Dude in that Challenger went home and started looking at trade in options
It's surprising honestly. I've never raced anyone in my Sonata, but there are a few vids in my FB group of N Lines keeping up with and occasionally beating the V8 muscle trio. Pretty cool given "it's just a Hyundai" lol.
@@rekt_n_linethe Elantra N is notorious for beating 5.7s and not losing by much on scats
@@rekt_n_line its for sure faster than a 5.7 but a 6.4 destroy this sonata
What's the time code? Did a quick glance and didn't find it
@@adrianen9440 it starts around 15:00, there's a black Challenger that slowly pulls up alongside and trails just rear-left in the fast lane. Once Toph merges, you can hear the Challenger floor it - seemingly not being able to further the gap from the Sonata N.
No rear air vents is crazy. New cars just keep trying to cheapen out certain aspects, but the front dash and performance is solid!
Yes, you are correct, and it's ridiculous. How difficult can it be to add it, or how much for could that increase the price of the car. You're paying $36,000 to $37,000, what would another $150.00 matter.
No rear vents drives me crazy. Pitiful not to have them.
@@kellyaustin7487 Yes, you're right. A $37,000 car, and Hyundai does not add rear vents.
I have 2021 sonata n line and it does comes with rear ac vent.
@@BasantPatidar If you live in Canda that explains it. But either way I'm glad you have the rear AC vents. I hope you're still enjoying you N Line.

I love your videos man u do a great job on your videos keep up the good work@@TopherDrives
It is for blind people, so they know what car they're driving.
@@seb5945 look at hyundai being so inclusive /s
Okay kinda cool touch... at 27:43 when you enter a school speed limit zone, the car picked that up and put the kids crossing sign in the gauges.
Mercedes been doing that for years as well as cadillac
@@Jamaicanmonlol. Those are expensive luxury cars. This is a cheap hyundai. Also they have been doing this for years as well.
Love these road trip videos and how it's like a pseudo vlog! You and Emily have great energy, keep it up :)
I’m glad the Sonata got a facelift it looks so good now
Still Accord looks 10000 times better.
@@kfx3907 that thing looks like an old Taurus…
@@kfx3907hahaha that’s a great joke
lmao no it doesn't

Currently leasing a ‘23 Sonata NLine & so pleased with it that I’m looking forward to leasing a ‘25 next year along with the GV70 Sport we’re about to sign on lease. Coming from Infiniti and Lexus/Toyota, although it’s missing a few luxurious amenities to which I’m accustomed, I’m pleased with the overall package for the money. I’ve whipped quite a few Scat Packs, older M4s, etc as a true sleeper.
Many journalists mention the lack of LSD but even when I’m jumping off the line against others, I’ve never had much of an issue with controlling the throttle and getting instant grip. My only issue is the brakes need upgrading from OEM b’c the front pads don’t last at all (changed @12k & 22k mi) even as I typically engine brake at every opportunity; the service manager even admitted they’re not “beefy” enough, but otherwise it’s a solid sedan and a huge win given the power versus the new Accord, Camry, Honda, etc. Other issue is Hyundai’s paint is still “fragile” and if I wasn’t leasing, I would’ve had PPF done, as I drive ~mph on highways and rock chips tear it up.
A lot of reviewers and journalist harp about how necessary LSDs are in FWD cars. I have a 23 Stage 1 GLI, roughly 300hp/400tq. And the only time I feel the LSD doing work is with traction control "off" and going 8/10ths around a sharp turn. In a daily driver you like to throw around now and then its not necessary at all, it wont be missed.
@@spathotan if you “whipped” them the m4’s and scat packs weren’t racing you. Probably 5.7 cars. Those are slow
You did not beat any M4s or scat packs lol. These are quick cars, but not that quick.
@@Lookin4WhoAskedI didn’t say anything about “whipping” anybody. You’re replying to the wrong person.
What is it with yanks leasing everything. Land of excess and “wants” 🤦🏻
Bro got mogged by the steering wheel

I have a 2024 Sonata N -Line for about a week now. I've trying to get used to the power this car has. I'm 72 years old, so I will not be drag racing a Mustang or a Camaro from the stoplight. I've retied from racing about 35 years ago. This car is not made for a heavy foot. I've yet to spin the tires, and I'm still having a lot of fun. She rides well, she's quiet, she stops very well, and she handles good for a big car. Once you're already going, and you step on the gas while going 55mph to 65 mph on a highway, there' is no tire spin, the car just pins your back against the seat. Brings back a lot of memories for me.
I love my 24 Sonata NLine. FYI, the HDA system by default has navigation assists enabled, which is why it slowed down on that curve.
It is great seeing Emily and substitute Topher exude joy from roadtripping a brand new Huyndai. I reckon the Sonata's exterior looks stupendous despite being a democratized vehicle.
Dude you guys got ripped for features in the US.
I'm in Australia and we have:
Spare tyre, rear AC vents, heated & Cooled seats, Back window shades and auto rear window shade, 360 cameras.
I find it fascinating that different regions got different cars
this car in japan lets you use your fingerprint to start the car if you dont have the key... also auto lifting/closing trunk
@johnhorne, you could also have mentioned that we also get the head-up display, in-dash camera display when indicating, rear vents, rear map pockets on both front seats, electric and remote boot opening and closing, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Surround View Monitor, Parking Distance Warning - Forward/Side/Reverse, Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist, and leather wrapped heated steering wheel. In Australia we only get the Sonata N-Line, so the equipment reserved for the premium models in other markets has been included in the Australian specifications. It is a much different car we get to drive!
i'm obsessed with you guys. love these road trip vids!
SNL is really underestimated. Love that they're not too many on the road.
I agree, sedans are still awesome! I am going to get the 2024 Sonata Limited for my daily driver in a month or so. I currently have a 2012 Sonata Limited, and it’s so comfortable to drive. The only reason that I’m upgrading is for the hybrid mpg savings, and the newer tech. I have a Tacoma for off roading and truck things, but I don’t like to daily drive it. I still prefer to drive a sedan over an SUV or truck for my daily, and I travel a lot for work. The 2024 Limited has a power passenger seat, but no lumbar adjustment for the passenger. My 73 y/o mom is comfortable in my current 2012 Limited, so I’m hoping that will be the same for the 2024.
It's nice to learn a little bit about the country this way as well. Nice vid 😊
That challenger not pulling away was great
Just as I was checking out the Sonata on Hyundai's webpage, perfectly timed😁
A couple changes I noticed compared to my 2021. Mine has vents in the rear in the console. I have a spare tire in the trunk. Definitely prefer the switches on the HVAC of mine, compared to the capacitive buttons which don't allow for any muscle memory, requiring taking your eyes off the road to adjust. Need to look into getting full screen Android Auto. Looks like the new cars support it, but not some older ones. I'll have to check for updates to the infotainment. For the most part, I have no complaints about the transmission. Some low speed issues like in stop and go traffic. But it's pretty smooth overall. Shifts are clean and not jerky at all.
I got mine back in march. Did a roadtrip through arizona all the way to california and only had to get gas twice. Once in cali as i arrived, and once as i left.
I have the same complaint about the tires. Those are absolutely getting swapped out once i start taking mine to the track.
Mine was 42k out the door including the 10 year extended warranty which im already having to use thanks to my sunroof suddenly not working 3 months into owning the car.
Hyundai definitely still has some quality control issues including the driver side bumper clips not holding the bumper properly (mine sticks out next to the headlight about an inch, only on the driver side)
I just got this car about a month ago, 24 n line in the same color and I've been averaging about 40 mpg highway! Super super nice
Lies
I’d love to see a longer clip of you and that challenger!
I've had mine for almost 2 months I have 5,000 miles right now. The car has a break in period the transmission and engine might be a little jerky but once everything is broken is it's very very smooth, I've never had a issue with throttle response because I have a cold air intake since I bought the car. The car has been fantastic and fun to drive, 13.9 on the quarter mile, and 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, personally took it to the track and the launch control is fun.
I have this car, too, and mine is at 2k miles, but I do get some jerky. When do you think the break-in period should be??
The break in period for this is 500 miles. You sound like a idiot
You know I’m in the camp where I’d love to see longer versions of these road trip videos. It’s oddly relaxing to watch. I think it’s your driving style.
I have a '23 Sonata N-Line. Got a few bolt-ons and is tuned. It's a ridiculously fun car for what it is. Super comfortable, practical, low key, but has the power when you want it. I will say, the car desperately needs a LSD and stickier tires, the Pirellis just suck. Constantly chirping tires gets annoying sometimes. The car hates traction at low speeds. Personally, I do prefer my "catfish" styling over the new design. Otherwise it's the best car I've ever owned.
They reprogrammed the traction tuning for 2024. Feels much better now.
I have the 24 n-line and my traction is probably just as bad. The TCS triggers pretty much anytime you go flat out on the gas while under 15mph.
The car automatically switches between 1st and 2nd gear at 8-10mph, which in stop and go traffic feels like getting punched in the back repeatedly.
how much HP with the bolt ons and tuning?
I just bought one a couple of days ago. They do change lanes for you when you activate the turn signal.
I have one and love it. Not a fan of the tires and he is completely right on shifting weird in low speeds
Thanks for this video. And can i expect a road tripping video on 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid ?
I just traded my 2022 N Line for a Gladiator a month ago. I legit cried like a little girl when I left it and will always miss it. A phenomenal car all around and a great car to road trip in the mountains. The seating position will feel normal after a few weeks.
Watching this makes me want to drive it again so bad 😢
Great video as always. Ive actually been kicking around trading in my 23 GLI for one of these.
17:35 classic Camry driver move
I live in NC and I can confirm, we have the worst of them here lol
I pick up my june 25 still doing engine braking i did like 250 miles on normal mode doing 70 to 80 on 2000rpm nothing hard an i got 32 mpg. I love this car not a single regret form my accord 2.0t
What kind of camera are you using to vlog?
Please someone tell me the name of the song played at 21 minutes
I love the video and the car... Always been interested in the sonata N line. I just haven't pulled the trigger on one. Just wasn't sure how well the gas mileage is.. keep up the good work on the video. I am a subscriber and thanks again for the report with the sonata N line.
Did you actually manually verify the fuel economy for the trip? In my experience, Hyundai/Kia trip computers tend to overestimate mileage by 2-3mpg.
always been a big fan of the sonata, the new facelift definitely is something i really love. one thing i think is crazy is the pre facelift n line had rear vents, but for some reason the facelifted one does not. and im not sure if this is offered in america, but ive seen videos of people showcasing that apparently the sonata has a light bar animation when you unlock the car at night. not sure if this is true for the american models though. also chase atlantic!!! love to see the fire music tastes from sub topher.
I own the 2022 and my son owns the 2024, one gripe about the new one is in mid day son the screens can get washed out by the sun, having a lip over the screens would have been a great touch. Also the lack of back AC vents is more of a problem than you might think. Otherwise he loves it. I prefer the dash on my 2022, not because it's mine, but because I like the inlaid gauge cluster much better. Great review. Cheers!
This might sound dumb but could get overlooked. Have you adjusted the brightness with the button to the left of the steering wheel. I own one and don't think I've ever been bothered by the sun. I don't think I've ever turned mine up to full brightness
Agree, the dash layout of the 22 looks better and is more practical.
Lil Topher
Sport + mode keeps rpm's a lot higher than sport. It feels like a totally different car. (Difference btwn sport+ and sport is bigger than sport vs normal)
Definitely feel that difference in my k5 Gt as well since they have the same power train
I thought sport + is only for lunch controle, I have this car and I have used sport + few time but didn't feel the difference. Will definitely give it another try since mine is break-in already
the sonata just brings out so much havoc on the road lolol
I wish the Elantra n line came with padded armrest, are a 3 hour highway drive the left elbow gets pretty sore.
Nice but i wonder how it compares to a Subaru Legacy Sport or XT Touring?
Hi, do you think you can do a road trip video on the 2025 Kia K5 GT? I’d really like to see the video of it 😊
Could You Do A Read Trip On The Toyota Corolla Hybrid
11:06 that's some Final Destination-level stuff right there 😬😂
Hyundai is doing everything to keep up with Accord and Camry...and I think they are getting there, special with the nice prices they asking for their sedans.
But between this and Altima...which one you'll pick ?
And why Emily is not driving yet tho? Sometimes you need to do the passenger role , not her.(we need a female opinion as a driver not just as a passenger).
Edit: read always the manual the fuel section, they have the info what type of fuel this car needs,
I hope you road trip the K5 GT once you can grab one. I'm very interested in that car 🙌🏽
I got one and I'm liking it so far. Great tech comfy and quiet ride. Not super sporty tho but that ain't a surprise. Also looks great inside and out
You should do a 24 accord hybrid road trip. I have taken it twice from Dallas to Detroit straight 18 hour 1 way each time. It's very comfortable.
I’d watch 46 mins of Sonata road trip ❤😅
31:19 I love it bro ☁️⛅🌞
31:35 😁
I really enjoy the look of this car especially the front but the no air vents for the back passengers is a turn off. I’m also not a fan of the steering wheel. Besides looks is there a difference from the 23 model ?
Its very ioniq 5ish
The beetle looking one
I love it
25:02 I love you🩵🩷
I own an N Line. While the passenger seat is manual at least it has height adjustment.
Looks nice only wish they didn’t cheap out on the rear seat amenities
Imo all cars that have backseat passengers should come standard with rear seat vents. I get annoyed when companies cut costs like that.
It looks so modern and clean.
Love the sharp lines and boxiness
I personally don't like mat colors on economy cars. I feel like those colors should only be on luxury or sports cars. 🤷♂️
I love how the canadian sonata n line has basically all the things that you complained about. 360 camera? Yes. Blind spot cameras, you betcha. Parking sensors? Hell yea. Memory seats? Rear heated seats? Cooled seats? Automatic wipers? Oh yeah. Just a better package overall, and to be fair the USA one is already great, the Canadian one is a bargain. Also, I'm very glad emily is getting a lot more comfortable on the camera. Ive said this before but she gives some good inputs and you two together have some really cute moments.
Back to Sonata, i HATE that steering wheel. I'd rather switch to the older one.
Edit: Chris you've been forgetting the welcome and goodbye chimes in hyundais! It comes off from the factory but theyre a cool feature and as youve mentioned on daily motor you really like them (and i do too!) so it would be nice if you showed them or just have them in the backround during the walk-around 😊
The Canadian SNL doesnt come with 360 camera or blind spot cameras. I have the '24 bought here in Ontario lol
@@donxyz9940 really? The pre facelift does, I test drive one
@@TheUnreadableUseryep unfortunately :( Only the Korean/Australian specs get those features
i personally didnt like the highway driver assist in my ioniq 5, lane keep would just falling off without any tone or indicator and i find myself drifting out.
With Hyundai's DCT's, it's best to put them into sport mode. It engages the clutch packs more aggressively which prevents unnecessary slippage, & in turn will be way less jerky. Same goes for their original 7spd DCT. Downside is it uses more gas obv, but it's an N-Line so might as well drive it as intended anyways. The VW DSG in my 24 Audi Allroad is much smoother than my old 7spd DCT that was in my GT Sport. It's a wet style just like the Sonata has. Audi doesn't call it DSG tho, like Tiptronic or something lol
Tiptronic is 8 speed automatic and S-Tronic is 7 speed DCT. I always got that confused too, I've just looked it up lol I also owned VW CC with DSG, Audi A5 with S-Tronic, and rented an Elantra N which was shit tons of fun to drive. DCTs all the way!
@Sean-pb5cn yea I realized that after I wrote it I just call it a DSG lol. It's the S Tronic I just didn't care enough to go back & change it
Isn't it criminal to be this early? 🤔😂😂
Do you think the Hyundai Sonata will have a 3.3L turbo engine in the future?
Love my car I have the same one!!!!
Would love to see the Elantra N, not the Base Elantra N-line but the Elantra N. The thing seems like such an insane deal for 36.4k
The reason that a lot of Kia/Hyundai products are lacking in phone connections is supposedly due to using older computing hardware. Although my '22 Rio was the first model to have wireless CarPlay/Android Auto which makes it more of a crime that they killed it off. Just enough comfort and power with the benefit of 36-42 MPG depending on season or driving habits.
Just got mine same exact spec love the car drives fantastic if you have great credit don’t let them take you for a ride I got mine at 36k when they originally wanted me to pay over 45k otd might just be my dealer but don’t let them take you for a ride
Matcha with oatmilk is the ONLY way to go!
I wanted this car so bad … but the I hate the dct.. I wish they just kept a 8 spec automatic or something
My dream is that car in Europe, it's so so beautiful
Agree...American brands completed stop selling sedans in Us
But you kinda off abt the Europe...they still driving tons of sedans/coupe and sub compact CUV's and wagon's
There was never that many American sedans to begin with anyway.
@@porfiriato84 Soooo you dismissing all the sedans and wagons from the 70's 80's 90's and early 2000's??🤧🤧😮💨
Actually! Lol Chevy have the Malibu and Cadillac have the CT5 and CT4 respectively unless I missed something 😂
the SEL trim of this car could be the best valued car under 30k
Got squealing tire citation yesterday... I'm sad because it wasn't just me. I flagged down a Dark Horse owner at a stop light on Woodward in a LT1 10 speed. We ended up taking off and I don't think either of us got through the intersection before the interceptor lights came on from the other side of the road. Luckily the cop was SUPER chill. Only wrote us for squealing tires. Never wished to be in a Tesla more than that moment lol.
Question for you: how much was your squealing tire citation?
I want a N line but hate those rims
Yea we live longer videos bro keep them coming 😅
i wish they would stop with the split headlights
Can you do KIA K5 2025 GT Line?
$37000 is not cheap 😅
7:40 even the interiors of new hyundais have been looksmaxxing bro😭😭
Currently financing a 2024 Elantra but im thinking about trading it in for the sonata.
If youre not paddle shifting, the ECU will get the car to the highest gear possible without stalling as soon as possible.
I let my dad drive my elantra nline, and he said " Jesus, it just shifted 4 times in a 100 feet".
Ill be doing 60 km/h in sport, down shift twice and ill be in thrid. Which is where youd expect a "sport" mode to be.
Man I wish you kept the clip of the Challenger and you killing his ego 😂😂😂
Imo the steering wheel looks nice
The 2.5T needed premium…in the owners manual, it says 91 recommended, and it’s a turbo, in a performance oriented sedan so, but I am loving the new sonata! Great video as always.
Recommended is not required. But yeah my aunt had a santa fe 2.5T rental and they went even further by putting a sticker stating premium only, which is odd.
The 2024 Sonata NLine manual recommends 87.
I think that living in a small city where both of you are , driving is so enjoyable really.
I have those Pirellis and they don't screech at all :(
Watching this like I’m in the market for a new car LOL. Maybe I’ll pick up the 2024 sonata in 10 years 😭
That DCT is probably the one thing that gives me pause about this car. For the same amount of money if not a bit less, I’d probably lean towards a Mazda3 Turbo with an automatic and AWD
She got that car as a gift from her dad
Emily must really care for you, no woman would put up with so much of car talk otherwise. Btw that steering wheel is so confused 😅
You act like there aren't women into cars
I am so sad we do not get the cool Hyundai's in Europe. Elantra / Sonata WHERE?!
Small things, but I really don't like Hyundai moving the audio controls from the left side of the steering wheel and removing buttons.
There was not a shifter on the 2022 , it was push button.
Can you take a road trip in the 2025 Kia k5 next please
I’m 6’2 I fit fine but if I have a hat on or my hair up it touches the roof
Sonata Robocop
how do you deal with using the literal worst shifter ever
