Industrial Valley: Railfanning the Steel Mill Railroad CWRO and the Class 1's that service Cliffs

- CWRO 215 and 215 make a series of moves to turn around a bottle train at the Cliffs Steel Mill in Cleveland Ohio. Most of the time I see them shove direct from the blast furnace to the casters across the street so getting multiple moves was great! CWRO stands for Cleveland Works Railway, also called the Crow!
CSX 2801 leads L315 into Clark Ave yard to deliver cars to the mill and work a few other industries located in the flats.
NS 623 leads a local into their side of the yard. If you know the local symbol and times they work please leave a comment down below!
On another day we caught CSX 2801 again this time leaving Clark for their yard in Parma.
Also youtube says I should tag products to help earn money so if any of you buy that refrigerator I tagged I get a 4% commision :) Whirlpool products work well for my family, I wouldn't recommend sh!t.

The one sw1001 looks like an alco with that radiator
Great the steel mill scene and the train with the torpedo cars for the liquid steel. Fantastically filmed.
A winner from start to finish. I'm glad the kids are seeing a steel mill as we still should be proud of American industry. That pacing scene as the CROW backed up was perfect all the way especially as you crossed over the tracks and looked at the bridges. The CSX train going by the rusty buildings and then the Fantastic Leaf swirl with the downtown buildings in the background was top notch and just the sudden sunshine and shimmering pool of water was a great finish. That street you were on inside the mill is also a fantastic drive at night you feel like you have left Earth. Again a fantastic video
Thank you! Glad we can drive through here and not upset anyone filming. Nolan shot the pacing scene while I drove.
@@ScottTaipaleRailTrespassing loophole foamer bonus points lol.
@@railfanningpoints2.045 not really. It’s a public road.
@@ScottTaipaleRail i.e. "loophole" i.e. public road i.e. you can't get charged with trespassing no matter if the crews hate railfans and video recording. I was using the term loophole as a joke.
That's some video! Love a heavy industrial setting and slow moving trains. The beginning reminded me of the Philadelphia, Bethlehem And New England RR. Lots of switches and diamonds, too. This is great railroading.
Thank you. Mills sure have interesting railroads.
Very Cool!! Well Done!!
Nice video!
Glad you enjoyed it
That was a really cool video there Scott! Have a wonderful weekend our friend! (Dave).
Thank you, you also!
@@ScottTaipaleRail you're welcome
Very well done!👍Steel Mills and Trains make the perfect video!
nice
Those hot metal cars are awesome. Thanks for the video.
They're cool to watch but we can feel the heat radiating from them!
Awesome video of the old steel mill and trains Scott!!
Lovely switchers
thanks!
@@ScottTaipaleRail you are very much welcome! :)
They have a neat look, I also like the abandoned passenger cars and the F7 units you found.
MU-ed switchers go Brrr lol
Symbol of the NS should be C22
👍
Great video are those engines and cars abandoned they could use a pretty good paint job
Were hey E8s or E9s? Would be nice to see them restored.
They're at a museum but privately owned. The graf is encouraged because paint slows the rust!
@@ScottTaipaleRail Cool do they still run
@@1940limited Same here
where are those f units at, i used to haul down there years ago nice catches
Nice video but I'm not familiar with what's going on, it would be helpful to have a voiceover or captions.
I agree!
I've been debating using AI narration on scenes. I don't want to hear myself stutter and mumble through the videos!
They're making steel. You can easily Google it.
