Product Info: www.kitepaddle...
The Crowd Killer double winged swallow is the ultimate high performance mid length for aggressive radical surfing. A slightly wider, wave catching nose, with a “no pearl” flip tip, allowing the added length to still fit into the curve of waves. The double wing swallow tail is wide under foot and narrows quickly making it fast and lively in small surf and absolutely thrive in the speed and power of bigger waves.

at 60 years old ive been toying with the longer mid length shapes or mini mals as they were called back in the day.
its normally a natural progression to go towards longboards as you get older.
I am keen to stay on a shortboard shape but wanted better paddling power whist retaining manoeuvrability.
I purchased the 7-6 lib tech crowd killer after riding an 8ft mid length.
Switching to the crowd killers curvier shortboard style outline has taken my surfing to a new level (at aged 60!)
So manoeuvrable and fast in 2ft slop and 6ft grunters.
Get one. They are amazing.
Thank you for adding that bit of information on your experience with the crowd killer, it's helpful for everyone.
The Lost Crowd Killer has been updated in 2021. Is this the new updated shape?
That is a great question. This model was released Beginning 2022 by lib tech, which was shortly after lost had updated the shape. I will reach out to lib tech to see if there is any changes from the lost update to the release of the lib tech version.
@@KitePaddleSurf Thank you, will be excited for the answer!
@@Andrew-tl9gk I just reached out to our Lib Tech Rep and I'll let you know what he says.
I heard back from Lib Tech and they said that Lost created two models one with a double wing swallow tail and one with a round tail. The double wing swallow was created specifically for Lib. It seems to be that the updated 2021 was built for Lib Tech. I hope that helps you out. Have a great day.
@@KitePaddleSurf I am not 100% sure. The round tail is probably the new "Crowd Killer Round". But the normal one has been updated in 2021 according to the Lost website. I am still unsure if it is the old layout, the new one or a third special one for Lib Tech.
Hi
Nice video and explanation.
question : do you think lib tech construction give to the board an extra floating and vantage in the take off ?
EPS board normally has a lightness and more performance than a Pu boards, lib tech seems to have the same, isn't it ?
Great question, Lib construction has a very similar feel to EPS boards for sure. The one difference is Lib construction has better dampening characteristics. Lib boards are little bit heavier than a standard Epoxy board but in return you get a more durable board and a better surf experience when surfing in textured conditions. I have owned a Lib Short Round for 6 years and it's still in great condition and rides amazing to this day. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with a Lib board. Thanks for the question and checking out our videos.
@@KitePaddleSurf Great reply, thank you very much !!
@@davidecarlini You are Welcome, Have a great day
Hello thanks for the video!!
I have a question. Would you recommend my the lib tech crowd killer or the lost crowd killer round?
I would like the board to be an all arounder (I am an intermediate surfer)
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for watching the review. For a majority of most surfers at intermediate level we would recommend a board that has more of a fish tail vs. the round tail. The double wing swallow tail on the lib crowd killer is going to make the board turn easier. The round tail from Lost is catered more for bigger surf and encourages more long draw out turns.
Hope this helps, at KPS we really enjoy the Lib Tech Lost boards. The best durability and ECO-built boards with some of the best shapes from LOST Surfboards.
@@KitePaddleSurfThanks for the help! I just bought the lib tech list crowd killer! Would you have any recommendations for fins and pad?
That is great you got a Crowd Killer its a super fun board. For Fins there is a lot of directions you can go for fins. What is your weight? What type of waves do you plan on surfing?
For traction it's personal preference, I prefer pads that have no arch. Right now this is my favorite Pad, The FCS Kolohe Andino Treadlite.

@@KitePaddleSurfThanks for the pad! I’m looking to surf waves from 1 to 3 meters and I weight 67kgs ( and 173cm tall)
Sorry for the delayed response. Glad to here to you got that pad. It's super nice. For fins my suggestion is to go with the Lib Tech RRIP's quad set Medium.
The quad set is going make the board feel looser in smaller waves. Since you want to surf bigger waves having a quad is great because it gives you more speed down the line and extra hold in the wave having that second trailing fin. Overall a great fin option for the crowd killer

Hey, what are the main differences with the glydra? Whic one would you suggest in small mushy days?
We have not surfed the new Glydra yet, however I have done reading online and it sounds like the
Glydra performs well in small surf, where as the crowd killer is more for larger pumping waves. The Glydra has that wide hydra tail and overall a stretched out fish shape. The crowd killer can surf small waves but the board really does excel in better wave conditions.
Once we get our Glydra's in will be able to do a proper comparison, thank you for watching the review.
Hey I have another question about the board.
What size range of waves is it made for? (For Example 1-8 ft or something like this)
Thanks a lot!!
Hey, so the board was designed to be ridden in better waves anywhere between 4'-10'. The board can surf smaller waves but won't do as well as say the Glydra because it doesn't have the glide. The crowd killer has a fair amount more rocker in the nose and quite a bit of rocker in the tail, all these design characteristics make it a great board in bigger more powerful surf.
The Crowd Killer wants to be surfed off the tail, so in bigger waves it will handle better in comparison to flatter midlengths out there. In small waves I feel like there are better options for midlengths and even choosing a stretched-out fish shape. Hope that answers your ? about wave range.
@@KitePaddleSurf Thanks you so much for the detailed reply!
I heard it mentioned by several guys doing a review that it’s a big guy short board. Im 5’9 270. What size should I look for and any local vendors in Hawaii/ Oahu
Yes its true this is a big guy shortboard. I would probably go for the 7'6" plenty of volume to get you into waves early. I don't know of any local vendors in Hawaii that sell lib-tech crowd killers. Thanks for watching the review.@@jonathanpowell1673
Wow had no idea they came in lib tech. I have one in c4
The C4 Construction is really nice, I put one under my arm at a surf shop in Florida and could right away feel how much lighter the C4 is over the Lib Tech. The Lib Tech however is built like a tank and will last a long time. Thanks for watching the video.
