I can remember David saying in an interview that the concept was that the slightly muffled intro was supposed to be coming over a cheap radio in someone's bedroom, where they would be listening all alone, and then the crisp, clean notes of the second guitar were being played by the listener joining in. Genius!
Yeah. I first heard this in 1975 or so, when it came out. I was 23 and used to listening to songs on AM radio, so I was used to that sound. The transition from that sound to the really crisp sound of the guitar was stark, at the time. Really got your attention.
The song before on the album basically gets sucked into the radio. The guy starts changing channels until he finds something good. He decides to play along. If you listen carefully you can hear him take a deep breath before joining in.
Thank you Rebeka for playing this live version, been listening to Pink Floyd all my life and never saw them live. It was so cool to see him mix vocals W/ Guitar! Love your channel and love your reactions too! Love you, awesome beautiful...
We that were teens and young adults during this greatest music ever, invasion, are blessed. The music, the talent, the skill, the music, all was great.
Rebeka, thank you for not interrupting the music with comments as most do. Watching your facial expressions on listening to Pink Floyd brings a smile to my face, it’s nice to see the younger generation appreciate Great music .
i started my journey with floyd when i was 17 ,i am now 63 ,this band have brought me to tears many times .They cause emotions that just stays with you,the music is like no other and they are always perfect and enjoying interactions with each other while playing .Thank you Rebeka for your thoughts 😃
The absolute genius of Pink Floyd is that every bit of sound had purpose, even the silences were perfectly placed, no filler or space takers. Every sonic vibration was crafted and then polished. Second greatest band of all time.
The whole album is a masterpiece with all four at their very best. It is my favourite PF album, and it’s taken me 40 years to work out why - it’s got more Richard Wright at the front, and the interplay with David Gilmour is stunning, just as it was with Echoes. Love it and good for you, as always ❤️
Well, you saw a version of Pink Floyd. It's one thing for Barrett not to be in the band, it's a very different one for the main driving force behind the band's lyrics, album concepts, and so much of the sound & arrangements to not be in the band. No Waters then no Pink Floyd for me. I know the guy's a major PITA, but he's Pink Floyd as much as any of them for me, if not more.
Pulse is the live recording of the Division Bell tour 1994. Clemson South Carolina Death Valley Stadium at Clemson University is the venue I saw them at, first concert Id seen with full surround sound
From the same concert, you're gonna love "Coming back to life", " Us and them", "The great gig in the sky", and out there in YT there's the rehearsal for "Lost for words" during the tour.
@@RogerM9 I've seen the Australian Pink Floyd Show about three times now but not Brit Floyd. I do know though that Dave Gilmour has given the thumbs up to the Australian Pink Floyd Show. I highly recommend them and hopefully one day I'll get the chance to see Brit Floyd.

I love that song, it's one of my favourites if I start to miss someone so much. You can listen to it and think back to so many things that happened. It's so special in the simple way they performing it, a classic doesn't need much to be great. Thanks 👍👍👍
Fantastic reaction from this timeless band Rebeka. It is a very moving song from the 'Wish You Were Here" album released in 1975. It was the follow-up album to 'The Dark Side Of The Moon'. I attended my first Pink Floyd concert in 1977 when I was 17. Very happy that you like it.
Positive and lovely reaction. You`ll be amazed this tune: Shine on yout Crazy Diamonds, from the same album, "Wish you were Here", but in this same concert, I guess it is Pulse, performed in 1994. It`s a travel. Thanks for love this iconic Rock band.
I was at this show...it doesn't come across on video just how loud the crowd were singing along..shame as it was truly magical and my fondest memory of the whole show.
I've seen several bands over the years, but when I went to Pink Floyd it was something special. Hours of big smiles, tears and at times struggling to breath. It sounds so silly, but it truly is amazing.
Every time i listen to this it makes me cry with joy it's musical perfection these guys are on the top of the tree as far as I am concerned I've been listening to pink Floyd s ince the band was formed I'm 72 and I can't get enough of their amazing musical talents fantastic band
This song was always on my play list no matter what group I was in. I LOVE PF .. Dark Side Of the Moon .. I love every song, the greatest album ever made. You said their music takes you away & your alone with your thoughts, I think PF does that to everyone, or they don’t have a soul. Great reaction as usual.
I’ve seen Pink Floyd 3 times The Wall in 1980 and 2 of the shows from this tour!!! They were beyond amazing every time and the Lasers projected way up and out beyond the stadium!!! Crazy!!!👌🎼👍🎶🤘🎵👍✌️😎

I was lucky enough to see PF 6 times at various times in their history, Each show left me with a feeling of peace and calm. it is too bad you are too young to have seen them together. you would have come away with the same feelings.
seen them (Pink Floyd- Roger Walters - David Gilmour) in all these forms since I was a kid - Such a great show - reminds me of the days sitting around with friend & GF with this tune cranked up and just chillin in the park (Philly Pa.) They are timeless
My very first Pink Floyd concert was the Dark Side of the Moon tour. Only saw them twice in my life and regret not seeing them again with the laser light shows.
Great sincere and thoughtful reaction Rebeka. For more that you will love, "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", "On The Turning Away" (a positive response to poverty and the neglect of human rights) and "Run Like Hell".
This whole concert will mesmerize you, Would you react to (Shine On You Crazy Diamond) it's a song about an original band member Syd Barret that developed mental issues so bad the band had to let him go but were heart broke over their decision. So they wrote songs about him. Many people think this song is about Syd. I And you added beauty to your reaction!!
Look up the story behind this song. A band member went over the deep end on a bad type of drug and pretty much lost it to the point where he was no longer performing. It was sad and this song was their way of saying they missed him.
Wish You Were Here, like the record that precedes it, is a concept album. Revolving around the central theme of absence, Waters’ lyrics illustrate the difference between the group’s early years - when Pink Floyd was a band of brothers, making music for a small but devoted audience - and the present. The guys had become multi-millionaires in the wake of Dark Side’s success, but they’d also become cash cows for a corporate label, and the camaraderie that once existed between them had grown strained. Tying the song cycle together are two compositions about Syd Barrett: the nine-part opus “Shine On You Crazy Diamond,” and the short, haunting title track.
after ,there is Shine on you crazy diamond . That is a must from this album. It came out in 1974, but the pulse consert in 94, is the the "best" version
And just like that, a new Pink Floyd fan is born. I love seeing the younger generation discover Floyd, its a journey that lasts a lifetime.
I can remember David saying in an interview that the concept was that the slightly muffled intro was supposed to be coming over a cheap radio in someone's bedroom, where they would be listening all alone, and then the crisp, clean notes of the second guitar were being played by the listener joining in.
