      You are the second person to comment this on one of my videos. So I googled Johnny Sins and turns out, I kinda look like that guy. I don't watch porn at all, so I had no idea what you guys were talking about. Thank's for checkin gout one of my videos and leaving a comment, even if it was a little confusing. HA!

    I would recommend using a cup or something that's a perfect circle to draw your initial lines to cut, then use that as a reference so everything is even and looks nice. Doing it just by eye will probably end up looking bad

    thanks a lot. i need to repair a crack in a cheap Italian cymbal i got off ebay. i couldn't tell for sure which blade you used. Dremel likes to show off how their tool can cut bolts but some of these attachments are like thin wafers and break off easily.

    Almost every cymbal fix vid features an A custom! Def worth fixing of course. Im about to do my first dremel fixes ever, on my 20" paiste rude thin crash (edge crack) and a 12" meinl trash china (interior trash hole crack).

    • @MikeLevitsky
      @MikeLevitsky  3 роки тому +1

      Maybe A customs are prone to cracking? I have only had the one, I haven't cracked any other cymbals in my 20+ years of playing the drums, and I have some cymbals from the 50s. The cymbal in this video did take a lot of abuse in my punk rock days, that was the beginning of the end. After the fix though it is as good as new. I hope your repair jobs go well, I don't think you can really do too much damage, with a good filing even the worst of cuts can be smoothed out. Let me know how it goes!

    I recommend red handled snips to cut it out then use the Dremel tool to smooth it

    I’d use like a scroll saw or jewelers frame saw with a metal blade.

      You are welcome! I hope you are able to fix them. If you don't have a Dremel tool, you can drill a small hole at the end of the crack and it should stop it from spreading, but the sooner you fix a crack the better. Let me know if you fix any, would love to see your work!

    • @DrumAttic
      @DrumAttic 4 роки тому +1

      @@MikeLevitsky I have. Once, a chunk flew off and hit a guitar player lol Another one I drilled small holes on either side of the crack to keep it from spreading. It definitely slowed it down, but eventually the crack started again on the other side of the holes.

    • @MikeLevitsky
      @MikeLevitsky  4 роки тому +1

      @@DrumAttic 😂That's crazy, I hope he was not injured. I've tried the drilling thing too, I have found this method to be the best. You can also use a hole saw and make an ozone (cymbal with big holes) style cymbal.

    Heya, many thanks for this vid. Helpful, & you make this look easy. :)
    Now, my guitarist gave me a 17" prototype Paiste color sound, & my fiancée has a Dremel tool with No. 409 cutting wheels.
    Will the # 409 wheels work on a cymbal? My guitarist gave me this cymbal, which has a wee crack on the edge. I plan on trying to take it out like you did here, but is the # 409 the correct cutting wheel?

      Ya a sponsor would be nice. If you find you are cracking cymbals a lot maybe try tilting your cymbals a bit more or maybe try out the spring loaded cymbal mounts. Just a thought, but it might help. Thanks for dropping a comment.

    I have been playing Drums for 30 years and I know for a fact that all these new cymbals are being made poorly and they are charging an arm and a leg. The new AAX are breaking too fast.
    Custom Dirils, Zildjian etc... All companies.
    We are better off finding old cymbals in good conditions than to buy all these new garbage they are making now.
