At the end when the guy died I just imagine one of those guys shouting *"DAMMIT MIKE WE KILLED ANOTHER ONE"* All jokes aside I'm so excited for this game!
not gonna lie, looks really good, love the art style and the world they have set it in, not sure exactly how melee combat will handle but im sure we have a good enough idea of what it will be like.
I've played it since early access, and it flows kind of like Dying Light in that sense. Without Parkour that is. You swing left and right like usual and have a alternative move to block and a button to 'shove' basically. And it's interesting they added in the ability to swing your melee weapon to knock back enemy thrown projectiles. The game was far too easy when you play in the early access, the enemies are too dumb due to your advanced fighting abilities, and easy to outwit with charged strikes with powerful melee weapons. You can literally go on a murder spree and loot everyone, and use the dead corpses to basically gather a crowd in one spot and throw a berserk bomb and watch them murder each other. Hopefully the released version made the AI more cunning, and less static, like instead of being shocked at the same corpse over and over again they start reacting in a more realistic manner and do things like calling the authorities and running away.
bolonga bong The Life in Technicolor update was almost a year old, go look up the recent preview builds that youtuber demoed 2 weeks ago, those contain story elements and is the latest version, pretty much gone gold.
Really wish that the doctors had a bigger role in this game. They seemed very interesting and were shown quite a lot in the trailers, but you don't even get a chance to fight them. At least that I am aware of.
Cooper Williams If I remember correctly there's a quick encounter where they drug you and experiment on you. And one short encounter when you play as the female character (sorry forgot her name)
dnw009 ya, but it makes it worse. With the first way it’s only the man being unaffected by the death as of it were a trivial thing, however the second one is worse because it’s as if the death was a chore, an annoyance to him, furthering the idea that their lives mean less than nothing to him Ya know?
I mean it follows along with the teachings of our downer uncle jack doesn't it? Just pop a few extra joy and I bet in the morning you won't even remember what was bothering you yesterday.
FYI, the last song that plays is "Zombieland", the song that plays at 4:22 is "Georgie Joy" and the song that plays during the weapon crafting segment is "la la la". All the songs are by the Make Believes.
Lots of potential in this, I hope they made a good game. I love the retro setting, it reminds me of those classic late 60's/early 70s dystopian movies like Clockwork Orange or Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451.
There is potential, but I've been on it for two years in early access, and...Well, it's kinda disappointing. It looks cool, but the gameplay and atmosphere are kind of a let down. Like they tried to make the world too big for how small the concept is. The open world just isn't executed quite right somehow. Before you say "that's because it's early access" I put 90+ hours into The Forest in early access, and it was amazing.
bolonga bong The Forest in early access was buged as hell, i pissed of with a bug that made me can't continue with the history (sorry for my english, i'm brazilian)
See, this is why you never grant early access to an unfinished game. That's like letting people into Disney World before all the rides have been troubleshooted. People end up getting stuck on the roller coaster or one of the animatronics starts cussing at you. Obviously, they're going to have to work on some bugs before they can ship this game to market.
I still remember when this game was a glitchy, buggy mess years ago when the early access was just released. I'm really excited to see the full game now
Enceladus Well, not a mess, but still a glitch extravaganza I think thw story more than makes up for. At least the AI has an in-story reason for being gullible.
I might be missing the memo, but the game has seriously picked up when it joined Gearbox. Like, bloody hell, I haven't seen such amount of content from it in years! Jaw dropping!
Also compulsion was actively not releasing content for the early access release of the game that's why not much changed they wanted to save the other characters and the story content for the full release the early access build was just to show off the games mechanics and how the world would function pretty much
This is the exact game that I want to buy, love dystopian stories and this fits it perfectly . Powerful figurehead, practically enslaved community etc.
"What kind of lunatic wants to remember the past?" Well the past creates the present, and actions in the present create the future. it seems like one of those really good games where at first glance you can barely understand the damn story but a few hours in you know everything and you wanna like tell your friends and they can’t understand so they play it and the cycle continues

As a huuuge fan of surreal games like Bioshock, etc. I have to say after 3 hours I'm really enjoying myself. Beautiful, interesting world/scenario. Maybe the "melee only" type of fighting will get old after awhile, but so far it's been fun. Playing it on Xbox with Game Pass (And Game Pass is now on sale 3 months for a Euro!)
Can't really tell if the adults were wearing masks in 4:41, but it seems that for whatever reason, the children would be sent away to death camps and the parents tought it was to a safer place. The children died and they don't remember 'cause of the joy. Or it could be it was a plan for evacuation to keep the children safe while the city was being bombed (like it happened in WW2), but it backfired and the children are dead. Just a theory, I'm hyped.
Who’s “The General” that the two inspectors/doctor guys mention at 2:21? And why does he look like he’s off his joy? Could this guy be the political leader of Wellington Wells?

dra6o0n it's been said that this game has changed a lot sense then we shall see I'm looking forward to it!
I really hope they fix this game. The early access was really really disappointing.
What the early access shows the combat is like Dying Light oh btw thanks dra6o0n for the info about the AI
bolonga bong The Life in Technicolor update was almost a year old, go look up the recent preview builds that youtuber demoed 2 weeks ago, those contain story elements and is the latest version, pretty much gone gold.

Lots of potential in this, I hope they made a good game. I love the retro setting, it reminds me of those classic late 60's/early 70s dystopian movies like Clockwork Orange or Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451.
It's actually set in '64, and I've seen a few Austin Powers references.
There is potential, but I've been on it for two years in early access, and...Well, it's kinda disappointing. It looks cool, but the gameplay and atmosphere are kind of a let down. I love "Dead of Winter". It's such a great song and fits the game so well ♥️💊♥️
My bro watched the trailer and asked:
"If happiness is a choice then why are they *forcing* people to take the joy medicine thing?"
O-o
Because their society pretty much hinges on people taking their joy and forgetting that they were ever horrible people
My theory is they're so delusional they don't realizing that they they're forcing them
Bioshock: I have the most skilled and violent characters in gaming history
We happy few: HOLD MY JOY!!!
I might be missing the memo, but the game has seriously picked up when it joined Gearbox. Like, bloody hell, I haven't seen such amount of content from it in years! Jaw dropping!
Well, it was just early access before. It'll be great in the full release
gearbox never touched the game they only published the game so all this content your seeing, its from compulsion games.
Also compulsion was actively not releasing content for the early access release of the game that's why not much changed they wanted to save the other characters and the story content for the full release the early access build was just to show off the games mechanics and how the world would function pretty much
this new content does look quite stunning and more satisfying.
Just remember this is gearbox so hold off on buying until you see some reviews
Looks like a cross of Dead Rising, Dishonored and Bioshock
John Smith
Well it made from ex Bioshock devs. So I see the resemblance.
Dead rising? Wtf?
Wici H Correct
It was not made by bioshock Devs
I get a postal 2 vibe
I find this trailer interesting, from the Sally’s section it seems like she was the one to originally breaking into Verlock’s lab
This is the exact game that I want to buy, love dystopian stories and this fits it perfectly .
Powerful figurehead, practically enslaved community etc.
Beautiful... Aggressive.. and insane, I love it!
awwww man this thing has come so god damn far, its like watching your neighbors puppy grow up, brings tears of joy to my eyes
Out of all trailers, this is the best on yet. Even if I was late to the party.
I just realized, the one in the chair is Percy. Same clothes, hair, and other things like the pictures Arthur sees.
*_The Doctor_* Percy went to Germany and his pants are all torn up like the wastrel you find dead there when you get there as Arthur.
Just in case anyone is wondering, the song at 1:03 & 5:00 is called Zombieland & is on the soundtrack
What's the song they play in the background I love it
Original soundtrack, it will release when the game does.
I hope so. I love the song 2:58
jacob lopez the song from the original e3 trailer.
jacob lopez La-la-la
The songs used are Cheer up and La la la
I love the fact that they said happiness is a choice but in reality is obligatory

This looks like this was inspired by old dystopian future novels.
True.
Kenneth Chou Have you ever read Fahrenheit 451? 1984? Or Brave New World? Well this game is like those books.
+Craig Harvey-Gurr Compulsion openly said that it was inspired with those, you don't need to prove it.
It was inspired by Brave New World
Compulshion made a documentary on We Happy Few and they said they actually did have inspiration from those types of novels
What's the song that starts playing at 4:23
its all ost, wont be out till the game
darude - sandstorm
