i saw SPY open interest for expirations this week, and they were mostly calls. out of the money calls particularly, and they were a magnet for price.

What happened to the oak stool?
In 2007 on rate cut day of Sept 18 market pushed up then sold off .... market did not regain the highs of Sept 18, 2007 until Oct 5-2007. Is there something different this time to prevent the same sort of thing as end of September so often can be soft. Guess I am wondering is what is under the hood in 2024 is different than under the hood in 2007. Big question, I know. Thank you for this video today. Very informative.
I checked your dates and that is not what really happened. Since September 18, 2007 and for the following 42 days, the market went up 12% plus and then corrected for -53% and that lasted for 389 days. But September was pretty much an up month! Not sure if rates were cut on that date as you mentioned, but it surely did not go lower after that date immediately.
@@edwardsl8016 September 18th was the day they cut 50 BP in 2007 just weird coincidence that it's the same date.

This was an overnight party that resulted from 140k contracts being bought. Then barely moved during the session on volume of 400k+. This was manipulation at its finest
But when we dropped 4% overnight on Japan trade on less than an average day volume that was just normal, right? Any gap up or down is low volume, it is China and European markets interpreting our prior day market.

There is not going to be a huge run on housing in the short term. LOL. There is too much uncertainty. Buyers will wait. There might be a run on refinancing--but not purchasing.
