When Roxas is introduced in this opening, and you already know his and Ventus's entire story, you feel really sad, knowing why he is so confused and lost as to why he is where he is, and where exactly he is. His facial expressions are of confusion, lost, and shock. And it just makes you feel really sad, and you just want to crawl into the story and hug him to tell him it'll all be ok, knowing it won't, which is the worst part about it.
Personally I feel like Roxas' story is more tragic than Ventus'. At least we know Ven is going to wake up soon who knows what's going to happen to Roxas and Xion.
1:19 hits even harder if you played KH1 as a kid when it first came out. This whole fight/scene was so difficult and emotional. Not having the other games released yet, you really thought Riku was too far gone at this point and was never coming back

Travel across different worlds and help to solve their problem which is linked to your problem which would never happen if a war for an all powerful key didn't happen a few centuries ago. Oh, the participants of that war is also still alive if you wondering....some of them. And we don't even know who actually have that key. Did I also mention time is irrelevant since different world progress time differently? But it is relevant to the war since it happened long ago for whatever world you are in. Grab your keyblade, open up the door of darkness and get ready for an adventure full of complicated concept, power of friendship, and full of people with pure heart and heartless people.(literally and figuratively)

I was 11 when the first kingdom hearts came out, now I’m 30. It’s a little sad the characters stay trapped in their age but I get for that it’s probably for marketing purposes.
I love 3:10-3:20. That’s pretty much Chain of Memories. Two protagonists fighting their way through a castle unaware of each other’s presence. It’s so parallel especially adding Mickey with Riku in the scene
I remember the desperation of waiting for school to finish so my father would take me to the game store and pick up my reserved copy of this game. It was my first Kingdom Hearts game. Will always have a special place in my heart. 🙂
This is hands down one of, if not the best openings ever in gaming. From the music, the storytelling shown of the previous games, the beautiful animation for its time, everything. KHII goated.

The Kingdom Hearts games have such an amazing production value, it's unbelievable. Huge kudos to the developers, one can only imagine how much work they put into every game. From the visuals, to the gameplay and the music, everything is perfect. I don't mind waiting a little more for KH3, if it means they'll deliver even more awesomeness! :)
Ps2 was the best console, before they were all just mediocre wannabe gaming pc's with social network bullshit shoehorned in, no backwards compatibility, and were an obvious cash grab. Not only was the ps2 great in and of itself, it had what is still one of the best game libraries.

When I was younger, when i first played KH2, I swore up and down it was a better game. Then I got older and played them again, honestly, the first one is a much better game through and through. Gummi ship is definitely much better in the second tho.
I agree. I do like the faster combat in KH2 though, but it looks like 3 will keep that and make it even better! My favourite part was the fight with "Riku" in KH1 at the end. I feel like that was the first part of the game I used blocking a lot and actually parried and stuff!
P3GASUS I like the fast paced combat of 2, but then I also like how much more strategic the combat was in KH1. I love both battle systems and it is damn near impossible for me to choose a favorite half the time

My hopes is that you will be able to actually travel to destiny islands as a hub world, some how add C.O. in all of this, and to have Ven awaken. Idgaf about Terra, he was just a shitter Riku. Oh, and Riku having a new hair style. The long one in 358/2 and in 2 looked great with his whole way to the dawn design.
I destroyed every KH but next Generations Version (PS4) I am about to buy me a PS4 soon no other game has made me cry more than kingdom hearts. KH has been one of the most greatest thrill rides from the start and it will always have my heart.
