Heidi Gardner is no slouch but there's a long list she has to surpass before she gets that title... Gilda Radner, Cheri Oteri, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, Rachel Dratch, Maya Rudolph, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Leslie Jones, and there are probably a few others I've forgotten as well.
I hardly ever watch SNL now, but, back in the day, the greatest thing ever was when Phil Hartman broke. He only did once (so far as I know, and I'm a huge Phil fan, so much so that I plan to have a tattoo for him one day and I'd never, ever do a tattoo of a band or celebrities...so I'm pretty certain). It was the Tonto, Tarzan, & Frankenstein sketch where they were on a talk show. He broke, then got up and crashed thru the wall. The video is super rare, at least outside of US, but it's the cutest thing. As a former (and hopefully once again, but there's no opportunity here for folks like me) comedy performer, I made a vow I would never break. I've only done so maybe twice. It's my homage to Phil.
Mikey didn't keep it together on that sketch either - of the ones that had speaking parts only Kenan did. Chloe Fineman wasn't even looking at them and she broke. I don't know how the extras didn't break out laughing.
@@toddbulgarelli5988that’s because it isn’t. Look at a map. You don’t have to be on either wing of the same dumb bird to realize it’s apart of the U.S.A. but not the Americas.
That was incredible. Just two things: I'm awed by Heidi's performance. 1. I was afraid her nose might break when she first dove in that burger. That was strong 2. The water dipping gave me the ick I couldn't look at the screen lmao I love her, I love SNL. My English teachers for 15 years now
@@geoffoldread7684 I mean, it sounds like you just don’t like dry humor. I see Nate as incredibly charming and very witty, especially his stand-up. You don’t have to think so, but the man IS funny
I love that this skit broke Bowen AND Mikey - I legitimately couldn't stop laughing because BOWEN was struggling so hard not to laugh - excellently done on the slapstick...something that doesn't usually get me. Heidi is a pro, and when her co-workers break? I do too, lol.
It started with the original Lisa from Temecula, where the camera cut to him at the wrong time and he broke just because he was caught by surprise. Once they realized he would break just from being in the shot too long, they have trolled him in every restaurant sketch since. This sketch, where the camera stays on Bowen the whole time that Heidi is facedown in the burger, feels like the culmination.
I don't think they can do those anymore because Punkie Johnson left. They can write off her character or replace her with someone else who's friends with Ego Nwodim's Lisa, but it won't be the same.
She could have choked, but was majestic doing the dirty on that huge Burger . The funniest bit was the face smacking face down into the burger and her hand flicking bits at the other actors . Loved this, one of the best skits ever for me, just simple American silliness at it's best.
Correct, cannot say that. That fixation on the meal at hand while passively caring about the discussion point makes these sketches. You forget 75% of the dialogue outside of one comical character. Though I felt the second Lisa one was overplayed.
A valiant effort from Mikey Day. Heidi tried to get her revenge, but she had one of the most epic breaks in SNL history in the Beavis and Butt-Head sketch. Mikey got her good.
This was fantastic, top to bottom. 😂 The way Heidi jostled her body to make it look like she was sped up while everyone else was moving at normal speed was genuinely incredible.
I’m just relieved she remembered to take the wood burger skewer out before that nose dive
Haha yeah gave me a Dark Knight flashback 😂
@@tomb2289 yeah pretty slick magic trick if you blink you'd miss it

Heidi never once wavered through this entire bit. Holy shit, the commitment deserves to be applauded.
She plays so well the distressed uptight woman, who turns out completely unhinged.
Heidi will go down in history as one of the most stalwart SNL cast members.
Yeah but do you know why they fired Chloe
Ya she did when she spit out the milkshake she was cracking up
I completely agree, but also Sarah Sherman did not break once
Heidi = queen of committing to the bit 😍

Laughed til I was in tears. Every sketch from this episode was a banger.
Why did you hit stop?
A rare sighting of a Mikey Day break, love it when the hard nuts are cracked.
Omg. Mikey never cracks!
The other time was "golden retriever eating sandwich", I see a pattern!
it was like her goal was to break everyone. kinda reminded me of the Debbie Downer skit with Lindsey Lohan at DISNEYWORLD where EVERYONE broke
Mikey Day as Butthead made Heidi Gardner break harder than anyone I have seen in a long time... Seems like she finally "got him back" in a way.

“Put him in a home” with her face full of food. Dad would be proud.
I wonder how many times they rehearsed this.
snl sketches that involve dining in restaurant almost always has someone breaking 😂

“I doubt that.”

The force the slammed her face into the burger had everyone laughing. So funny
Classic old goofball SNL humor. Loved this!
When the whole table breaks you did it right.
The no hands was probably a change between dress and broadcast just to get this response. It is like what Mulaney would do to Hader to break him.

Sarah Sherman not breaking when Bowen & Mikey were was crazy. I’d have lost it!
She almost did when Heidi stuck her fingers in her mouth 😂
She came real close a couple times, I think she held it together the best out of the regular cast.
Granted she does alot more disgusting stuff in her solo shows so she's probably got an armor for grossness
