Thank you "sew" much for this tutorial. In all my years of sewing I have never really been able to understand any methods or instructions as clearly as what you have explained. I am going to surprise my two kiddies with their beanbags tomorrow while they are at school, I shall be sewing away. Thank-you again.
I'm so GRATEFUL to find this! One of my sons is raising three daughters alone and they're soon going to be living with me. They have been through a lot and I decided to have a lot of soft textures around my place so they feel hugged and nurtured. I can now make each of them their own pillow-chair, which they'll LOVE!! Can you feel me hugging YOU for this idea and the clear directions??!!♡♡♡ Sue
You are such a great teacher, your explanation is easy to follow! Thank you for this great tutorial. I need to make my daughter a new bean bag chair, she used to have a store bought one that ripped apart. I saved all the Styrofoam beads and found this amazing tutorial. So grateful! Will get the fabric and start it right away. :)
Great tips! I remember when bean bag chairs were first introduced. I had a friend who wanted to make one. So her mother helped. The only problem was my friend( a teenager at the time) insisted it had to have REAL beans in it. It got so heavy no one could lift it! lol Thanks for the great videos!
Thank you for your lovely video.... I also believe that UA-cam should remove the thumps down sign to stop people from demotivating other keen viewers... I hope UA-cam will consider this soon.
If you put some powder in the plastic bag,,, it cuts the static ,,, just pour in a little and shake it around while in it’s plastic bag . Then pour into pillow. If gets static , stop and pour in more powder.
thanks for the tutorial. can you specify the amount of fabric needed for an adult sized pillow please? also is the white pocket necessary? can we do without it for the cover and how will the steps change as a result?
if we add say half a yard more to the 48 inches on the short side to make an adult sized pillow, will tnis mean the fabric to be cut will be 60 inches (which will make up the flatter part of the pillow) by 66 inches?. I'm not sure if this is what you meant. hope you can help. thanks.
Also, I couldn't get 60 inch width. I'm not very knowledgeable but the fabric stated 45 inches. I got 2 yards but am not quite sure how to make this work for this tutorial, if it can. Will it be smaller and how do I know how much filler it will need? Any help is appreciated. TIA Laura
yes you are right it will be smaller, as for the fill you can only get it a few different size bags. Start with a small bag and then if you need you can buy another small bag. I'm not sure how much you will need
Thank you, Laura. So, the fabric cut is 45 inches x 72 inches. I thought I could use the 72 inches for the base and the 45 inches for the height. Is that a problem? I am not sure how the salvage edge comes into play here. The pattern is such that it can be used any which way. TIA!
I figured it out, Laura - but now that I am done I am wondering how do you replenish the beads when they start to flatten out too much. Do you just cut out the double row of stitching to do that?
start with something like this www.fairfieldworld.com/store/category/poly-fil-premium-fiber-fill-5-pound-box/ I think you would need almost all of it. But than that will depend on how firm you stuff it.
Thank you! That was the one I was looking into. :) I was hoping it might be enough. It's for my 33 lb daughter for a reading area. I don't need it, too firm. I'll cross my fingers a box will do. :D My other thought was polyproplyene beads but heard they might not be very comfortable.
@@SewVeryEasy I know this is an older post, but I think I would use shredded foam. There are companies out there selling this type of “bag” that are filled with shredded foam and charging BIG bucks for them. 🙂. Maybe there are other fillers to be used?
Those plastic filler beads are an environmental disaster! Non biodegradable polyester fabrics are being recognized as an environmental problem too. Make something biodegradable.
Nancy Mathisen you don't have nothing bio what will be so well battle with weight crashing and smashing ...and you think that stuffing is something else ? of course not .......If you want go bio stay in age off wooden benches and soft bottox hahahahah
Make make make if you so bio friendzy show us ideas from master bio sewer ....We be happy to learn something ...... Other wise you are on other money amongst many .......its even word for it ....

Dear Laura as I am not great fun if beads what are not Eco friendly , and I pay great attention to this subject, can you recommend any other bio degradable and economic friendly way of filling the insert of this bag. politeness are armoury of the most pacient ppl. ....and smartest.

This was such an easy instructional video to follow. The kids love the bean bag, and now mom and dad want one too. So going to make one a bit bigger.
Great class as always, I will have to make 2 though - for my twin granddaughters 😃

I realize this is an older video, but I would suggest using shredded foam instead of the pellets. 😎❤️🐈⬛
What a fun project for everyone in the family! :)

Such a good video! Thank you!
Please teach me Beanbag chair like a beanbag sofa
What kind of 24" zipper do we use?
Are all stitches straight or a mix of zig zag and straight? Im doing this for my daughter
thanks for the tutorial. can you specify the amount of fabric needed for an adult sized pillow please? also is the white pocket necessary? can we do without it for the cover and how will the steps change as a result?
I have not figured out an adult size, just make it the size that you would like and you do not need the pocket:)

If I’m making an adult sized bag with about 2 1/2 yards about how many bags of filler do you suggest?
I'm sorry I do not know. I would start with one bag and see how much it fills and then go from there:)

Mi piacerebbe farlo ma purtroppo parlo solo italiano e quindi non riesco a seguire il tutorial

GENIAAAAAA...
i love laura
Super! 😎
Thanks:)
How did you gauge where to stop filling the liner?
I figured it out, Laura - but now that I am done I am wondering how do you replenish the beads when they start to flatten out too much. Do you just cut out the double row of stitching to do that?
You will just need to open one small area and add from there:)
If I wanted to use foam filler, do you know how much I would need?
