Very very weird yet possible theory I have. Olivia Mann is the Administrator. Mainly because at the end of the second to last comic we see a girl that looks a lot like Olivia when Helen looks at the last vile of Australium. Just a theory.
Honestly, I feel we don’t really talk about the first nine mercenaries they hired; Scout - Billy The Kid Soldier - Stonewall Jackson Pyro - Abraham Lincoln Demoman - Alfred Nobel Heavy - John Henry Engineer - Nikola Tesla Medic - Sigmund Freud Sniper - Davy Crockett Spy - Fu Manchu Quite the selection.
It is kind of funny that Abraham Lincoln is the Pyro when he is also known in lore for rocket jumping. Maybe he invented stairs so that he could be the Pyro though
4:19 Gravel IS valuable. That is a bit of a misunderstanding in the community. Zepheniah was convinced to buy the land because there was a lot of gravel and other riches -- which wouldn't be a bad investment. The problem was that the gravel was really really poor quality. "Fool's gravel" as he called it, more akin to sand. That's why they are idiots, they convinced their father to buy a gigantic deposit of worthless gravel and then they spent the rest of their lives fighting for it.
Gravel is perfect for concrete, which would become valuable with Modern/brutalist Architecture and road construction throughout the 20th century. Too bad most of those plots were sand pits, though it seems a few were pretty profitable.
Little detail in the Mann Family portrait is that Silas is holding keys and nametags, suggesting that he's responsible for Mann Co. selling those items So next time you make an expensive trade or rename one of your items, know that Silas made it possible!
I remember joking about the 7th comic ending with everyone using gravel as a substitute for Australium I didn't know the Mann family never found the stuff, so that might be the planned ending
@@henryattfield8979 Didn’t the Gray debut comic state that they did try to use gravel as an energy source but gasoline and petrol existed and were far better?
Silas Mann IMO is such a very mysterious character, after SF 2012 it feels like the comic artists kind of forgot he even existed at all. We still don’t know how he died, when he specifically died(Some time after Zephaniah but before TF2). And what role he played in the creation and management of Mannco. But if I were to guess of why Silas haunts the mansion and how he died was he was decapitated(Thus being the horseless *Headless* horsemann). Maybe it’s by someone he knows, was killed by accident or publicly executed
Perhaps his brother Zepheniah hated him or always ignored him? Seeing how in his will he left nothing for him to own. He could have been cast aside by the Mann family members since then and looked down upon or something like that Him haunting the mansion specifically could be him wanting revenge for not inheriting any of his brother’s wealth

Bit off topic question, what ever happened to the TFC Medic during the comics series? We never see them in the comic since Medic was hired by Grey Gravel Co. to fill in their place.
I like to think the VSH stuff takes place right after Gray kicks Saxton out of Mann Co in the first comic. Pauling runs in to tell the Administrator that Gray took over and fired the mercs... why not have VSH take place in between those two events? That's kind of what the new voice lines in the gamemode imply, and it would make a lot of sense.
Thank you for doing the Manns! Considering just how large a part their history forms the background of the TF universe, it can be hard puzzling it all together in a straightforward way, simply by virtue of how that information was parsed out over the years. So to have it laid out in one video is a big help. Personally speaking, I think the mysterious person in the Mann family portrait *was* originally intended to be Gray, but by the time they finalized his backstory, him being present for his father's passing didn't make much story sense, so they just never gave us that final piece of the photo. Maybe it'll become relevant again someday, but I personally doubt it, given where the story and game have been for the past several years. And... that relation to Charles Darling is interesting. Never heard of it before, but I can't help but wonder if that's at least a part of why he was involved in the last few years of TF comics.
theoretically, mann vs machine wouldn't have happened if saxton had the balls to punt a child into outer space like he would do to literally anyone else.
wait but if Olivia was born in the 1960s-1970s she's around 50-60 in present day. There could be a tf2 comic that takes place in 2023 and it would make sense. neat.
11:35 ok i know we're talking about the Mann family here, but I'm legitimately convinced soldier wasn't as dumb as dirt as later in the comics before the lead-poisoned water took a tole on him. This soldier acts somwhat rational and that's both hilarious and suprising.
VS Saxton Hale is obviously non-canon but because it's an alternate universe, we know in the comics Gray never tried to recruit the mercenaries against Saxton and the game mode can only end with either all the mercenaries dying or Saxton dying (neither of which can happen.)
I recall a video where someone went into the voicelines of Saxton Hale for the official Vs Saxton Hale gamemode, and found a few where it’s almost as if he’s shutting down when defeated. In other words, maybe the Saxton Hale we fight in the gamemode is a robot planted by Gray Mann, who then led the mercenaries there as a trap. Not sure how this fits in the overall lore, tho.
My head cannon for Olivia has always been she is a robot or something that Hale would be fine beating to a pulp and reclaiming his position as ceo with his buff ausie wife
I have a small theory that the administrator could be possibly be the long lost half sister of the mann brothers, who like Gray Mann was hoarding and snorting the Austriliam while her idiot brothers were fighting each other all those years.
So... now that the 7th comic is out. Are you gonna make a video making an addendum for the new info it gave? Still, it feels SO WEIRD to have the story finally be finished.... Like, TF2 now has a beginning, middle, and end story wise.
I think the reason why Gray was Zepheniahs favorite is because Gray actually turned out to be quite the cunning bastard unlike Redmond and Blutarch who basically have shit for brains
I would've loved if Olivia was put in charge of Mann. Just our Mercs working for a little girl. After the death of her father and the avenged by mercs hands. She probably would've just kept them employed. Staging fights for her own entertainment.
Family of mann Blutarch mann (died by his long lost brother) Redmond mann (died by his long lost brother) Gray mann (long lost brother got defeated by heavy)
I actually might make a whole video on this topic because it bothers me so much. But the Saxton Hale in VSH may as well be an entirely different character to the one from official TF2 media. The biggest example is how angry the VSH Saxton is. Saxton Hale is not an angry person in the slightest and is almost always smiling. It's a complete 180 from everything we know about his character. He would never describe himself as "pissed." Another major one is him feeling personally betrayed by the mercs switching sides in the VSH story. He barely even knows who the mercs are. He hardly even knows who Gray is.
@@SquimJim I like that one. I actually think the new one is TOO soft. TOO not-intimidating. Sounds like a dodge ball coach. Iv always viewed Hale as really drawn to violence. It makes sense for him to relish killing a bunch of mercs. Calling them girls and talking endlessly about his fists. The context is a little muddy, but hale hardly pays attention to WHY he’s punching. Just that he gets to. I think the old community hale captures that well.
He's generally portrayed as very angry and also personally offended by the betrayal from the mercs in VSH. Saxton Hale is never angry and is always smiling.
