  • Do you want to know how to stop PC from overheating and shutting down? I have a simple, at home PC overheating solution for you!
Computer overheating and shutting down problems can frustrating...Losing unsaved videos in video editors... I've been there! Also, having your PC shutting down when live streaming. SUPER frustrating...PC Temps and Shut Down issues have plagued me, but after I downloaded CORE TEMP, I realized my PC was overheating triggering an automatic shutdown to prevent damage to my hardware.
However, this computer overheating FIX, is more like throttling back your PC to a less powerful/heating producing state. I haven't noticed a difference in performance, but I'm happy my pc doesn't shut down when rendering anymore! ...

My thermal paste is failing and ordered some more, before my idle temp was 80.2 and doing what you said got it down to 57.0. Gonna apply some thermal paste and see how low my temperature can get now. Thanks for the help!

Pengu look, your pc will definitely work fine, that’s not what i mean.
What i mean is that this method just limits your performance, instead of actually fixing the issue, which is the Cooling system not being sufficient, like for instance there’s too little thermal paste, or the Stock cooler can’t handle the cpu temps

I play roblox, and i have a absolutely horrible PC. My specs are as follows
    Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce 9100 ( i know its horrible )
The actual PC is a Pavilion p6310y PC
It has a AMD Athlon II X4 630 Quad-Core Processor.
I just looked inside it from the outside with a flashlight and the fans are engulfed with dust,
I set my maximum to 20% (Because it still shuts off any higher) and my minimum is 0%.
If i set it any lower it doesnt shut off but the game just is unbearable to play at certain times (Which is understandable.)
If you could give me a suggestion on what to do it would be very helpful.

I have a windows 10, I don't game, only regular internet use, but about a month ago it would shut off after I was on at a certain time (my main usage time), I thought maybe it was set to turn off at that time like my old computer and I wanted to change what time it shut off but I couldn't find it. Then it started shutting off 2 times in a row, tonight 5 times so I set a fan next to it and it hasn't shut off since which allowed me to view your video. It was on high performance so I changed it to balance, and then since I didn't see the place where you hit 90% I instead hit for it to shut off every five hrs because it runs all of the time, I am hoping this will help. I not a techno person so I am just kind of fumbling around, I did notice a slight noise beforehand coming from the back when I knelt down there to see if it was dusty, now that i have the fan on it I smell a slight smell, not like burning but more like an overheating smell

It all started with a game called Nitroplus Blasterz Heroines Infinite Duel. Tried playing this game in my pc. But all it did was ruin my pc. My system requirements for the game were adequate. Even then, everytime I played, it would shut down my pc while I am in game & CPU overheats and some sounds come from cpu. Then after starting the pc again, there is the message of Windows had shut down unexpectedly with the problem event name: BlueScreen. Tried playing the game for some more times but the problem recurred. So I gave upon the game, deleted it. But then the problem continues for other games too. Also if programs others than games are running, it still shuts down unexpectedly. I am pretty sure there are no viruses. Tried the methods in internet but none worked. I don't know how to solve this problem. This sucks. Wish I never came across the game. Tried your method but still the problem occurs. Any solution pls.

BU𐍂AGØ yeah you definitely need some more. So open it up next time and get a q-tip with some rubbing alcohol and clean up the old paste. Places like bestbuy would have it. Buy some and only put a rice grain size of thermal paste on your cpu. Without enough thermal paste it will overheat your cpu causing it to actually destroy your CPU. ;-; I wouldn’t try to game without fixing the issue. Lmk if it works

    TROUBLESHOOT HELP:
    HARDWARE:
I carefully removed the CPU fan and got some thermal paste spread it to my processor and covered it back with the fan I cleaned some parts with cotton buds.
GPU Video card: Also carefully removed the cover of my video card after detaching it to the cpu and spread some thermal paste and put them back to the cpu.
I also cleared some dust using cotton buds, dry cloth and a cube light eraser to fix specks of dust from gold fins of the memory and video cards and all other parts.
SOFTWARE: I followed the steps above, Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> Power Options> Change or edit Advance settings> Processor POWER MANAGEMENT set to Maximum processor state to 90% and Minimum 5% and got it SET as ACTIVE. I will now check and install the temperature Core Temp. Let's see if this CPU still shuts down or has a temperature problem. My fan is in front of the cpu while inside the computer has processor fan, 1 back fan and two upper extra fans all working and installed.

My set up is asrock 570x gaming phantom 4s, Ryzen 5 3600, XFX 5700xt raw II and 600w ps4. I had an issue where my pc should just shut off when playing games only so I thought it was a gpu heat issue or driver issue. Did everything in the video and it still shut down. So I tuned the gpu fans to turn on full max around 65c and the issue still happens. Finally I figured out it was a cpu or psi or bios issue because my card wouldn’t get over 65c gaming. When to the bios found that my cpu critical rage was set to 75 and fans were on standard. I changed the cpu critical range to 95 because that is the range for amd 3600. The. Went to fan settings in my bios to do a custom profile when to kick on fans at full throttle at around 64c. Saved my settings restarted the went to power settings in windows to adjust my power performance to 90% instead of 100% just to test. Play monster hunter max settings with no issues. No pc shutdown. My bios was shutting down the pc because the cpu was hitting Over 75c. AMD CPUs and XFX 5700 cards run real hot and use a lot of power. Definitely a cooling issue for me and the stick cpu cooler is not so great if you want to keep your cpu under 85c while gaming. I am investing in a cpu and gpu water cooled setup. Everyone says it is normal for amd to run at those temps but for longevity I will be upgrading my coolers. This was just my problem so please try at your own risk , just thought I might share how I fixed the issue.

I have a question, can PC overheat due to playing audio? I have PC few years old, Windows 10 and attached speakers Genius SP HF 500 A. evertything else works perfect but I noticed when I play audio, the air from the ventilator that is located at the back of the computer case starts to blow very hot air. (usually after 5 minutes of playing). After I stop using sound, 2 minutes after the air backs to normal (cool).

I thought all my games were crashing was because my graphics card was broken, I check my waterman settings and realized when I was gaming, my computer was 86 Celsius. Idk how I didn’t know this. I got so mad at my computer that I had to punch it about 5 times. Then I realized I was stupid. All I cared was FPS, so I put my power settings to ultimate performance, but I didn’t realize how it was heating up my pc. Thanks for your help

??? This doesn’t seem like it would solve whatever the problem is in the first place, just temporarily solving it by making your cpu work less and providing a temporary solution.
