I love to 3ds max 2024 learning.
Thanks Eloi, the new version looks nice.
So many big improvements. I'm most excited for the Triangulation improvement, this is another gamechanger as was the retopology and smart extrude. And i love that they finally improved the modifier list performance, I was this was a problem only on my machine
Boolean is major update, great.
Lots of very polished tools !
They feeling the pressure
Not sure it was commented before but on the old material list you could always type the letters of the modifier you want and will take you there. Not sure if the new search is better. I want to try it.
If you move your mouse over the list, you still have the old behaviour. If you just start typing you get the searchbox that is muuuch better
Very Informative. Thanks for sharing your review.
11:29 - what renderer is it?
that filter for the modifier stack and faster slate editor 😍
that distance/sine wave shader used on the visuals at the end of the vid - does that shader come with max 2024?
Yes, is a shader for arnold
I wonder why the new modifier list is that important to you. I'm using the X key to search for everything and it's even faster. Unless I am missing something ?
I dont like the x search because it shows a lot of irrelevant, not selectable items, and I found faster to go to the modifiers menu, but its totally dependent in how you are using it for sure.
did they fix the UVW modifier packing feature?
fur and hair 3ds max 2024.1 😉
Material switcher....nice 🙌
Biggest update ever, really amazing stuff
Thanx Eloi
As far as modifier searching goes, does anyone use the global search? I use it almost exclusively now. I barely touch the ui.
I wish Max would link with after effects
Same. What features would you want?
To just export cameras and nulls as standard objects would be nice, it's so overdue
I hope they wont, c4d linked, now if you open AE your c4d crashes lol
@@EvaFrise Then my blood sugar's definitely linked to AE.
Powerful new features, thnx! 👍👍👍
Amazing Updates.
Looks like a great update. Are you able to shed any light on the cliff that you show at the beginning of the video? (around 0:14)
its an array mod over a simple box. Then boolean in top with vdb to get the organic look. Done by changsoo I think.
@@andvfx thanks!
coming from blender, these new booleans make me happy
The bigges pain in the ass is updating 3ds max version have to re-installing all the scripts and plugins and setup UI .
cool update!!! this is very serious tools...
5 mins ago i saw a blender video about ai mapping ! yes with promts.
is there any update in 3ds max including ai issues?
On the 3dsmax news video last month I covered a free script to create anything via maxscript or python using chatgpt
So the best 3ds gets now is getting closer to where blender already was 4 years ago? Admirable.
@@ardianbakalov7186 nah we got that
Lol ... blender cultists, making sure we all know both their _"I don't have a clue about how to use max"_ and their _"we're toxic AF"_ -- they never fail in those two areas. I love watching videos where blender people say things like _"we already have that!",_ then someone making a video comparing the two features and its not even close. Smart extrude, retopology, and this boolean modifier will be one, etc.
Don't get me wrong Blender is great but those arrogant holier than thou cultists keep many people away merely for not wanting that association. I have heard this from so many people, and even from people who quit learning Blender because of how toxic the user base is. Looks like nothing's changing anytime soon.
@@WaspMedia3D i used to use both, a few years back when they were actually comparable. Nowadays there's no comparison and no reason to use 3ds. Blender, Substance Painter, zBrush and Houdini cover pretty much everything that's needed. I do like to see the remaining userbase of 3ds reacting in such a way, probably realizing how all these dollars were basically burned on nothing.
@@Seviexe Reacting to calling out your toxic childish behaviour? You're proving my point.
Like I said, Blender is great, it's the toxic childish attitudes of its user base and communities that make it a turn off for so many users.
Says the edgy cringe lord who used the word 'cultist' to describe the other community.
If anyone needs to point out anything it's your cognitive dissonance. You see everyone else's shit but intellectually incapable of detecting your own. Are you a covert marcasist or something, projecting much?
You literally sound worse than any of the blender users posting here.
So pull your head in, use the software you like and leave the restof humanity to their opinions.
Its crazy that a so called, production package, like Maya, has never kept up with the polycount that 3ds max can handle for imports specially.
Great video Eloi, I think this is a solid release, specially considering this is only the first release of updates of the year.
At the end of the video, those shaders that seem to detect shapes are OSL or what its that?
thats the new distance shader in arnold 7.2
@@andvfx Nice, didn't know about that, thank you!
OCIO & new material editor, hell yeah.
impressive!) thank you)
Hair and Hair and Hair
What is going on at 1:27? Is it actually modifying the mesh or is the action being applied to the material as a normal map?
this has a chamfer modifier in top of the boolean. And is set to smooth all the object, so as I am doing changes you see small changes on the smooth. If I turn chamfer off, or only smooth the chamfer areas, this would not be visible.
Is 3Ds max alive? wow!
Really good updates would be nice if we have some updates on the unwrap Wich looks so old compared to other softwares. Also would be nice if they integrate like unwrapp pro plugin inside max or something similar with automatic unwrap or relax islands in a better way.
nice review :)
@9:53, been away from Max for a while, any guidance/keywords where to go to learn this kind of animations?
Thanks, great content on your channel!
This is using the new distance shader in arnold. I covered it on my patreon, and you can found tutorials on arnold channel
What do you mean "based on QT?" What is QT? I'm guessing not Quicktime.
Its a library to integrate the UI on different programs in a faster, easier, way. www.qt.io/design
Can I have an HDRI for the lighting of my viewport?
Cant want for a node based modifier stack mode.. look like they might be moving in that direction. 😁
8:55 isnt Maya an Autodesk product as well?
@@marijanfabris9983 yes, but different products with different core technology
