giving some access to my NAS with the DMB HOLY GRAIL - 2TB.
It's a little sloppy, the directories in the NAS, that is... Mostly assembled via remote desktop
Gas into Fire!!! JFC Ive been waiting for this for years!
Yeah Brian can't thank you enough. These would compete for my fav DMB album if they got released...
God! This is amazing!😊❤
Phenomenal! Thank you so much
Whoa-amazing!! Thanks LoVE
Much appreciated 👍.
so i only recently discovered the lillywhite sessions...now THIS?! mind blown
GREAT SETLIST/ compilation!
Thank you UA-camr and thanks UA-cam for finally sharing this thru your algorithms. Better late than never!
About time sounds great Ty Brian
Hell yes
I NEVER KNEW ABOUT THIS!!! Thanks bud!! This is awesome !!!!! This album
REALLY HAD TO GROW ON ME.. got robbed at the concert when I zonked out on the grass at the gorge amphitheater.. .. to much Sun / umm.. and the devils juice lol.. anyways I digress .. they took my credit cards, left me with my new album , 20 bucks .. and my new shirt .. spent the whole show calling to cancel my card .. in that time .. they charged 635 bucks with the debit portion .. ..took me a long to to even listen to this album after .. except American baby.. my all time fav Dave song for some reason .. pumps me up .. now I love the album Front to back .. what’s the story on the Batson sessions ? How did they come to be
It's really interesting to listen to this and the Lillywhite Session. Hearing the different ends of the spectrum, it really speaks to the talent of the band!
Lillywhite sessions should have been released as is and not transformed into busted stuff. Remember Lillywhute was a melancholy dave..dave was drinking a bunch during that time. I remember being in my 20s when lillywhite was passed around via burned cd's. Only the true fans had it and it was so special.
@@gjukic true fans? Please. Everyone I knew had them.
@@JM-ff7cj sure buddy
And speaks to how much producers influence recording sessions!
I'm not SURE, but, I got the Feeling Boyd Tinsley really blew a lot of the session work - well, not a feeling > Dave told us so!
@@gjukichaha.
Have to also second or however many have said it... thanks Brian for posting this. Not sure how this came to light but happy to hear it. Some cool songs on here I hadn't heard before. Maybe some of these will be polished and put on a new album in the future as several already have.
There’s something so strangely good about this version of Cornbread that makes me keep listening to it.
Cornbread was recorded during the big whiskey sessions. I’m really not sure wtf you’re talking about. Unless this is a troll then I love it. Lol. Lmk.
I wish they made Celebrate into a real tune or at least play that shit live nice and funky that could work live
interesting how many of these were then used on future albums
This is amazing! Easily makes up for the didappointing new album
Blackjack is sick
There's an awesome live version on Live Trax 28

Haha as you can see I’m serious. Lol.
Weird seeing Come On, Come On on here, as it was just released in 2018 haha
sweet
B Watson...Batson🙃😎✌️💚✨
Wish I could buy this
ABC sounds like it could have turned into Again and Again. At least some parts.
Wow, thank you! I found your Google Drive remasters also and really appreciate the time you put into this. Looking forward to The Gorge 2023! :)
Is there a place to download this?
I don't understand why only one song was copyrighted struck?
All these great songs and we end up with the shit storm tracks on Stand Up.
#27 banjo - anyone know who it was ? Bela ?
You got the other 2 sessions from 2006? There was three cds and this is one of them.
Correction I just saw this was a compilation of the first two, did you ever find the third? I’ve been looking since these came out. I think butch still has it TBH.
@@stoopidalmanac The third disc has never leaked
@@DannyYankouthought so… still waiting. Maybe butch will give it up sooner or later lol.
Bring back Boyd
It's over man..most people don't want him back
@@adamazzalino5247 but he's just sitting on his couch and hasn't touched the violin in months
Ask sounds like If Only.
Carter clearly not playing drums on these 😂
Why are spme of some of these copyrighted? A few others have offixial versions.
Shame cant atop os copyrighted. Studio version butchers the raw version
Why don't y'all just add this to your UA-cam queue? I just did.
All of this is better than Stand Up. I wouldn't mind them doing a stripped down show/album that's not just Dave & Tim. If they already did, I missed it (relax, I surrendered my secret decoder ring).
I am still mourning LeRoi. IMHO, they have never been the same. Dave is the head & Leroi was the heart. You can disagree if you like but I notice they had to hire 3 guys to attempt to occupy his seat.
Not a fan of Baston's style and mixes, but these are fun to hear.
Contradicting.
@@stoopidalmanac what?
Dave lost me years ago. I grew up on him, by far my favorite musician. Have been to 25 shows. His creativity fell off a cliff. I guess after 15 years of awesome writing, you run out of all your good ideas. It was a heck of run, Dave.
Hahah this guy.
@@stoopidalmanac well, I’m not wrong. He got horrible.
@@davidikardsure, your opinion matters.
@@stoopidalmanac my opinion is simply a microcosm of his fans on the whole. Why you think DMB record sales have plummeted since early 2000s??
@@davidikardit’s also funny that you think 25 shows is something to brag about. Better step those numbers up boy. Also to answer your question… nothing will ever top BTCS and Lillywhite Sessions, not sure why your fan base gets pissed off when something doesn’t go their way.
Better than most of their albums lol
Which ones?
No.
No not really
Stand up and parts of Come Tomorrow….definitely
@@JM-ff7cj agreed
mostly coal but a few diamonds in the rough on this one not album worthy at all their latest is amazing though Come Tomorrow is like 9 songs about sex and 2 about a Hopeful Future what a great album to make love to Come on Come on all this time ago i did not know it was from 2008 not 2018 when I heard it for the first time at Blossom w my sister and She and Joy Begin and Do You Remember I love the backdrop on that album and song it is so cute and childlike at play like #41 just dancing as a kid again Daves kids are helping him make great songs and albums and the sex songs are why he has the children to begin w OH JOY Mother screams and pushes you out oh pain and joy begin lol
Haha
This is good but nowhere near as good as lillywhite sessions
I’m with this guy 100%
Worst album they ever put out
This was an internet leak. The band never wanted it out there.
Yeesh... big whiskey is such a better album it's not even funny
Anything post Roi y’all are just gonna cry about anyways.
